I am the primary caretaker of my parents and they have to see doctors quite frequently. This also makes me very well-versed in all things Medicare and Secondary Insurance related matters. I would call myself an expert! This is why I was perplexed as to why the business end of this neurology group kept trying to pre-bill my parents for their visits. In 2015, they charged my parents for the full visit and it turned out they were incorrect in doing so. Their insurance has not changed and they met all their deductibles early in 2015. I thought it was straightened out and we would have no issues going into 2016. I was wrong. I received several calls and text to confirm their appointments which I felt was excessive. Once was enough. Then I began receiving calls that they would have to pay 87.00×2 for their upcoming visit. I called to inquire as to why and they said they needed to meet their yearly Medicare deductible. Which by the way is covered by their supplemental plan! They were trying to scam extra money yet again! We had the same trouble in 2015 and now the same lame excuse was being used again in 2016! The first week of 2016 has not only been filled with doctors appointments for them but any deductible was met January 2 with the 2ER visits just after the new year began! So, I was less than happy with this office trying to charge my parents again for this deductible. I was hung up by their staff because they didn’t want me speaking the truth to them. I called back and cancelled the appointments and I told them I would be reporting them to Medicare for fraud. I know for a fact that insurance info was already verified so the story they were telling was way bigger than any Texas tall-tale could be! I don’t appreciate anyone trying to take advantage of Senior Citizens and especially not my parents. Another annoyance was the fact they claimed to have no records for my mother but they called my sisters number to confirm her appointment. I updated that information to my number. So, how could I have done that if they had no record of my Mother? How could they have called my sister if they had no record of my Mother? Avoid this group at all cost to save your insurance and checking account.

Dr. Krampitz and Dr. Chen are the two physicians in this office in which I have actually interacted with. Dr. Krampitz is mine and my son’s neurologist. I really like him. He has been very thorough in his exams and in the tests he has ordered. Our insurance has denied some of the testing for my son, and he is trying to find a solution instead of just saying«oh well, we tried.» like some doctors do. These are tests that were actually suggested by other doctors and then brought up and ordered by Dr. Krampitz. He also has not given the same diagnosis to us, even though we have similar symptoms and the PCP said that we know that it runs in families. He is judging them each on their own merit. Dr. Chen had to be called emergently about my son one evening when she was on call. She was very professional, and did not just absently refer us to the emergency room. She asked me questions and gave us guidelines to determine if he would need to go to the ER at anytime that night. She spent as much time on the phone with me as most doctors spend in the exam room. If you are looking for a Neurologist, I can strongly recommend this office, and these two physicians, especially.
