A few people mentioned this place, so I decided to head on over to try the chicken. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. First things first — the drive-thru line is out of this world. The longest line I’ve ever been in and it took almost 45 minutes to order. Wow. As far as the chicken, the flavor is just seasoning salt. It’s just so much salt all over the chicken. Like, they don’t add the seasonings in with the flour before cooking, they just dumb a container of seasoning salt onto each piece of chicken. I did enjoy the fries, though. Pretty sure I can find more places here with better chicken. I’m new to Dallas, but if Rudy’s is the best fried chicken place here, you guys have a lot of explaining to do. Lol!

I don’t give many 5 stars, it has to be a death row meal for me. 4 means it very good. 3 is good, I’d eat it again 2 is average. 1 is I wouldn’t put it in my mouth again This chicken is 5 stars. And I love fried chicken. I’m from the south. I’ve cooked it every week if my life and mine is buttermilk soaked for 2 days etc. I know chicken. Look this is not on ambiance although the party in line is epic. Be prepared for people with guns, stacks of bills or schizophrenic homeless bums. This is not a stereotype or me being racist. I’m white, but I’m from Africa. It’s what I’ve seen. Don’t do the drive thru if you don’t want to wait an hour. The walk up has taken me 10 – 45 mins. Everyone’s really nice. You will get approached for change but either give it or say no. They will move on. The dogs are friendly Get extra seasoning! Most come with fries(great!) peppers pickles and bread. Except the 10 piece of just dark I think. But the window lady is super nice and always reminds me. Look it’s excellent. Corn fritters are good. EAT the fries directly! They are horrible cold. Cool. Go.

The most horrible customer service I’ve ever experienced. You wait almost a hour or more just to be greeted with a great lack of professionalism. Then on top of that they just throw your food in the bag. Popeyes will definitely suffice for now on

Best fried chicken I’ve tasted in a long time. A tad over seasoned w/the seasoning they throw in top BUT it was so good I didn’t really care. Be prepared for a long line… and bring cash!

Awesome awesome Fried Chicken! Some people don’t like it.(If you don’t like a certain food, don’t y’all about it and ruin it for others who haven’t had it)!I love it, I think it’s the best in Dallas. I gave it 4-Stars because they don’t take credit cards, or inside seating. Never the less, the Chicken is off the chain y’all! If you haven’t had it, try it!

I came way from Duncanville to get some chicken. I didn’t check my order while I was there because I didn’t want to hold the line up being that you already have to wait a long time. I was served OLDCHICKEN and OLDSOGGYFRIES. I got three 3 piece wings and fries. Totals was $ 15+… My bread was NOT toasted and it was stale. How can you serve a customer cold chicken and soggy fries and be okay with that! You can clearly look at the chicken and see by the dark coloring that it was old and cold. I want my $ 15 back.

Extra season is the way to eat this chicken. However the line is long all the time

Love Rudys! I have been coming here forever and will continue to go. Lines are long as ever but after you taste the product you will know why! I always get a wing basket and fries with extra seasoning and extra jalapeños! You won’t be disappointed

My gf and her sorority sisters were exceptionally excited about trying this place once we heard about it. So we went after classes one Friday night, greatly anticipating some delicious fried chicken. The line was crazy long but it wasn’t unbearable. Probably the fastest 45 minutes has ever felt. The elder sisters were a little taken back when we encountered a few people tapping on our car’s windows as they walked by but that only happened a handful of times. We’re not sure if the chicken was as «clutch» as one review mentioned but it was awfully delicious. The chicken was perfectly breaded and seasoned and the fries were noticeably salty, but in a good way. Loved this place. We would definitely go again.

Came here hoping the reviews were right and I would have the best fried chicken in my life lol. The food was decent but the seasoning is different from other fried chicken places. It is more saltier. I tried the Rudy sauce and I didn’t like it but my husband did it’s like sweet and a different taste to me. We got friend chicken, fries, bread, & corn nuggets. We wanted to try their liver and gizzards but they did not have any. We did not have to wait long because we went on a sat around 10−11pm and I’m sure more peoples were out instead of getting chicken. If you go through drive thru you order & they give you a number so when you drive up to the first window you tell them your number & pay for your meal. Then you head to the second window where they push out your meal on this tray. There is a walk up window too. The area is kind of sketchy if your not from around the area.

