Really delicious! The hummus is the bestttt. So garlicky and delicious! Tabooli salad is also delicious. Gyro is fine. Good, but not sure id get it again. Fries are good too. Service is really funny. Don’t get scared of the outside– it’s just old school small restaurant inside.

As an Iranian the food tastes 4⁄5 to me which is very good for a 15 $ buffet. The atmosphere is casual and the service is very good. The variety of the buffet is also good. The free wifi is a plus. There are also many Iranian products in store that can be bought. Parking is not an issue. Buffet: Tahdig and both rices 5⁄5. Kabob Koobideh 4/5, Juje 5/5, stews 4⁄5. Fish 3⁄5. Salad bar 5⁄5. The homemade Doogh is a 4⁄5.

Was in the mood for a weekend buffet and Sahara was just what I needed. Great spread of middle eastern delights including Kofta, Chicken, Lamb, and vegetable kebabs, curries, basmati rice and various trimmings. More importantly, you can tell this is family run with care. Each dish is high quality and seasoned well. Warm ambiance, with Pandora Radio playing a middle eastern station for background music. I’ll be back

I came to Sahara with my wife, and we absolutely loved. The place is ever so nicely decorates, and provides the calm delicious environment of a nice wholesome restaurant. With the elegant guitar playing in the background, I can’t help but think of being a character in a godfather movie. This place makes me feel like Marlin Brando and Al Paciono And the Persian food is absolutely delicious. ENJOYIT!

This place is a nice(but not upscale) restaurant that also sells many ingredients(mostly dry goods) with which you can make your own Persian food. We were here for the buffet, though, because we were pressed for time at lunch on a week day. The first thing I tried was really interesting, it’s called«tahdig», and it’s a rice dish with a sort of crust that almost seems like it’s a crispy unleavened bread, but I think it’s really just crispy rice. Either way, it’s golden brown and delicious. I also tried the kashkeh bademjoon, which is kind of a Persian baba ganousche; it wasn’t smoky, but it was creamy and good. Next up was a stuffed bell pepper called dolmeh felfel; other than the pepper itself being a little overcooked(probably the victim of the buffet warming trays), it had a delicious flavor, almost an vinegar-y note. It was stuffed with a rice and meat mixture. The kebabs(I tried chicken and a red meat one, perhaps lamb?) were very good, with an excellent lightly charred exterior and juicy interior. If there was something that didn’t impress that much, it was the shawarma(or whatever the Persian name for it is, shaved meat, like gyro) — it was OK, but not outstanding. All in all, though, this was a tasty meal at a good price, Give it a try!

Best kebabs I’ve had in a long time. Definitely going there again, highly recommended.

12.99 lunch buffet included delicious starters(hot and cold) and wide range of roasted meats and roasted or steamed veggies with warm pita bread served to the table. Definitely could have eaten my weight in those lamb gyro slices. Can’t wait until I’m hungry again so I can come back. This is probably the only buffet where I could only eat one plate before being fully satisfied. The food was so good it almost affected my ability to carry on a legitimate conversation during the meal. But that’s something I can live with.

What a find! $ 12.99 for an amazing lunch buffet — healthy and delicious. They even keep all the food hot which is so hard for buffets. The variety of delicious and clean meats is amazing. Also the soup of the day was an amazingly flavorful veggie/chicken something. Love this place :)

This is a great place if you want to try new food. It was delicious! I had hummus, beef, basmati rice, and chicken. The chicken was phenomenal. It was sooooo flavorful! My boyfriend is more experimental with food and tried everything. He didn’t like the fish but loved everything else!

Woooooow! Such good Mediterranean! Their hummus is out of this world! Some of the best I’ve had in such a long time. I also got the lamb kabob meal and it was delicious! Meat was full of flavor and succulent af! Grilled onions are yummy. The rice is slightly lacking but I will be back here many times!

One of the best places in Dallas to get Mediterranean food. They have a lunch buffet which includes items you would find in their a la carte menu such as beef kabob, lamb, chicken kabobs, rice, etc. The lunch buffet also includes salad bar and soup. The meats are flavorful, tender and also fresh. The dishes off their main menu come in big portions which will easily fill you up but still wanting more :)

I am Persian and have been to every Persian restaurant in DFW and this is by far the best one. Highly recommend it to anyone though… This place is great!!!

Sahara restaurant is a quaint little hole in the wall that offers up a small, narrow selection of food, as well as doubling as a small specialty store selling various spices and accoutrements. Their service is friendly and attentive, especially for just eating their lunch buffet. Onto the food: the meats here are excellent. They’re all seasoned great and bursting with flavor. The rice dishes they have are also a nice addition. Despite the awesome meat and rice dishes, the rest of the buffet is a little underwhelming. While they do change up the selection on a daily basis, the meats and rice are consistently the only good things. Sadly, their pita bread is flat and cold. With Sahara Restaurant, I’m torn between the juicy, mouth watering meats and the cold flaccid pita and other buffet options. While the only major negative is the pita bread, the rest of the dishes pale in comparison to the meats. You almost have a slope of different food qualities, with the pita being at the very rock bottom, then slowly climbing you have the various vegetarian buffet options, and then the rice dishes, and then finally, at the pinnacle of excellence, their meats. I definitely plan on coming back here, and would recommend giving them a try.

For all the vegetarians out there, be warned this buffet is not for you! My vegetarian friend found this place and we decided to go for lunch, but there wasn’t much she could eat on the menu… I on the other hand thought it was great! The meats were very tender and delicious and flavorful. I’m typically not a fan of the ground beef kabob, bc many times I’ve always found it dry, but not here! You can tell they really put effort into their meats. That being said, the rice is standard and their cold food option is limited and their pita is very thin and tough… Honestly if you like the standard meat and rice this place is for you but if you dont, I wouldn’t bother! Personally I will be back!

Delicious Persian food! The koobideh and the Sultani are awesome. If you want a less run of the mill option ask for the lamb shank. Weekends has live acoustic music as well.

My two visits have been for dinner only on Monday nights. Limited crowds, service was relaxed and attentive enough. What I DIDN’T realize was that Bobby Flay must have been grilling in the back, or at least that’s how it tasted. Excellent grilled meats. Juicy, flavorful and overall luxurious. I can’t quite decide what they do to the meats to give it this extra feel but they are rich. We have had the chicken thighs and the ground beef both times. The tahdig was a good starter: we got it with the lentil stew, and they were crispy, flavorful bites that I really enjoyed. The hummus and grape leaves are good also: vegetarian filling on the grape leaves and quite soft and delicious-almost like I remember back at the old Vincent’s Seafood when I was a child. If they could solve the pita bread conundrum(it’s just kind of average), improve the grilled tomatoes(maybe not ripe enough for me because I’m psycho about ripe tomatoes), and make the saffron rice a little less dry(I liked the rice-a-roni type rice at Ali Baba better), then I would gladly roll out star number five.
