The service was ok. The place is old and just looks run down and dusty. I had the Fettuccini Primavera which was not good, the sauce had no flavor what so ever! The best part of our meal was the Tiramisu. I can actually say it’s the best I’ve ever had.

Love this place! Great atmosphere and family setting. The chicken Italiano in the lemon butter sauce is amazing, as is the veal francese. Also you must get the butter crab claws! If you come after 6:30 it’s nice to call ahead and make a reservation, it starts getting crowded around that time. You CANNOT leave without trying the coconut Italian cream cake!

is it dating myself to say i’ve been eating here for over 25 years!!! i have never had a bad entrée. robust red/meat sauce, tender pasta shells, tender chicken(lemon butter sauce), and rich lemon cake(grandma’s receipe) an added surprise is their chicken salad. after eating i will take«2» scoops of the cs home for sandwichs.(maybe a slice of cake also) it’s not a large place(drive by fast and you will miss it) so the noise goes up as more people arrive. free valet(it’s a must) parking. family owned give it a try for lunch s-f or a nice date night.

interesting first visit The lasagna for lunch was very good and plentiful — in fact had it for lunch today. Waiter was fair, but I think he had to service too many customers. Salad was okay. Consisted of lettuce and two olives with a delicious dressing. Bread was awful for that kind of restaurant. Need to change it.

Prego Pasta House is the kind of place that you just happen to come upon once in a blue moon. I drove 5 hours just to have some lasagna that has stuck in my mind for three years. It was no disappointment tonight. PPH’s tomato sauce has the perfect balance between richness and zest. The meatballs are juicy and flavorful and the salad is delightfully, but not overwhelmingly, spicy. I won’t wait another three years. I might move to Dallas just for the tomato sauce. ;)

Love this place. Crab claws… Good pizza. We had the large pizza and it is enough for 3 – 4 folks. Nice place that you can come to with a hat on. a+ service. I recommend

I had not been to Prego Pasta House in many years. It still serves very good Southern Italian food. My meal was awesome(Crab claws, Caesar salad, Eggplant Parmesan). The service was good although it seemed to take an usually long amount of time for our entrees to come out. The interior could use a thorough cleaning. The pendant lights over the table were very dusty and overall it looks like the interior could use a fresh coat of paint.

Awesome place and great food. No bells and whistles to impress your date, but consistency in food quality and service. Work across the street and this has been a place of choice for years. Try blackened chicken salad or any of their pastas!!!

Our 5th visit here yesterday. Every dish has been great. The salad dressing is so refreshing and the staff always great. I have gone 3 time wanting different flavors and textures and they made custom dishes for me and my daughter.

When you walk in it looks and feels perfect, but then the food comes. Don’t order a martini, I think they pour them out of a can. Don’t order the Caesar, the romaine is limp and old. And when I ordered the picatta, the server asked of I wanted capers… uh, yes, it’s a friggin picatta. Come bill time, they charged me extra for capers… on a picatta… wtf?! This place must really be struggling if they need to nickel and dime folks to cover their food costs. Ugh. I couldn’t wait to leave. Two stars only because the place does have the ambiance going for it. Just don’t trust the food.

Ordered a simple spaghetti and meatball with a side of meatballs. Picked up my order and there were no meatballs and no extra meatballs. Spoke to the owner, Tony, who claims he bagged my food he was very rude. He was rude and disrespectful. Didn’t offer for me to even drive back across town so I could at least get what I paid for. Also, you have to valet at this place. The meatball(less) spaghetti was a 4 out of 10. I don’t know how one manages to make a bad spaghetti, but I have tasted better chef boyardee. Pros: Not one Cons: Parking Food Management Service Food Customer service

Food tastes like it was old. Ordered mussels, tasted way too fishy and old. Wife’s pasta was soft and unappetising. Probably won’t go back. Seemed that all the patrons were a little advanced in age than we were. That may explain the lack of flavoring.

