Post Uptown Village

My brother could relocate to Frisco, so he was off apartment hunting. I was his adviser. Don’t know why since he typically ignores me. This complex is huge. It’s not the nearest complex to all the action; so that could be good and bad. It may not be as loud, so that’s good, but then again, they are near the highway. Parking with the weekend crowd is not as bad as those complexes near McKinney, but you will have to compete with your neighbors since this place is so large. Nice looking from the outside.

The management is extremely rude and have poor customer service skills. The apartments them self are extremely old, not updated, dirty and not well kept. This is not a place you want to be living in.

Don’t expect to get anything accomplished or anyone to care at all about your issues or concerns. They just want more money. The people that work in the office are honestly the worst. So fake. Tell you one thing and laugh when you walk out. Car was towed first month here out of the parking garage, yes I said the parking garage, so I went up to the front office talked to a lady there, she couldn’t do anything about it had to send an email to upper management. Two weeks later still had heard nothing from Post. So I called up there and not caring at all she told me there is nothing I can do about it. That cost me $ 175. Now I have an additional $ 750 charge on my rent, I was just in there last week and they told me nothing about these charges. There terrible communicators and it’s like they think there on a pedestal and don’t need to help anyone. Point is they don’t care about you or anyone else they just care about money. The more money they can fine and charge you the better they can live. It’s pathetic. They take no responsibility for anything.

Best apartment complex I’ve ever lived in !! Maintenance requests are either done that day or immediately the next day. Staff is friendly and neighbors are cool. Actually, I barely ever see my neighbors so that’s pretty awesome. I’ve never had a parking issue as I hear other people saying. I have no complaints

I’ve lived here for 2 years. They are quick with repairs and the repair men are extremely friendly. BUT there are a lot of repairs. My air conditioner has gone out 5 times and my freezer has gone out once. The apartments are extremely out dated. My bath tub won’t hold water for a bath… it just slowly drains. The stopper in my bathroom sink won’t move up or down. The dishwasher falls out of the wall and I have to screw the one screw holding in place back in. The glass on on my windows is detached so you can always feel hot or cold air coming in.
As a complex in general everyone is very friendly but parking is a nightmare. My car was towed for not having the sticker properly secured to the window– $ 250 later, I have my car back. On top of this rent has increased over $ 125 since I moved in… they really love their loyal residents. Definitely moving when my lease is up next January.

The apartments are in a really good location and the State/​Thomas neighborhood that is nearby is very cute and has a lot of local restaurants.
The apartments themselves are pretty old and outdated. If you’re considering moving in, do NOT pick a first floor apartment. I’m very clean and organized but I had a very severe roach problem for 2 years. I called and complained constantly and they would come spray but these bugs were clearly immune to it. They were Huge! It got a bit better towards the end but when I moved I saw a ton of big dead ones.
I would recommend looking at other post properties in uptown. They are a good company and they do have more updated properties around town. The maintenance is fast and they do a lot of fun community events. It’s a good place to live if you’re new to Dallas.

Although having only lived here for 4 months because I was relocated for work, I felt the need to share my experience specifically on an incident.
Overall during my short stay at Post Uptown I tried and could not find one negative thing about the place — very quite and nice neighborhood, no bugs and no dog poops, all maintenance requests answered within 24 hours.
What I am extremely impressed with is the friendly staff that really take the tenants’ interests as their best interests. I referenced a website as locator when I found this apartment and the locator did not send me the reward card after I signed the lease. Lauren and Jennifer get into a series of email exchanges to help me after I informed them my situation. It turned out that the locator had problems identifying what Post sent to them from the new invoice system. I could not appreciate the help from Lauren and Jennifer more, not only because how fast and responsive they’ve been, but how much initiatives they’ve taken to help me when they could easily find excuses like «it’s the locator’s problem».
Would definitely recommend Post to anyone who needs an apartment in Dallas, a purely professional company.

