My husband and I had our hotel in Plano arrange for a taxi pickup for 6:45 am to catch a flight home on 10−11−15. The driver was on time, we got in the car and as soon as we drove off, we noticed when the car shifted it was very loud and rough. The driver then explained not to worry, the car has been doing this for a while and it needs a new transmission but he was told to drive it til it broke all the way. Well it wasn’t 10 more minutes that we were on the freeway and the transmission disengaged and we crawled to a stop in the dark. The driver did not pull all the way over, but in the«v» space where an onramp merges with the slow lane of the interstate. The but of the minivan was in the slow lane, and it was very unsafe to say the least. We told the driver since there were few cars coming up the onramp, we were going to get out and walk to a safer location on the ground street below, we also asked that he transfer our luggage and retrieve us in a new car asap. There was a coffee shop right there that I went in and called the taxi office immediately to give them our pick up address as my husband waited outside so as not to miss the car. The walk to this coffee shop did not take more than 3 minutes. After a few minutes I called back to follow up on the status and there was some confusion about our luggage and I did not get a straight answer but that they were coming, I told him to call me back. Then I got a call telling me that I will still need to pay for the trip, as it was not thier fault. I never said I was not going to pay and they still have my luggage. Then I got a call from a driver I could not understand that was yelling at me. Now almost an hour later a cab shows up. I asked where is my luggage, he ordered that I just get in we will get it later. I said no. Then I got a call from Mike the supervisor, he said a car was there 5 min after we got out of the first car and no one was there… but my husband was outside the whole time. He said a blue car would be there soon with our luggage. Wonderful, why was that so hard? The blue car shows up and starts having words with the other cab driver that came from who knows where. Now an hour has gone by and we could miss our flight. The blue car does have my luggage which after the rediculous experience I wish I would have grabbed and called Über, but no time. We go to the airport and then the driver(who did not have the meter on) wanted 75.00, I offered 50.00, he called Mike, put the phone in my ear who then treated me like a criminal and threatened to call the police. Outrageous, rude and negligent. The fact that they had a seriously dysfunctional and unsafe vehicle on the road and knew it constitues gross negligence. Do not get in this company’s cars.