The chicken itself is not the best, but that seasoning though… the skin and seasoning makes worth my drive from Fort Worth worth it! The smell oooooooh weeeeee can never make all the way back home without picking at some that delicious skin!

My first time was this weekend– the chicken is «nothing to write home about« It had a little flavor, which is sprinkled on the outside of the chicken. If you have to add more seasoning afterwards that means it’s not good to begin with. The chicken wasn’t moist or tender, just basic. The long line was ridiculous! You wait forever for chicken you can get st your house. I feel bad for those who say this chicken is «the best.»

The food is good, i give them that but the line is way way to long. They need a bigger location to properly accommodate the amount of customers they get on a daily. I got the three wings with fries along with a side of red beans and rice. The chicken was good and so was the fries. Didn’t really enjoy the red beans and rice. It looked more like brown beans and rice if you asked me. After waiting almost 30 mins in the drive thru. When we finally got to the front, the speaker then broke. we then had to wait another 10 mins. After calling someone finally came out and told us just to pull up to the front and they would take our order at the window. All and all the food was good, but I don’t think it’s worth all the trouble. If you are passing by and the line isn’t long I would stop but if not I’ll see you later Ruby

Dang! The food tasted so good. I had Rudy’s for lunch with several people at the office. We enjoyed it so much, there was just 15 minutes of silence for us to focus on our food. The chicken was well seasoned. I like that the fries were a little soggy. I definitely had food coma after that. This place lived up to the hype!

OVER-RATED!!! I’ve had HIGHHOPES from this place, so I wanted to try it out. I heard nothing but AMAZING things about the chicken– and its seasoning from many people. So I wanted to give this place a try. NEVERAGAIN… Everyone apparently don’t know what SEASONINGSALT taste like! Lol… Waste of time.

I have no idea where the good reviews for this place came from! We waited for an hour in the drive-thru, dealt with RUDE customer service, and were served bland chicken(we ordered xtra seasoning). I think the employees don’t mind being rude because they’re protected behind glass. They gave me the wrong order so I gave it back. The guy in the window asked me «why did you open the bag». And I let him know why in a not so polite way! I would give them 0 stars if I could. You can get better fried chicken at Tom Thumb.

BEWAREOFDESSERTS! Yes I know most ppl come for the chicken but it’s just chicken. No special magic, no special flavor other than the heightened senses we feel when indulging in something not good for us. LOL! Since I was there I tried the banana pudding. Woe! It’s bad & I mean really bad. Literally banana flavored pudding with cookies & an after taste that will haunt you for hours. I mean since when does banana pudding have an aftertaste?!

My experience was mediocre. The wait was forever long for drive-through. Roughly an hr and a half later, we got our food– a basket of 5 piece fried chicken, 5 piece tenders, and 5 piece chicken wings for $ 21. Each basket came with soggy french fries, some pickles I don’t care about, super bitter jalapenos, and bread. We ordered them with extra seasoning and a side of Rudy’s sauce. I really like the sauce but it could be a little spicier. The extra seasoning was good on some part of the chicken and french fries, but then it was way too salty on others. Overall, I thought it was really mediocre. The tenders weren’t as juicy as I’d like them to be. I didn’t eat any fried chicken so I can’t say anything about that. The wings were just alright. But then that night, I didn’t feel well. I guess high consumption of grease and fried food got me feeling a little gross, and sick to my stomach. Overall, I wasn’t every impressed. Everything was alright. I don’t think it’s worth the wait or going out of my way for Rudy’s.

Chicken was great. IDK what everyone else is talking about with their ‘soggy fries’, because my fries were hot and crispy. My customer service was decent a well. The drive-thru girl let me know that the meal already came with peppers, and that it wasn’t necessary to order any. She seemed very patient, and that window boy had a sense of humor that I appreciated. Chicken was well seasoned. Next time, I probably won’t get any breasts — I’ll just stick to the legs and thighs. There was nothing wrong with these breasts — I just prefer dark meat ^_^ The wait time tho-geez! I’ll just park in that little dirt load across the street and order at the window, because the drive-thru was ridiculous.
