Sabato is a good guy. He knows what looks good and what you need to turn an on-sale suit, into something that looks like it was made for you. He is a little pricey, but he got my waist, seat, jacket and sleeves done in 2 days. I got the suit on sale and paid about $ 70 for everything and Sabato said the material was very good and that he liked working with it. He said that the money I spent for alterations would make it look better than a much more expensive suit. I got many compliments on the suit and for less than $ 200 I have something that looks way better than anything you can pull off the rack at these men’s stores. If you want it done right, go to Sabato! Note that he only accepts cash!

Sabato’s tailor shop was in my neighbor hood for 20 years. Located at the Villages of Preston Hollow before he moved to this new location, he is from Naples and knows construction of fine clothing inside and out. He is extremely passionate about dressing those who can afford custom clothing. His taste level and comments are going to offend those not accustomed to dealing with the level of expert in clothing design. He can take a quality suit apart and custom fit it as if it were made for you. And because it does fit so well, you’ll enjoy the experience of wearing an «almost» custom fitted suit. For many years he made custom clothing for the affluent in Preston Hollow, the entire families clothing. Those days are gone for many, with so much ready to wear available, when you make an investment to purchase quality designer fashion and need adjustments that require his level of expertise then you will understand his rates. If you need the pants on a suit hemmed, or 2 inches taken in at the waist, take them to the cleaners he does the best quality tailoring in Dallas. When you require a master tailor who will tell you the truth, like the garment is not of good quality or the fabric is cut rate. He will tell you not to spend the money to alter cheaply made clothing. It’s not worth the investment, or it’s a non flattering fit for your body type and style. His honesty injures many persons pride. Instead of being offended, one should listen to someone that has dedicated their lifetime with a keen eye and outstanding talent and 40 yrs of experience and learn something about what quality in clothing really means. You also would then purchase the best you can afford, find and hold on to the best tailor you can find and budget accordingly to experience clothing as close to custom fitted as Sabato can make them.

I tried Sabato the Tailor, Sabato Napolitano, because other reviews Unilocal and elsewhere said«Good quality» but«high prices». I paid what for me was a lot of money for my new suit, and I did not want to risk it screwed up by going to someone who was cheap — I have made that mistake in the past. In short, Mr. Napolitano did an excellent job. The price appears to have been higher than I would have paid elsewhere, but the tailoring is, as best as I can tell, perfect. On balance a great value for the money. Mr. Napolitno’s prices are higher(by 10% to 50%) than what I would have paid if I had used someone in house at the national chain from which I bought my new suit. But he was able to do a more complicated alteration. What I needed was my suit jacket resized, not just the length of the sleeves, but the girth of the jacket(a much more complicated alteration). The result is a jacket that looks as if it were made precisely for me. One final thing: Mr. Napolitno is honest. I knew the jacket needed significant resizing. When I walked in, I was pushing for him to do an alteration that he told me would cost $ 275. But, he told me that it wasn’t necessary, that he could achieve a better effect by doing several cheaper alterations. In total, the alterations for the jacket were less than half the price of the expensive alteration I was pushing for. To me that is the epitome of honesty: I sold myself more expensive work and he talked me down. He gave me a better result, with less profit for himself. As a customer, what else could you want?

I feel like he talks down to you a bit. He charges an arm and a leg for alterations! $ 18 for a simple hem for my suit pants. I also needed the width taken in the crotch area taken in since it was too wide and large, respectively. The total came to by $ 68. He didn’t even tapper the bottom of my pants to make it look more proportional! This is my second time going to him and I will never go back. He also accepts cash ONLY no cards whatsoever. And he’s pretty rude about it too.
