I love a good shoe shine and Mr White did a very nice job. Well worth the six block walk.

As others have said, he is a great guy and does a great job. I do not work in the building to I pull into a meter spot, drop a few quarters in and take my shoes down to Don to work on while I hang out and drink a coffee. He charges $ 5 a shine but that is too cheap for his work, I tip him $ 2 – 3 per shine and he is worth it and still cheaper than airport shines which are usually $ 7-$ 10 before tip.

Went to see Don White based on Steve R.‘s review, and I can honestly say I am glad I did. Went to see him at his station in the basement floor of the Ross Tower(building has changed names from Lincoln Plaza to Ross Tower) next to the Starbucks at the bottom of the escalator. Big windows all around, lots of light. All I can say is WOW, I’m so glad I found this place! I have a pair of brown wingtips that I haven’t polished in a year because when I tried it myself, it ended up looking worse than they were before, so they were in need of some conditioning and shine to say the least. Took these to Don and they look as great as the day I bought them! Great conversation as well. $ 5 for the shine, but I’m sure you will want to reward his excellent handiwork on top of that. I’m a very satisfied customer that will definitely be returning to Mr. White for my next shine.

Mr. White does shoe shines(not repairs) right next to the Starbucks in the basement of Ross Tower downtown. Not only do I go see him when I need a shine, but I’ll go and spend my lunch break talking to him and listening to his stories from years ago. Mr. White is great man that I am thankful to have met. He is a treasure of downtown Dallas. Make sure you stop by to see him when you need a shine. You’ll be glad you did.
