I usually avoid bookstore coffee shops but the Seattle’s Best in the Preston-Royal Barnes and Noble is definitely the exception. They have excellent service and make the best chai tea lattes I have yet to have. The last time I was in the barista asked if I had tried a blended chai tea rather than on ice. It was wonderful! I also appreciate the fact that they don’t upcharge the drink for blending. Good selection of pastries that look and taste fresh– recommend the raspberry cupcakes. Browsing for new reads, blended chai in hand is my new favorite way to get out of the heat and avoid a scorching Dallas summer afternoon.

I fell in love in Seattle’s Best. Hah. I’m sort of in jest but it’s sort of true too. My now-husband and I spent a significant amount of time during college in Chicago in our local Seattle’s Best, making eyes at each other. We were pissed when Starbucks bought them out and relegated them to Borders, but hey, at least they still exist. Every time I pick up a mocha from this Seattle’s Best at the Borders on Preston, it takes me back. Their coffee is very distinctive(or maybe it’s the chocolate?), and I LOVE it. Plus, they stick a little chocolate stick in your drink, which is so European. And… you can sit and browse the books all you want.
