Stopped by for a game of Cards Against Humanity, had a great time and a lot of laughs with a bunch of friendly people.

Found this place in Unilocal, even tho I lived down the street. I had no clue it was there. Parking in the Bishop Arts is tight in general. So the parking here is residential curbside or the Local Oaks parking lot across the street. The location is a nice small red house that fits the Oak Cliff environment. Once you walk in, you will see new comics, boardsgames, candy and toys lining the walls. It seem to be heavy DC universe when it comes to the action figures. They had about 3 Marvel Select action figures but no Marvel Legends action figures(which I’m all about, hopefully I will see some soon). They had a good selection of newer Funko Pop! and a bin of plush super heroes. But once you walk around, you will see that it’s all new releases from Marvel Now, graphic novels, and DC. Every comic is boarded up and sealed. Which lets you know that they take great care in their products. I didn’t see older comics. Just recent years and today’s comics. The owner named Kenneth, who was really friendly and cool, let my daughter know about the kids section which also had level 1 reading comics and such. So we bought Ant-Man for her! They have a rewards system which I signed up for and they can order comics for you too. He had a box on the counter filled with more comics and making phone calls to let people know their order has arrived. Also, there’s a wall of candy and soda bottle refreshments haha that was great to see too. I will return often.

Comic stores in Dallas are getting stale and cluttered and boring so it’s really refreshing to see this new shop open in a booming location. They keep getting more and more stuff every time I go there, which is a great sign that they’re doing well and could probably find what you’re looking for if you ask. They have all kinds of fun game nights, too, which is great for the family(and the adults, let’s be real, what comic nerd doesn’t like to hang out in a comic shop with awesome people? The answer is none.) The owners are fantastic people, really helpful and friendly. Toys, games, comics, TPB’s and GN’s, playing cards, candy and sodas! Because you need those things when you play games. It’s important. I can’t wait for this business to flourish and become a Dallas staple. It’s already a staple of Oak Cliff so why the heck aren’t you going there? What, you too cool for cool places? I didn’t think so. You’re exactly cool enough.

A friend and I stopped by this shop today to check out their comics and comic collectables. Its a great little shop with a friendly owner(Hi Kenneth!) and reasonable prices. I was able to pick up a few new books as well as a blind box Alien vinyl toy. The most impressive aspect is how well they take care of their comics. Everything(even this week’s new comics!) was bagged and boardly neatly on the racks. It can be frustrating to buy a new comic and find that is already damaged from a careless shop owner, so its AWESOME that these guys really take the time to do it right. Even better, they have a great candy and soda selection in the store. What more could you want in life than a snack and new comics? Great combo!

It’s a small shop, but they get most of the new releases which is exactly what I need. The bonus is that many of the new releases are pre-bagged and boarded, and that’s a testament to the care they put in the items they sell. Also, they have Hi-chews. Also, they have a WALL of Haribro gummy candies. I mean, come on! It doesn’t get a five star from me just yet, but it’s sure to come once I visit the place a few more times.

So my nephew is the one that told me about this little shop and man is it a little. It’s really tiny in there so space might be a issue for some. But aside from that I am happy to see a new comic book store in the oak cliff– bishop arts area. It warms my heart to see one so close to where I live at. I met owner of the store and he is really cool, he does know his comic knowledge. Help me understand what’s going on in the DC universe. I would suggest that if you are a comic book fan or know someone that is check this place out. They will only have new and concurrent issues of comics and graphic novels. They have a good collection of toys, action figures, card games and board game. If they had the space perhaps they’ll have some back issues but because of space they don’t maybe a week or two nothing like years back lol. They also host card game nights daily like magic the gathering and yugioh duel monsters. Special events on some days so get on that mailing list and Facebook page. They also can pull comic books for you and if you get 10 or more you will get a discount on them. I will make this comic store for my new comics. Please support local comic stores we need this one.