Moved in last August 2013 — I am only here a few days a week because I travel for work, but it’s a great location and good pricing.
Pros:
— Relatively cheap for the area (the apartments are a bit older looking, but I don’t mind that for the location).
— Great location — just a few blocks from Uptown Yoga studio and Nodding Donkey, Boxwood restaurants/​bars. Also within walking distance to McKinney
— Secure parking, you can park wherever (though it gets pretty crowded and the spaces can be small).
— Fast maintenance (any time I had an issue, they were fixed within a day or two and the management has always been very prompt with any issues or concerns I had).
— Roommate friendly apartments — I live in a ²⁄₂ and they are pretty much exactly the same size rooms — no squabbling about who gets which room and has to pay how much.
— I have not had noise issues on the weekends, but I live in building 4 where there is only a courtyard in the central area.
Cons:
— A bit smaller than you might be used to — for a full sized bed in my room (I live in a ²⁄₂) I have room for a shelf on one side and drawers along the other, but there is no room for a desk or anything. Might bother some people.
— Community pool is very small and gets pretty crowded in the spring/​summer, even though there are only 10 – 20 people there.
— No guest parking — guests have to park on the street, and though there is usually a lot of availability on weekends it is almost impossible to find parking.
Overall a good place to live if you are budget conscious but still want to be in the thick of things.

Been here for few months now, it isn’t that bad. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, and etc. that are in walking distance. So far, it is has been a quite place to live minus on the weekends. hehe

I moved into this complex a few months ago and I love it!
It is located in the State and Allen neighborhood which means I can walk to almost everywhere! Bars, restaurants, hair salons, cleaners, the gym, etc.
I moved into a two story loft for a great price for the area and although it has no washer/​dryer connections, the laundry facility on-​site is great and the apartment is wonderful! My energy bills are low, my view is great and the apartment is just the right size for 1 person (2 if you don’t have a ton of stuff).
Also the management office is so nice! I had some issues with my water/​sewage bill and they quickly had it adjusted.
My only complaint is the maintenance. I have had several issues over the past few months but they were all minor and the maintenance crew corrected all issues within 24 hrs or less.
All-​in-​all I HIGHLY recommend this property!

WHEW where to begin on this one. I’ve recently confirmed my big kid status and moved out from my parents house and into Post Uptown Village in January. It’s only been 4 months but I have had several issues with my neighbors, management, parking and the apartments themselves.
I have had to put in SIX service requests for random things like my oven dials melting when baking, a broken kitchen disposable, my window latches broke on me when I was trying to open them, my kitchen cabinet door broke and fell on my foot, my AC filter needed to be replaced etc. All of these requests were answered and taken care of in less than 24 hours which is great but I shouldn’t have to be scared to walk into my kitchen and cook in fear that everything will come tumbling down on me.
Parking here is difficult even though the garage is reserved and gated for tenants only people double park and it gets so packed here that I hardly get to park on my floor (it still amazes me that people with really nice cars simply can’t drive or park right). There isn’t very much space for guests either, if my friends can’t find room on the streets they end up having to park in the business’ lots across the street and put up their emergency breaks if they try to get towed.
I do love the location of my apartments, I love that I can walk to crooked tree or Aheb Bowen whenever I like or browse around the little shops in the historic uptown district but let’s face it we’re still in uptown. I haven’t had the best experience making good relationships with my neighbors because hardly anyone is REAL around here. No one says hello in the hallways or wave when you let them pass or even apologizes when their dog is practically humping the hell out of you. Also, my neighbor downstairs loves to sing karaōke with all his buds until 3 AM on Sundays and management has refused to do anything about any of my complaints.
My most recent one was yesterday. I was leaving my place to go to work and noticed that my beautiful anthropologie door mat was gone! You better believe when I got off of school I marched around every floor to every door to see if anyone had my mat. The BF was helping me also and he found it sitting in front of someones door on the 1^st floor! How dare someone steal something from me and put it right out there in the open, I was pissed and insulted.
There are a few things that are keeping me here like my 1 year lease but Post Uptown Village also offers several activities. They do at least 3 activities a month and it’s usually things like free breakfast, happy hour on them, cooking courses, poker nights to win rent money and so on. They also have the lowest rent prices in the area (believe me I checked!) and they do try and compensate you for certain inconveniences. For instance, there is a lot of construction going on because they are remodeling and everyone got pizza delivered by I fratelli, small things like that are nice. You also have the option of paying your rent and utilities online, there’s a 24 hour gym on site and 2 different swimming pools and grill areas as well. I also like how they have police officers living in every building (the one in mine is George Clooney deliciousness and he’s only 4 doors down from me!) and I have seen them patrolling around so it makes me feel better about coming home late.