I’m so sad to have to write this review but I feel it’s necessary. We’ve ordered pizza from this place a few times and stopped because it seems they do not use fresh mushrooms. Tonight I was in the mood for a big meal so we ordered takeout: Fried Calamari-greasy, rubbery, and not enough for the price. Tortellini with cream sauce and mushrooms-the sauce separated and had no flavor. The mushrooms of course, looked like they were not fresh. I should’ve known better. The tortellini was very plain and boring. Chicken Parmesean-about average but a little soggy. I’ll blame that on picking it up rather than eating at the restaurant. It appears this place is family owned so I really want to like it but this disappointing meal will send me to Lovers Pizza and Pasta instead.

Disappointing. I read the reviews and I did see some 5 stars and some bad stars. I thought to myself«it can’t be so bad»… I will never return. Let me start with the good parts: class and service. I was greeted, seated and my, it’s fancy and sophisticated. They even have valet! My waitress was sweet though a little pushy. She’s nice. The thing that made this review a 1 star was the food. I had the shrimp Alfredo with linguine. How much was it? $ 20 I am fine with it as long as it’s a good meal. It doesn’t deserve to even cost $ 10 cause it’s just bad. The shrimp was rubbery. That means it’s been boiled too long or just frozen forever. The sauce was bland and not even close to mediocre. The sauce did not even stick to the pasta and just dripped right off with zero taste. The bread was good. Salad was meh. Bellinis is way better and I should have went there. Right at this point, I would rather eat at McDonald’s(and I don’t like McDonald’s !) The only thing that I think is great is the customer service and the lovely old style atmosphere. But food wise… Time for a new chef.

Ok is this a Italian restaurant or an American joint? I’m so confused. Went in here for lunch. Was offered the supper menu. An older woman came over and gave us lunch menus. Waitress came by and I asked her what the soup of the day was. She said it was New England Clam Chowder. She then started talking about the mashed potatoes, etc. I interrupted her to let her know that she lost me on the words New England. The lunch menu was chicken fried steak and chicken, grilled cheese, turkey wraps, yawn, salads, spaghetti and lasagna. We got the spaghetti and lasagna. Yawn yawn. They were preceded with a Caesar Salad. Yawn again. The lunch was nothing more than a Michael Angelo’s frozen entrees. Seriously. We were disappointed in the deceiving notion that this was an Italian Restaurant. Big disappointment. Won’t return.

A great place for a quick 70 – 80’s style lunch. I just have to say this place deserves at least 4 stars on lunch menus they have with 2 sides to choose from mashed potatoes, sauteed cauliflower, buttered beans, steamed spinach, etc. I had a Chicken Fried Chicken(battered fried chicken breast) with buttered beans and spinach. Actually, I enjoyed my meal very much. Chicken was tender/juicy inside and fairly crispy outside while sides were above the average. I recommend ordering the spinach for a side. I just did not care too much about atmosphere, although the average age of customers was definitely old while their grandchildren playing around tables!

It’s places like this where I hope the owners read the reviews. Because it’s not horrible, but definitely a little rough around the edges. It has potential to be great. The décor is outdated and antiquated. Rope lights, turquoise walls, crappy wallpaper… really? And the furniture is old. Most chairs and tables are wobbly from age, and the bar hasn’t been polished in years. Now the food. It needs updating. That’s not to say it’s bad, but it’s styled from 10 – 20 years ago… hasn’t kept up with the times. At all. The bread was delightful, the salad was far too overdressed, and the tortellini pasta was store bought frozen with a watery«cream» sauce that was the worst. The service was lacking, but I ate, paid, and left. This is a one star place. I really do hope they turn it around for a facelift, menu/food updating and really own the prime location.

I’m usually a tough critic and I don’t hand out 5 stars that easily but currently this place is only rating a 2 ½ and it’s better than that. Prego definitely deserves a better rating. It’s an old fashioned little Italian diner-feeling restaurant. We had: Small cheese pizza-no better than something comparable to iFratellis pizza. BUT it was good. The«special» cheese garlic bread– nothing that«special» but don’t let me fool you, we ate every piece. He had the meatball sandwich and it looked delicious. See the picture of it I posted. My boyfriend liked it very much. His sandwich also came with these potato fries and they were SO good. The crowd here seemed older hence maybe the lack of good reviews and pictures here on Unilocal. P. s. I was originally giving this place a 4star. Instead of the five. But yeah, it was good!
