Papyrus was the last shop we stopped at after marathon father’s day shopping. The store is absolutely charming. It’s filled with cards, gift wrapping paper, and knickknacks. They offer gift wrapping for an additional charge with the purchase of gift wrap paper. The gift wrapping was awesome. I am a gift wrapping freak myself. She did a great job. She used double sided tape, cleaned up the edges, it was seamless. It was a gift to be admired for it’s gift wrapping precision. The associate who helped us was aloof at first but when we were about to leave my daughter noticed the associate failed to put the father’s day card in the bag. When we checked the card was missing. The associate told me she probably gave it to another person. She laughed really loud. That was the most personality I saw from her. We got another card and left. For a card, gift wrapping paper and the gift wrap I paid $ 29.30. That’s pricey but worth the price when you’re at your wits end and refuse to shop more or gift wrap.

Gentlemen, put down your egos and listen. Papyrus is a great place to shop for cards for your significant other(s). The quality of the cards found at Papyrus will make a difference when your wife, girlfriend, mother or daughter opens them up. Yes, they’re more expensive than that card you bought at the check-out of the 7 – 11 but you get what you pay for. This store is full of great cards for all occasions, gifts and customizable items for whatever event you need. The staff is helpful, too. Show that you’ve put a lot of effort in finding that great card simply by going in here. You’re welcome.

I’ll start out with a disclaimer: a friend of mine works in this store. So, yes, that got me through the door. But I don’t love every place my friends work and this really is a nice little card store. The cards are pricier than Hallmark, but they’re better. They’re higher quality and more unique and not so darn trite. I was surprised to find they even have a few bordering on off-color humor.(I always pictured them as a stuffy store.) Don’t get me wrong… still family friendly. But they have something for just about everything. I am absolutely in love with some of the personalized cards and invitations they offer… they’ll even address the envelopes for you. That service is a bit out of my price range, but very cool. They also have some fun gifts, whether for a friend or you.(Hey! Treat yourself! It’s important!) They sell jewelry that’s both chunky and sparkly… in other words very dangerous. This store is easy to overlook, but I’m glad I found it and I now have a hard time buying any card that isn’t Papyrus.
