They put a twist on a traditional phở by adding some braised beef and tenderloin. The beef is extremely tender, the fatty parts melt on the tongue, unlike traditional places where the fat is pretty thick. The broth is good too, it has a rich flavor to it, its the only place that I don’t use any fish, hosin or oils to add into the broth. The only thing I use is their house made sriracha which has a good kick. Its a nice change, I’m sure phở foodies have their go to place but this is a nice change from something traditional. I’ve been here maybe 5 – 6 times in the last couple of months, the food is consistent. Price is a little on the steeper side, phở with imperial rolls and a green tea will run you around $ 30. The only other thing I would want is a XL bowl and better drinks, like a Thai tea, coconut or maybe some sugar cane juice.

The only thing Vietnamese about this restaurant is its name, which by the way, just means«1,2,3…» so points for creativity on that one. Seating is communal so more than likely you will be sitting at a table with people you don’t know, which can be good or bad depending on who you ask. Way overpriced food, and way too much salt in everything. We had the whole fish, halibut and the garlic noodles, based on recommendations off Unilocal.2 out of 3 dishes were way too salty, though the halibut was very flavorful. If you want authentic, good Vietnamese food, you’re better off driving out to Garland. If you want to spend an arm and a leg on food that isn’t worth it, this is your place. We probably won’t be back.

Very Americanized and hipster feel. Unilocal told us to come here. We were in the area and was craving Vietnamese. We should have drove to Garland. Not a place to go if you’re starving and looking for authentic viet food. Our waitress was super sweet and so was everyone else. But it felt like an eternity for our food to be brought out and our ticket to get paid out. We order the beef phở and the imperial rolls. Rolls came out a little saltier than we have liked it. It was ok-it had a burnt and very salty flavor. The nuc mam sauce was more on the fishy tangy side. Needed more sugar in it. The lettuce and herbs that came with it was great though. The phở was somewhat disappointing. My husband described it as «watered down Salisbury steak broth». I didn’t care for the broth either –bland and oily. I felt it was a broth for something else and they accidentally put the wrong broth for our phở. There was no bean sprouts with the phở but it came with an oily Chinese bread that you traditionally eat with congee not phở. The bread was good, tho. There were not a lot of noodles which tasted more like prepackaged than fresh noodles. But the meat and brisket in the phở was so good. Nice, tendor, thick and fatty! Best meat I ever had in phở. I even finished off my husband’s meat. $ 35 dollars later for only two bowls of phở and spring rolls-we left feeling unsatisfied. :(

The starter shrimp pancake could be an entirely satisfying meal alone. The shaking beef, phở, and garlic noodles are full of flavor with every last bite more delicious than the previous. The craft beer/cocktails are fun and carefully selected to not dissapoint. The flavor profile feels modern vietnamese, whatever you take from that. Second time to dine here. Gets busy so reservations should be consider ahead of time but very much worth the wait. Higher priced items may fill the menu but if you share, two can dine reasonably.

Go on Wednesday night and order the beef phở. It is not on the menu but is available upon request. It is amazeballs. Sometimes I dream about it. Writing this review makes me want it now. Nomnomnom.

I’ve been to Hanoi, and this place definitely reminded me of that lovely city. Whole fried fish, pork belly, banana leaf salad were excellent. The duck heart salad was good but a little salty. The pineapple sake cocktail was so yummy.

I love this place but don’t see myself coming back much more because of the 35% price hike across the board…

We’ve tried this place 4 times. First eating at the restaurant with our toddler — it is not kid friendly so don’t bring yours — no highchairs, etc. The food was good first go-around, heavy but good. The last 3 times we’ve ordered take out. grease-laden and oil as far as the eye can see. It’s just not that good… and the dishes don’t justify the prices. I think it seems deceptively healthy given the«salad» components but ultimately the broth, the noodles… it’s not well finessed, it’s heaping and over-salted.

Not your regular Vietnamese restaurant. It is more Americanized. I must say, the cod fish was great. But unfortunately for me, I was craving Vietnamese, and I didn’t get that. The chef is talented for sure, but if you are looking for authentic, or your traditional Vietnamese restaurant, this is not that. My mom got the Phở, and was not happy at all with it. It was bland. If you want a more modern, americanized version of Vietnamese food, go here. But if you are looking for a real Vietnamese place, this is not it :( I hate to give a review like this since the chef and workers are so nice.

