Seems like a great local bar. Hole in the wall feel, large screen TV’s, and just enough crap on the walls to make you feel at home. Only three stars because the nachos were average(at best). They were similar to movie theatre nachos. Kind of cold cheese, way too many jalapeños, chicken chunks from a bag, and salsa served on the side. I’d come back to drink but this won’t be my afterwork hangout.

Loved this place. Unfortunately I heard they closed and that their last day was 1÷31÷14. It will be missed, if that’s so!

This is excellent place to watch games. 3 Tvs over bar great quality. 1 projection tv in main area. Very rustic no frills bar décor. Clientele on Saturday night little sketchy. We had cheesy fries. They were good. Bar tender made a great drink. Great place if you are looking for authentic bar with«characters».

You wouldn’t know it, but they have great friggin food. I’ve had the beef sliders, buffalo sliders, club sandwich, and the taco salad. They were ALL good. Plus, its kind if a cool dive bar. They have 2 pool tables, a foosball table, and a shuffleboard table, video games, pinball, and TVs of course.

Laid-back bar that has everything you need: reasonably priced drinks, good burgers, big screens, a variety of parlor games, and even a pinball machine.

Maybe I was a bit out of sort at the time that I went but what I could recall was that it was chill fun for those who live downtown. It’s one of those nights when you don’t feel like going all out on a Friday or Saturday night but still want to get out of the house, this is the fitting place to go.

The good: This bar is a functional bar. If you ask for drinks, you will get the drinks you ask for. Three stars, because that’s what a bar is supposed to do. They don’t lose your tab, overcharge you or forget your order. The bartenders are okay. The food is bar food, and lives up to the description on the menu. Free peanuts in the shell! The bad: The jukebox here is the worst in Dallas. Not ironic or nostalgic, like Ships. Not party-fueled like The Grapevine. Not artsy and interesting like Amsterdam Bar. Just lame. It’s internet-connected, but any music the staff doesn’t want to hear is restricted, which is apparently any music made after 1995. I have never _not_been able to spend $ 5 in a jukebox, especially one with a search feature and internet access, until I accidentally put $ 5 into this one. The service here is inconsistent and sometimes unprofessional, which is fine for a neighborhood bar that’s been around for decades, but SE is just now trying to build its reputation. I have had to wait to be acknowledged a few times, which is understandable at a trendy meet market, but unacceptable for a dive. The bartenders have never remembered my order, and while nice enough, are not really the caliber you’d expect in a bar with this name. The barroom looks pretty bad for a brand new place, I can’t decide if it’s on purpose or not, but given the huge Budweiser logos everywhere, I suspect not. If you’re looking for something relaxed, try City Tavern. If you want something more out-of-the-way, O.E. Penguin is a better bet too. Skip Spread Eagle until they find their footing downtown.

Wow. After only a few days in Dallas I was hunting for a spot downtown to watch the Wildcard matchups, and my party and I couldn’t have been more pleased with Spread Eagle Saloon. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Brilliant from top to bottom. Not only is there loads of accommodating seating and enough bar activities to keep occupied during commercials, but our service was excellent. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? While I hesitated for a New York Minute at the prospect of paying $ 13.00 for 12 Buffalo Wings, my fears were alleviated after a single glance at THESEBABIES! What?! These were seriously the biggest wings I’d ever seen. Roughly $ 1 per wing? Gladly. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? WOW. I love wings, I really do, and as a result, I think I’ve grown a bit picky, but these were absolutely marvelous from start to finish. Big, meaty, and high quality, the sauce was good both in taste and quantity. Well done Spread Eagle Saloon, well done indeed. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I really want to throw the fifth star up here just because Spread Eagle Saloon is without question the best Sport’s Bar downtown. However, with so many great ones slightly further Uptown that attract bigger, younger, and slightly more fun crowds, I can’t say I’d come here every day. However, give the wings a go, because they’re the best wings in Dallas. No Star Granted.

This place turned out to be my favorite Bar in Dallas during my short vacation. Nothing really special about the bar itself, but the people were great. The two girls behind the bar were very attentive and quick to refill drinks. They were both really friendly, and not bad to look at, either. The manager was very welcoming, and most of the staff remembered us when we went back the following evening. Everyone made us feel like we were at home, even a couple of the regulars that we met. The place was clean and comfortable with nice, well placed TVs and plenty of bar games to keep the drunks entertained. The music was at a good volume, we could easily have a conversation without screaming at each other.

Awesome little bar. On Tuesdays they have $ 2 blondes & bombs. Their beer is only in cans, but they will give you a cold glass to pour it in. :-). I had the cheeseburger & fries and I have to say it was damn good. Cooked perfectly. The fries are spicy! I loved it. If you’re in the area definitely stop in.

I stopped by with a friend on an early Friday night after dinner. Spread Eagle looks like a fun place to chill over beer while playing games(they have pool tables, a shuffleboard, and a foosball table). But two things stood out for me. One, they don’t have Amstel Light. Boo. Two, holy cow it was hot. I mean, yea, there’s a heat wave in Dallas… but isn’t the interior supposed to provide some solace from the heat? If I ever go back, it will be when the weather cools off.

