Despite the poor reviews on this site, I decided to try this shop due to the location. I had a non-responsive laptop and I dropped it off to get diagnosed. I came back about a week later(I asked them not to rush, as I had a backup laptop) and all I got was my laptop which was still not functional and a diagnosis fee. I received zero information about the potential problem. When I dropped it off, I suggested that it may be the video cable or the motherboard and that it may not be worth repairing. Other than getting payment, I do not believe that they did anything else with my laptop. This is unfortunate, as I would like to support local businesses.

This is not a place I would ever recommend. I brought my laptop on a Friday for a worm removal, and was told that it would be $ 79. I said okay, but that was my ceiling. «PJ», apparently the only technician, said it would be ready by about 2pm the next day. I called at 1pm to see if it was on schedule, and he said, no, there was a problem with the administration rights and he had to remove the hard drive and was starting to back up the data. I asked if the programs would be okay, and he said no, they would have to be removed to reinstall Windows 7, but that I could reinstall MS Office from my disks. I explained that I had bought my computer from my last job, and that they went out of business, so I didn’t have Office, so don’t do it. He said he’d look for a copy of Office at their shop, and I said if they did that, then it would be okay as long as all data was backed up. To make a long arduous story short, the laptop continued to have delays and wasn’t finished until about 4pm on Tuesday the next week. And the coupon that PJ told me to clip to save $ 10 off an $ 89 price for virus removal and the added«optimization» process, wasn’t honored. The new price for that service was $ 99, and beyond that, this was no longer a virus removal(really?) and the bill was $ 140.67. When I explained that was NEVER approved, nor even discussed, Why not make it $ 250? it was a situation where the owner, Bill, said pay it or you won’t get the laptop. Wow. Maybe they had a old car repair scam going on the side too. There are other places in northeast Dallas to choose from, some that will stick by a $ 99 flat fee for any PC repair – go there. I’ve had a number of PCs repaired for my business in Los Angeles, and have never been treated this way. Maybe if you have a situation where they can just order a part and stick it in, they won’t change the price. But who knows, wanna find out the hard way?
