Showed up at 8:57, and the only worker there wouldn’t let us in. I showed him my clock to which he replied«That clock ‘don’t’ matter» in a very country tone. I was appalled at the statement. I will never go back in fear of this long haired hippie Jesus closing early again. Do yourselves a favor and stay away!

Being new to Dallas, I was looking for hard liquor at markets and such. From what I understand, markets can only sell beer and wine. Went on Unilocal and this place caught my eye since I was in the area. Parking is a bit difficult. If you do find a spot, they’re all close to each other and only two spots are reserved for PK customers. I walked in and was interested in their beer selection. They have enough to choose from, but not necessarily everything you’d see at BevMo(do they have that here in Dallas?) or Total Wine. I then wanted a small bottle of Hennessy. $ 42?! No way. The most I’d pay for that is $ 25 and even that is pushing it. Maybe I need to get used to the pricing here, but I was just wow’d by the price of their hard liquor. Even the Crown Apple was going for almost $ 35. This is normally about $ 19.99 from what I’m used to.

I like this place. a LOT. First off, the people working there are great: friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful, constantly checking up if you need any help and pitching in with suggestions and information about new additions to their stock. And speaking of the stock, they have a really good variety for such a small store! They have a big table of beer bottles that you can select individually for $ 1 each(this includes hobgoblin and magic hat, so it wins BIG in my book!), but they also have some beers that are slightly more difficult to find around here, like Ommegang three philosophers(if you haven’t tried it, please drop everything you’re doing and go get one now and come back after you’ve had the whole 750 mL bottle… you’re welcome) or Delirium(and surprisingly they even have that in a 6-pack format, something i had never seen before!). I was like a kid in a candy store with respect to their beer selection: D They also have a wide variety of wine and liquor, but today i only had eyes for the beer, as i needed to restock! This place is definitely worth the visit, and if you’re too lazy/tired/insert your reason(drunk?!) to come here, well THEYDELIVER!!! Awesome, no? p. s. they’re closed on sunday, that’s the only sad part, but on that one day of the week, your alcoholic needs can be ably satisfied by whole foods across the street, to tide you over till PK’s opens again on monday. Over and out, i have some beer to go drink!