Finally, I took a moment to check out Spread Eagle. Upon entering, you sit yourself. I was solo so I copped a chair at the bar. The bartender asked my name, and addressed me by my name my entire visit. It was lunch, so it wasn’t crazy! I can appreciate, very much so, that they prepare their«bar food» in house. Of course, I had to order the Sirloin Burger. It was much better than I thought. The choice of meat was nice and filling. Almost tasted kosher. The patty was cooked just right, not too rare and far from well done. There was a surprising taste of chipotle and crispy onions in every bite. The lettuce and tomatoes on the burger were nice and fresh. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. It makes my tummy pout when I see sad lettuce and tomatoes on a burger. No mustard or mayo is needed. A burger you can actually eat just as it is brought to your table. I can’t forget the onion rings! They were lightly breaded and perfect. A guilty pleasure for sure. Believe it or not, all this was for 7 bucks at lunch. Where else does that happen at!!! And be goooooooooood!!! Now I just need a blue mat! I will be back to try out their drinks. Their drink list looks pleasing. Plus I must go back for some dart and shuffleboard time.

You don’t have to spread your wallet’s flaps far to enjoy a stint at the Eagle! I’ve only been for lunch, but have noted the drink/happy hour specials as well as the atmosphere. The space features a stage, lots of recreation(pool table, shuffleboard, darts), a nice squared-U bar, and several TVs. A nice little sports bar this is! The lunch menu is very affordable. For a sit-down joint, I know no Downtown digs that are this cheap. The burger(sirloin) comes with fries or onion rings(both good options) for $ 7. $ 7!!! That might get a sandwich at Which Wich, if you’re feeling stingy. Refillable sodas/teas are only $ 1.75. And the people on staff are always friendly and attentive. I plan on making my happy hour run soon. Looking forward to one of several appealing afternoon drink specials to wash the worry away after work. Give Eagle a chance!

Thank God a regular bar finally opened in downtown! What do I mean by «regular bar»? A place with beer, darts, shuffleboard, and good music. Spread Eagle Saloon has all those things AND giant barrels of peanuts that you can snack on. I’m not into the ultra lounge scene that was once dominated the nightlife of downtown Dallas. With some of the recent openings we’re starting to get a good variety, and this was an important add. If you’re a fan of the Deep Ellum bars, but live in or tend to frequent downtown, I recommend you come check this place out.

I almost gave up on this place after circling around looking for parking. I forgot you can’t park at certain meters before 6 in downtown. Then my wise friend text me to tell me there was a parking garage just down the street. Awesome! This place sort of reminds me of the Elbow Room with the dart boards, pool table and shuffle board. All beers are in cans, and they were out of the two I tried to order so the waitress suggested another option, and I really liked it. I’ll edit this if I can remember the name. We only stayed for one beer, because we weren’t in the mood to listen to the dude on stage signing. I’m not a downtown dweller, and have Deep Ellum in my back yard, so I don’t know how soon I’ll be back. It is nice to have options, though to watch games or go to for happy hour. I would like to come back and try the burger.

This. Is. Exactly. What. Downtown. Needs. If you live in downtown, you know that things aren’t always ‘bustling’ in the nightlife department, unless you’re a fan of Plush.(Ew.) Then, we got the Chesterfield. A little pricey, but a great addition. And nowwwwwww we have Spread Eagle, which is what I would describe as City Tavern’s sportier cousin. It’s a little more casual. There’s a pool table, shuffleboard, 2 dart boards and one of those touchscreen jukeboxes. Oh and even better? The drinks are strong and cheap. No drafts, only cans. In Downtown? Are you crazy? Misplaced? No, Spread Eagle Saloon, you’re not. You’re brilliant. Stay just the way you are. And I love you. I’ve been following their FB updates and apparently from now on they’ll have live music Thurs-Sat. Double yay! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I haven’t tried the food. And the only reason I haven’t tried the food is because I was basically standing in line on during the soft opening, and I think both times I’ve been was before the ‘official’ opening

My husband and I stopped by on a Friday night after a long work week. We are glad that they are now serving food. He had the burger and it was very good. It was much better than Chop House Burger around the corner. I had some sort of a pork sandwich. It was not what I expected but it was fantastic. The mustard they use is pretty spicy. The onion rings were to die for. The bartender who waited on us was very accommodating. I wanted a nice vodka drink so he made one for me that he thought I would like and I did. He’s creative in his mixology. I really like the laid back atmosphere. It is a great bar to hang out with friends. It is not pretentious which is what downtown needs. The prices were very reasonable. We will be back again and again.

Great addition to Elm Street in downtown! The Spread Eagle Saloon is exactly what downtown needs, a true bar! Good happy hour specials, and even better real games to play: shuffle board, real darts, pool, and there should be live music coming soon. The beer menu is ALL can beer, which is a pretty cool thing, you can drink it out of the can or pour it into a glass. There isn’t any tap beer or bottles, but with canning technology, it all tastes just about the same. There is also a good selection of spirits, top-shelf, mid-grade and rail; good Scotch selections as well. I can’t wait until the kitchen is up and running, the food menu looks spectacular! Stop on by, you’ll be impressed!

This is destined to become the next great hangout bar among downtown Dallas locals. Great food, a shuffleboard table, a pool table, great music, etc. Another great addition to the downtown Dallas scene. Update: Name recently changed from Spread Eagle Saloon to Scotty’s Elm Street Saloon. Still the same cool place but now with a better name.