One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. I wish the place was a bit bigger but man, the food is so great. You definitely have to try the garlic noodles and the crispy rice shrimp

Wow, what a delicious treat it was for me! My 6 year old son, and I decided to check this place out on a recommendation. My son had the Chicken Bahn Mi, and I had the Tofu Phở-Soup with Rice Noodle, Herbs. Both dishes were done correct, and on point!!! DELICIOUS!!! This is the first time I didn’t ask for some Sriracha so that I could add it to my Phở. That’s how good it was… very good. The food is freshly made, and with lots of flavor. And the ambiance is nice, and quiet… it just gives this relaxing feeling as you enjoy your meal. I think I just found my favorite restaurant in Lakewood! :) Note: The parking is an issue for me… but, it’s okay to park around the corner. Note: If you’re a Vegetarian like me, I highly recommend that you try the«Tofu Phở-Soup with Rice Noodle, Herbs». You won’t be disappointed! :)

We came here a couple nights ago for the first time. We are big fans of phở and had a craving so we decided to try it out here. Phở wasn’t actually on their main menu, but they were luckily(or maybe unluckily) serving it that night. The portion size was good but still a bit expensive($ 14) overall, which I guess is expected since the restaurant is pretty fancy. We were extremely disappointed. Cons: The soup was very bland and oily. The noodles didn’t taste very good either and resembled old packaged ramen from 1990. There were no bean sprouts provided, which I’ve always seen at every other Vietnamese restaurant. There just simply wasn’t much«phở taste» in this soup they called phở. Vietnamese restaurants should know how to make good phở. Pros: The meat that came with the soup was pretty good. The homemade chili sauce was also good, which I ended up loading the soup with eventually so that I could have some kind of taste. The service was very good, which is expected for a higher priced restaurant. The Imperial rolls we got as an appetizer were pretty good as well. Overall, I would not recommend coming here for phở. Maybe the other dishes are good, but those were priced around $ 30 a plate so I don’t think I’ll be going back to gamble on a high priced plate like that after seeing how bad the phở was.

Mot… Hai…Ba…literally means 1, 2, 3. This name was interesting so I decided to bookmark it. My mom explained to me that she believes it’s an expression to mean«the food is good so rush off to get it on a count to three!»(Shrugs) I guess that makes sense. Before I came for dinner, I looked up the restaurant on Unilocal and saw the yummy food pictures. However, this place is not the traditional Vietnamese restaurant where it has the same menu items daily. I came here on a Saturday evening expecting the Vietnamese traditional items like Phở, Rice dish, spring rolls, and etc., but they didn’t offer it. I learned that their menu changes for dinner on weekends to more«fancier» entrees like Sea Bass priced around $ 20 and up. So I was pretty disappointed seeing the menu prices and entrees when I was craving for the more simple items. But we had already sat down and didn’t want to just pickup and leave. Luckily, their appetizer menus were less expensive so my husband and I ordered the Vietnamese Crepes as appetizers and a side bowl of garlic noodles both totaling to around $ 25. To my surprise, the crepes were quite authentic and very delicious. The crepes were crispy and the fish sauce was not bad. All the veggies like mint leaves, bean sprouts, and lettuce all came with it! The garlic noodles were one of my favorites. It was a simple dish that was flavored just right. I also liked that it was only $ 5 and plentiful. The restaurant is very small, but it’s decorated nicely and has a very intimate/trendy vibe. All the seating is setup to be close together so you and your partner will be sitting right next to other customers where you can both hear their conversations. It’s slightly awkward, but we just ignored it and carried on with our conversation as if there was an invisible wall. For anyone that’s curious, the more traditional Vietnamese items are offered during the day, and I believe certain dishes are offered on different days of the week and pricing is less expensive. It’s still expensive compared to truly authentic Vietnamese restaurants though.

I lunched with a buddy here today, and it was very good. It is situated in the tiny box on Lewis just off Skillman formerly known as York St, and it is comfortable and interestingly decorated and laid out. I ordered the bun bo hue, an Americanized version with civilized beef and pork cuts, versus the traditional offal and congealed blood contents. After adding some chili paste, it was quite delicious with a nice kick. The beer list is varied an approachable, a pleasant surprise for a premium restaurant. I look forward to my next visit!

