While the technician seemed nice enough, I felt as if I was dealing with the proverbial used car salesman as opposed to a heating and air conditioning expert. He spent more time trying to sell me on On Time Expert’s «Members Club,» and suggesting other system upgrades than he did on diagnosing and fixing our problem. Once it came down to diagnosing the problem and giving me a repair price for the part they«thought» might be the problem, I was able to do a quick Google on the part. It ranged from $ 51.00 — $ 55.00 at the dozens of HVAC suppliers on the ‘Net. On Time charged $ 362.00 if I paid the recurring $ 14.99 a month«Membership Fee.» I had to all but choke the non-membership price of $ 382.00 out of him(both of which would be in addition to the service fee). And, while I understand there is more to installing a part than its price, this particular piece — a pressure switch — later took me, a rank amateur, five minutes to install(most of which was in turning off the system and turning it back on again.) Once we finally got to the point that I was politely trying to escort him out of the house and pay the $ 89.00 service fee I’d been quoted — less $ 25.00 discount the card they’d mailed me said I’d get for ANY service — I was told that a) the service charge was $ 99.00 and b) the $ 25.00 discount quoted on the card only applied to repairs. I actually had to argue them down to the $ 89.00 service fee I’d been quoted, and they simply wouldn’t honor the $ 25.00 discount. In short, to quote Sir Robin, «Run away!»

This company has 85 mostly good ratings, many written by anon, on superpages and wow, so many bad ones on Unilocal where it cannot be controlled by the owner. Please be careful of this company. I love how me always says he is sorry the customer FEELS this way after the customer has documented outrageous bad business practices associate with him and his company. Also you might check out the reviews on his previous business called«One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning» located at 1510 Stevens St as well. He doesn’t mention this in his business history. . It was when he had One Hour that I had my primary problems with him and of course to this day because they still send me unwanted snail mail even though I requested for many years to remove my name from their mailing list to no avail. In fact, what the heck I’m just going to repost what i wrote in his previous review here on this page and there are others with negative ratings on the Unilocal link above. Our air conditioner went out. We did not like the way they did business. Several sleazy unethical business practices. (I forgot to mention the reason for our initial distrust of this company. We paid nearly 500.00 with a credit card and then got double billed for the same amount a month later. When we complained they took it off, but along with everything else that was not acceptable to us.) Our experience was not as bad as some. However imo there was an indication that they intended something further as we accidentally saw a private notation from the computer that was sent to us in error. A stroke of very good luck it turned out! We called numerous times over the years to try to get our name off their mailing list. They kept writing us many times to get us to sign up for a monthly maintenance plan. Some one in a previous review wrote they use strong armed tactics to get people to pay them for contracts. That is what I have felt about their mailings even after we told them repeatedly we did not want them. Then they changed their name from«ONEHOURAIRCONDITIONING&HEATING» to «ONTIMEEXPERTS». Notice it’s the same business address/same person. The General Manager and owner of both companies is Randy Kelley. Note also the other Unilocal review for«ONEHOUR» has around 70 reviews and most are the poorest reviews possible. …(INSERTED2015: Not sure why this page has been removed from Unilocal but there were 70 mostly negative reviews against his business and now the link is broken??? Why I wonder??? He’s just reopened businesses in other names. How can someone be help accountable if the Unilocal page disappears when they change the name of their business?) BTW: Here’s what the BBB(not that they have too good of a rep either) has to say about this company: «20 complaints closed with BBB in last 3 years | 11 closed in last 12 months — See more at: -…; See more at: -…(INSERTED2015: Not sure why this BBB page about his business was removed???) Then, after years of specifically unsolicited mailings i.e. SPAM this company sent me an announcement for their new company. Crass, they seem to have no shame imo. I again began calling them to nicely ask that they not write me anymore. Since these two incarnations of the same business have ignored me I am now compelled to write(after their June, 2014 mailing) and get it off my chest once and for all. And thanks to Unilocal I have recourse and can help others steer clear of this business if they so choose. It’s my opinion that this many customers who take the time to write about a small family run business cannot be wrong. Others take heed or as has been said then Buyer Beware. At the very least try to stay off their mailing list lol. And thank you Unilocal

Weirdo technician and bad customer service! Late and then had the audacity to sit in his car for 35 minutes supposedly doing a work order for some one. So tired of calling this company and sitting on hold listening to their prerecorded lies about being on time and«making it right».

My experience with this company is very similar to L.M.‘s above. We have spent thousands of dollars with them in the last few years, and after their last maintenance call they wanted to replace our whole system. Got a second opinion(one with much higher Unilocal reviews). Their solution was significantly less expensive, and their explanation of what needed to be done much more thorough.

My experience was kind of like going into a mechanic for a routine oil change and being told I need a major repair. Second opinion confirmed no major repair was needed. Have used the«second opinion» for a long time. Will use«second opinion» exclusively from now on.

Steer clear of this business. They recently bought the assets of another HVAC company whose owner had died and had been paid for work that was not quite completed. My lawyer tells me that because they bought the assets they are considered the assigns of any contracts that were not completed by the late owner of the company whose assets they acquired. They do not agree and refused to complete the work for which I had already paid. They even charged me for work that they said needed to be completed. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to pay twice for the same job. I am not the only one affected by the unfortunate death of the previous owner. There was an implied warranty running with the original contract. On Time Experts claim they are not responsible for any implied warranty of work not completed even though the form letter that was sent out on their behalf indicated that they would honor all warranties. They claim that this meant only factory warranties. In the case of a factory warranty a homeowner is not limited to the services of a company that bought the assets of the late owner of the original company, but can call any HVAC company for a factory warranty service. I for one will never do business with this company again.

Robert T came to do our regular cleaning of the furnace today. A few days ago, it started making a loud noise and I half expected him to tell me to make another appointment for that. He didn’t! He called and had someone bring him the part and did everything this morning. He was great with my dogs and so kind. Thanks, Robert!
