Great service in a nice casual setting. The chef was very accommodating by substituting cucumber for rice in our rolls. Would def recommend the gyoza as an appetizer and the Summer Roll. Will def go back.

I went to Rock & Roll Sushi with two other adults and two kids(ages 5&8) for dinner. They were extremely accommodating to the kids. And the waitress graciously took our photo several times. The sushi was very fresh and the rolls were a good size. I had a glass of the Pinot and it too was very good. My brother had the sake and really enjoyed it. Besides sushi, we also had miso soup, edamame, and udon noodles. Everything was terrific. The music playing was rock & roll and we sang along with some Beatles songs, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly loud. We all enjoyed it very much.

So I’ve been eating at this place for over a decade. They do a good job with their sushi. Nothing that just knocks my socks off but always consistent fresh and good. It is owned by a husband and wife team. The husband is a very talented sushi chef and a very nice guy as I’ve spoken to him many times while sitting at the sushi bar while he was preparing our order. The service is usually good however they can be spotty sometimes as they seem to have a bit of turnover. I got a little turned off one night when the wife portion of the husband-and-wife team overreacted to a very small oversight. I’ve always been a good customer and an over tipper. Usually 25 to 30%. She kind of side tracked me to dining there as I used to visit once or twice a month and always brought people with me. I would still recommend however if you’re nearby and looking for a good solid sushi selection! Hopkins

This place is awesome!!! I literally stumbled upon this restaurant without looking at any reviews(or heard of it for that matter) and came out full and satisfy. I would have given it 5⁄5 stars if the prices were a bit lower. For example, the $ 12 soft shell crab appetizer was so small in portions, it was delicious, but not again for that price. The sushi was a bit better, my favorite is the Longhorn it was packed with flavors and delicately rolled. The no name #3 with spicy Sriracha was great too, the large size was equivalent to two rolls combined! And to finished my dinner, the green tea ice cream was refreshing. Our waitress, suyoun, was incredible! You can definitely tell that she’s super sincere with her service and always checked up on our needs. Overall, rock and roll sushi definitely needs more attention. The service you get there is not like other chain-restaurants, it’s quality.

I love this place. The staff is super nice and the sushi rolls are great. Love the Longhorn roll. I also recommend the tuna tower which is not on the menu.

So I am kinda torn about this place. I am always hesitant to try a new sushi places. The food was really good but the service was horrible. Kinda like when you go on a blind date and it turn out he is really hot but not that smart. Its like on one hand — «score! this is awesome» but do I have to put up with everything else to get to the awesome?

Decided to try Rock & Roll as we kept passing when driving… a diamond in the rough. Been going at least 2 – 3 times a month for two years! We are treated so well by entire staff. Food is good and worth trying the«no name’ and many of the other rolls. Definitely worth a try.

Best sushi! Get the no name #3 small special — best thing you will ever have — melt in your mouth yumminess! Sushi is fantastic and service is great. We have been going once a week for about 2 years and have never had a bad experience or meal. Very family friendly and clean!

My friend and I randomly came across this place and I would definitely come back! We were unsure of what to eat so our waitress kindly went through the menu, describing one item at a time. She was so helpful on giving us her honest opinion with certain rolls. I got the caribbean roll and it was AMAZING. But my favorite part of this whole experience would have to be the complimentary cucumber appetizer. It was ADDICTING!!!

Used to be great. Last 2 times here were disappointing. Tonight it took 25 minutes for an order of tuna tartare. Never got the miso soup or ice water. It wasn’t crowded. Maybe 6 other tables.

I ordered the fried jalapeño roll with tuna substituted for the calamari. It was yummy, but I’ll probably try something else next time!

The service here was great and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The sushi experience however was average. The fish itself was of average quality but the menu lacked what I felt were sufficient options and an ingenuity in roll composition. If the prices had been cheaper this would be a great place for a casual dinner where you could enjoy a good sushi meal without high expectations.

I stopped in again with my niece while in Dallas last week. After we ordered I consulted my review from March. We had ordered all the exact same dishes. Too funny.

The best? Nah but Rock & Roll Sushi serves up some decent food for sure. I went in for a late lunch and was promptly seated by a friendly waitress. I ordered a few different rolls to try as well as my go-to, a spicy tuna hand roll. The summer roll was fine, crab salad wrapped with salmon and seaweed salad and instead of rice it has a cucumber wrap. I probably wouldn’t order it again as there was something… off about the taste of the cucumber itself. My favorite was the sunset roll. Traditional crab salad roll topped with salmon and then a tiny piece of lemon adds the perfect tart hit in your mouth. I will say, Rock & Roll seems to be pricier than most non-upscale sushi restaurants. The bill was $ 38 for 2 rolls and 1 hand roll.