I wish I would’ve had the same experience as all the other reviewers. I really do. Mot Hai Ba was selected based off reviews and was my first experience having Phở. I’m still relatively new to Dallas and unfamiliar with the area. I didn’t see a sign to identify the restaurant and the only parking available is on the street. If there is other parking I didn’t see it. On my first visit I brought my 22 yr military son(who is visiting this week) and 17 yr old girl with me. My daughter wanted to try Phở. It was about 2 pm when we dropped by and the restaurant was nearly empty. I was digging the décor. It seemed like they were playing music from the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. I told my kids that I’d seen the reviews on Unilocal and this restaurant was listed in D magazine. That’s why I chose it. The waitress came by the table and I told her it was our first visit. I told her it was also our first time trying out this type of food. She replied with, «What would like to drink?» I asked her what they had and she picked the menu up and gave it to me. I thought that was rude. We were 3 people out of maybe 10 in the restaurant. It wasn’t busy. We ordered a few cokes. I wanted to ask her about the menu but felt like she was put off by me so I didn’t ask. What would be the point of asking if she was just going to hand the menu back to me? We had the imperial rolls. They looked burned. I’m not sure if they were supposed to look like that. They tasted kinda burned too. Since I’m not familiar with the food I just wasn’t sure if this is how it is supposed to taste. The waitress said to eat the rolls like a lettuce wrap. The sauce that came with the roll was delicious. My kids ordered the beef tenderloin phở and I ordered the chicken phở. We waited for our food while people who had arrived after us got theirs. Our phở was still hot. It wasn’t super tasty to me. The broth was ok but it didn’t make my taste buds sing. Again, I don’t know if that’s normal. Many other people who reviewed think it is great. Maybe the service made my mouth sour? We were down to about 6 people in the restaurant. The waitress screwed up on this couple’s bill. She kept messing it up. It took her about 15 minutes to get it fixed. I wasn’t sure I wanted her charging my card. She had hardly been nice or attentive to us. We paid $ 55 plus for 3 phở’s and imperial rolls plus tip. That was a pricey lunch for a bad experience. Both waitresses weren’t attentive and made me feel unwelcome. Hoped for a better experience but didn’t have one. Can’t say I’d return even if someone paid for me.

I don’t have enough good things to say about this hidden gem off of Skillman. I feel like I am back in NYC whenever I go here. The menu is completely innovative and everything is absolutely delicious. Service is great and the beers on tap are unusual which I love. Great outdoor patio, small bar that you can pop in and have dinner, or share a table with a complete stranger — and be OK with potentially sharing your meal!!! Go with an open mind and taste everything. The only thing I didn’t like was a random herb they had on the plate that smelled like fish or something — and I thought it was basil! Ah!

Elevated Vietnamese Food. If I were asked how to describe MHB in one word that would be my opinion. It was such a unique experience. My boyfriend and I went thinking it was just like any other Vietnamese restaurant. Very Casual, Order comes quick, pay cash(most Asian places require cash only), etc … We were WRONG. This place was small but elegant. Its a great place for a date even. The food is not your typical Vietnamese food. Everything we ordered was either elevated or had a twist to it. We were told the chef/manager(?) traveled and studied how to create such sophisticated dishes. I give him kudos! We ordered three appetizers: Banh Xeo(Vietnamese Crêpe), Spring Rolls, and Grilled Mussels with Curry. All of them were excellent. Banh Xeo is suppose to be a crispy on the outside which I think MHB perfected. The Spring Rolls were a nice starter piece in my opinion. And the Grilled Mussels came as a bigger dish than we had expected. I’d love to come here again and see what other items I’d love to try. If you were my American friend and I was your Vietnamese friend, I think we’d have a great spot to enjoy together. Hurray for Viet food.

I will start off by saying the hostess and the wait staff were accommodating and attentive. However, when it came to the food, it just did not have that wow factor. Case in point, for stater, the imperial eggroll was overly fried and salty and it masked the taste of the meat inside. It just did not even come close to the taste of the traditional Vietnamese egg roll. The Clay Pot Chicken was better but rather salty. Above all, the price point was on the high end for the offering. This was our second time to try this place and don’t see ourselves coming back for a third try…

Amazing food with an intimate setting so get here early and the service is just below sub-par. We got the crab glass noodle dish, and although the crab was fresh and delicious the overall serving was lacking taste. We also tried the fried fish special, which was amazing… Highly recommend that if you love fish! The service came off as snotty, which is disappointing since we’re on the East side of 75. I would have totally given them 5 stars if I felt like the servers really cared. :-/
