Bevvy is a very patient guitar teacher and does well with kids, though I got the impression that she is more used to dealing with older kids/adults. I’ve also since learned that kids will do better with guitar if they start around 10 yrs old and their hands are a bit stronger. She also keeps her dog in the music room with her during the lesson. Might be ok for adults(assuming no allergies??) but was just one more distraction for my kid to have to filter out. This was not something that we found out until the first lesson, so just a heads up would’ve been nice. That being said, the office manager and office policies leave little to be desired and are, in my opinion, definitely not«client-friendly». Cancellation policy is essentially 60 days… unless you cancel the day before the first of the month. Not sure about you, but my child is a bit more fickle and doesn’t think that far ahead. When I requested any measure of flexibility on schedule or the policy, the office manager ignored my email and basically flipped me the bird. Guess they are comfortable with treating clients like expendable trash. Not a profittable way to run a business in my book. Thankfully, DFW has MANY other music lesson options, most of which are, at the very least, cheaper than ScottSound. I’ve been looking, and most run at least $ 20 – 40 a month cheaper.