Went here on a whim because we were in the area. It was pretty dead inside, place seemed clean and service was good. The rolls were small and just not our favorite. I did like the veggie roll that they had as a special roll.

There’s nothing terribly wrong with Rock & Roll Sushi. But there’s also not much great about it. I’d say it is the most average sushi experience I’ve had. There is nothing wrong with that, but at the prices they’re charging, I expect more. Sushi should fall into one of two camps: Amazingly tasty, but expensive; and cheap but plentiful. Tasteless and expensive is a bad combination. I ordered a California Roll, as it’s a good barometer for new sushi places. It arrived quickly. So quickly, I might be convinced it was prepared in advance(lesser sushi restaurants often pre-make their California Rolls, knowing it’s the most commonly ordered). It was… pedestrian. My other choice, the Ranger Roll, was similarly mediocre; some might say bland. It was basically a baked California Roll with whitefish and mayo topping. I can’t recall ever eating fish so tasteless. I don’t mind spending $ 12 on a roll, but it had better be delicious. This was in different zip code than«delicious.» The miso soup was bland, and the house salad was ridiculously overpriced. They should be ashamed to charge $ 3.25 for a dozen shards of lettuce. Service was fast, and I appreciated that on lunch break. However, it should have been, as I was one of only three tables in the place — on a Friday. One other personal quibble; I like my wasabi hot and my ginger pickled. When the ginger is spicier than the wasabi, something is amiss. About halfway through my lunch, I considered how«blah» the meal was, but still decided I should give Rock & Roll Sushi another shot. But upon leaving, with $ 30 less in my pocket and wishing for some sort of taste memory to cling to, I have a hard time believing I’ll ever be so desperate for sushi as to visit again.

The fish wasn’t fresh, and the rolls are WAY overpriced. For that, I would have given it two stars. But what really convinced me to never come back(and drop the rating to 1 star) is the fact that, just two days after using a credit card here that I hadn’t used for several weeks, that credit card information was duplicated and used to make fraudulent purchases(gas and jewelry, of course). Luckily, my bank caught it and alerted me. I had to go through the hassle of canceling my card and getting a new one. Of course, I can’t say for certain that my card information was stolen at this restaurant. However… I will not be back to risk it.

When I walked into this joint tonight, I was immediately consumed by the red walls that envelop this restaurant. It would be one thing if they hung artwork on the walls, but no it’s just large, red walls. Not bad — just interesting. I think my favorite part of the ambiance was the mini ‘lounge’ area they have tucked in the far corner by the bar. I wonder if they are attempting to house a little after-hours club over there? I guess I should come back when the regulars come out of the woodwork to party down at rock and roll sushi Fresh Prince of Bel-Air style. And that is exactly what their obscurely outdated furniture and décor reminds me of: a faux restaurant on the set of an early ‘90s sitcom. YES! Oh right, I ate there too. I was so confused by the interior I forgot I actually went there to eat. The food is pretty good. We had their cajun roll, spicy tuna roll, and Mavericks roll. I am kinda kicking myself that we didn’t try the renowned Longhorn roll. That probably would have been tastier than the cajun roll. The spicy tuna wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t spicy and a little on the shrimpy side. ‘Shrimpy’ as in small, not the sebastian sea creature. The yummiest role was definitely the Mavericks roll, topped in avocado and stuffed with fresh tuna. I ordered a Kirin Light and the sweet, little server brought me something completely different. I didn’t mind, because usually I am not too concerned about mistakes anyone could make, but mainly because she was so sweet and apologetic. How could you really get mad at that? That can be said for the whole staff there — just very friendly and warm

Rock and Roll biotches! This place is located in the heart of Preston center… right near Snuffers. I don’t think R&R is as bad as some of these reviews say it is. It has the most important things… no fishy smell, no slimy fish and yummy wasabi! :-) We always sit at the Sushi bar, which is like a little cubicle in the middle of the restaurant. That way we can talk to the chef and get our food ASAP. We order everything from ginger salads to Unagi Sashimi to their signature Longhorn roll(which has tuna sashimi on top of a yummy crunchy roll) makes me want to start a food fight, so they know what they are missing. The service is fine, they’re friendly. I know its family owned which I like. They always seem busy when we’re there, so obviously its not that bad. Another cool thing, is if you ask nicely they will create a custom roll for you. Ya huh! It’s definitely a laid back place where they focus on their designs(ahem, sushi) they give you privacy and let you enjoy your food. We all know how messy or out of control eating you can do as said Sushi establishments. Just order some warm saki, sit back and enjoy the scene. It’s called Rock and Roll for a reason… they rock it out and produce banging rolls. \m/aww yea \m/
