100% of a let down. I grew up of Illinois as a child and when we’d stay with my grandma on the weekends this was the go to stop. I used to enjoy waking up and picking out my donuts and sitting in the cute little shop. We I recently took a trip down memory lane, which wasn’t worth it. My mom says the old owners were bought out– which I hope is the case. When we walked in the last completely ignored us, we got drinks and stood there forever until she turned around. We got there at 8– which is still prime donut time on the weekends. They were hard and crusty. The selection was awful and unpleasant. I got one of the last sprinkle donuts and 3 kolaches. The icing on the sprinkle donut didn’t taste homemade and the donut just kind of fell apart. I was only able to eat 1 kolache– which I had to microwave myself(which isn’t a big deal– except the lady didn’t even offer, like they normally do, she made no effort to act like she even enjoyed her job and we just seemed rushed) Regardless, the sausage tasted weird– like it was old. My mom got a blueberry donut and donut holes and didn’t care for either– both hard. Sad to see that such a wonderful place, with such sweet workers go down the drain. I do not recommend, will not return.

Outstanding donuts! Ate 5 of them all warm and melting. Cheap and worth so much more. These donuts are 1000000000000 times better than top pot or glazed donuts– those donuts are trying to be fancy and they’re doing so much extra that it completely ruins the donut. Almost like you’re not eating a real donut anymore… THESE donuts are REAL and not a fad. Best donuts I’ve had in Dallas. If you like REAL donuts, come here.

We got a couple of donuts that were good. The donut holes were good but a little too oily for my taste. Make sure you ask for prices because i’m pretty sure they overcharged us.

I won’t be back. I did like the pigs in a blanket but the jalapeño kolaches have WAY too much jalapeño. The donuts weren’t bad, but certainly not the best I’ve had. I would not recommend.

This is a good donut shop. It’s a mom & pop operation that’s larger than most donut shops. When you walk in, you see the guys whipping up the sweet goods right before your eyes. They have a nice selection of donuts and everything is huge. I have to say the apple fritter may actually be too big. I didn’t really enjoy it because it was so thick and after a couple of bites it’s like you’re just eating plain fried dough. The kolaches are good but I wish I had asked if they have cheese. I wouldn’t drive a long distance to get here, but it is a good choice if you’re in the area.

Solid doughnut place. I admit, however, that I’m clearly missing out on the special Kool-Aid that has everyone ranting and raving about the mind-blowing-ness of the doughnuts themselves. I mean, they were yummy and I have no complaints and I would not be averse to coming here again. But the selection was limited, the variety was tame(which is fine, no issue there really), and my doughnuts were not all that different from any other normal doughnut place. Same for the kolache. Tasty doughnuts and the people were friendly. I recommend if one is in the area, but I can’t say I’d go out of my way to return.

Soft edible pillows of sugary goodness await you at this place. The regular glazed doughnuts are masterpieces. They are perfectly fried on the outside with a confectioners sugar glaze and when you bite into it, it’s like biting into a cloud. Some of the most hyped up doughnuts are too dense in my opinion, but these are perfect.

OMG! Donut lovers must go here! Hubby and I ordered 2 glazed, 2 strawberry frosted, a cinnamon roll, and 2 sausage rolls. The donuts were right out of the oven. The dough was perfect and fluffy with a sweet, gooey, sugary glaze. Im drooling just thinking about it! The sausage rolls had a soft warm little bun cradling a delicious little sausage filles with cheese. .Heaven in a bun! We will definitely be back!

Awesome place. The sausage rolls are great. A small link sausage baked into soft sweet bread. The pigs-in-a-blanket were wonderful and surprisingly filling. Same dough as the sausage roll, but with a yummy frank with a little cheese and jalapeño inside and a slice of jalapeño in the blanket. An original Texas treat for breakfast or lunch. The blueberry donuts are amazing. I wasn’t 100% sure about the glazed donuts at first because I was accustomed to and really enjoyed the Krispy Kreme melt-in-your-mouth consistency dripping in a sugar glaze. OC Donuts are a little more substantial than Krispy Kreme, and there’s less glaze, though still plenty. On balance, I think I prefer the Oak Cliff glazed donuts. Anyway, check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

Yummy donuts, truly the best I’ve ever had! Light, puffy donuts that melt in your mouth and hard to resist eating a 2nd one but go ahead because these are delish. These donuts are right up there with Round Rock donuts and you know what I mean if you’re from Austin. Adore the Korean lady and owner, lovely accent and patient while I ponder my decision.

WHOA! The glazed donuts off the cooling rack are out of this world! Try them out! $ 5 Credit Card purchase minimum so take cash if you aren’t going to buy lots.

Nice place. I gladly pass three other doughnut shop on my way to work to get Oak Cliff Doughnuts. Gotta drive past work and make a few awkward U-turns, but it’s worth it. Donuts are sweet and fluffy. A little too sweet to be eating more than three or four, but as I get older, I find that this is probably in my best interest. I’m a sucker for blueberry cake, and Oak Cliff does them very well. Spicy sausage croissant was very good. Flaky, spicy, and flavorful. Needed an other item to hit the five dollar card minimum, so I got a muffin. I could have been angry that I had to purchase another item, but instead I was happy to enjoy a moist, berry-filled muffin. Staff is friendly and the place is mostly clean. Always seems to be busy any time I’m there. Good stuff.

I agree with the previous comment. It’s the donut by which all donuts must be measured. They set the standard and Krispy Kreme is complete garbage by comparison. I no longer live in Oak Cliff but I have yet to find a better, more tender, and delicious donut than here.

This is my favorite donut place in Dallas, and I’ve tried many. I went here almost every weekend of my childhood, and they’re just as good today as they were 20 years ago. They now have a second location down Hampton, but even it isn’t in the same league as this spot, so definitely go here. Most days(note: they’re closed on Mondays), you can get piping hot, fresh glazed donuts until around 10am or so. Weekends, you can usually get them until almost noon. These are the sort of incredible, melt-in-your-mouth, dripping-with-glaze circles-of-amazing, the likes of which I’ve never found elsewhere despite years of looking. I don’t live in Dallas anymore, but whenever I visit, I try to make at least one visit to the original Oak Cliff Donuts for some hot donuts. These put Krispy Kreme to shame. So if you like hot donuts, THIS is the place to get them.
