If you want a great tasting burger made fresh when you order it then this is the best burger place in town. Been to Angry Dog, Twisted Root, 5 guys etc. Just as good if not better. The different selections of burgers and chicken sandwiches is great. Reasonably priced, very clean and very friendly staff. You can immediately tell that this particular location is under new management if you’ve visited in the past as I have. After reading some other posts it a wonder if they are ever«happy» when they go out. Also, shakes made with Hagen-Daz ice cream, it doesn’t get much better than that.

We came here for lunch a weekday. Prices were reasonable. The customer service was ok… the cashier felt unwelcoming and indifferent. Although they have some pretty good burgers and fries. My friend and I ordered the classic smash burger. I had the smash fries while my friend ordered the spicy ones. Onto their burgers – the buns are buttery and soft! The meat is kind of dry and just eh. I felt as if the buns made the burger. The fries were my favorite! It wasn’t too oily that it was yucky. It went great with my burger. My friend though, her spicy fries, weren’t that good. I would suggest the smash fries!

With all the burger options in Dallas, this one was just OK. Service was a bit rough with forgotten items and simple burger changes(no ketchup) confusing the order taker. This is fast casual style… order is taken at a register and then brought out upon completion. The menu is great, with many options. Burgers run on the small size, but I did see there’s an option for a larger size, obviously for an up charge. I think«regular» size should be just a bit bigger. My burger had so much mustard on it I could barely taste the flavored of the meat, cheese and bacon. The egg bun was tasty. Really Wish I could’ve tasted the actual burger. There are lots of potato options, however we tried two and were very disappointed. The Smash Fries had a sprinkling of flavor, but I couldn’t tell what… I had to add pepper. The buffalo fries looked like they just sprinkled hot sauce on them… you got a burst of flavor every few bites… I was glad the flavor didn’t cost more… but why offer it ?? The shakes were very tasty and actually the best part of the meal. Overall, just average here, and for the price point there are far better choices.

This is the worst location ever. Customer service was horrible. They didn’t make my food right and I brought it to the managers attention thinking he was going to come back to make it right and nothing!!! He obviously hates his job!

Love this place! The food is amazing & the service is great! Had the Sin City Burger today and it’s the best! I wish it was on the regular menu but then I would probably over do it. Lol. Never disappointed when I come here.

This is a great place to go for a quick bite if you’re going to/coming from the Angelika Theatre. Now as for rating the restaurant itself, the service is alright and the food was okay. What more can you expect from kids trying to get a little bit of job experience under their belt. I had to wait a couple of minutes at the register before I could order because the staff was busy talking with each other. I didn’t mind it too much because it was a slow time of day and because they were just kids. Now, because I was waiting for a movie I asked them if I could get my burger as soon as possible. I got my burger in roughly 10 minutes which was good. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It just tasted like any other Smashburger that I’ve been to, but the burger itself didn’t look as appetizing(in a way that you look at the burger in an advertisement and then you see it in person). Anyways, to summarize: Service was okay(could definitely improve), Food quality needs to be more presentable, Location is great for a quick cheap bite.

So it’s easy and convenient. Food is cooked to order. But the place runs so poorly! Placing an order always seems like an afterthought to the staff because they are doing other things. Drives me crazy to be left waiting in a line to place an order but they are just not taking the orders!

Tasted the burgers here for the first time and I am in LOVE. I think it actually beats Mooyah. Not a big fan of burgers but I am a fan of Twisted Roots, Mooyah, Jakes and if you love those chains… YOUCANNOTLIVEWITHOUTSMASHBURGERS. It really is WAY better than all those other burgers! HANDSDOWN. Or Bunsdown? I had the Jalepeno BBQ… Man! It’s awesome. BUT! despite the name, it’s not spicy at all! The bacon was cooked perfectly! The Meat was a machine in my mouth! DELICIOSO! Their smash fries were great too! I was expecting big fries but they were skinny fries– Gosh! Don’t judge though… It was heaven! The way it was prepared was just too good and too hard not to eat! You need to have them. — Italian olive oil + GARLIC+rosemary herbs= SMASH-TASTIC The BBQ, BACON&y Cheddar was a great second pick as well. I think the prices were pretty reasonable compared to other burger chains and this was definitely an awesome choice. Get the regular size cause you will be full from it. Unless you know you’ve got a big appetite then go for the large(just a dollar more). In my opinion, if smashburger gave the option of makin’ the burgers SPICY, It will be a 5 stars for me. Afterall, I did order the Jalepeno BBQ and did expect some kick to it! (Two regular burgers, one regular fries($ 1.99), a reg soda, tax=$ 17.07) I think without the extra burger and the soda, it would definitely be under $ 10(I rarely drink sodas but my friend does) Service= The most polite people ever! Atmosphere= AWESOME! but could clean up more since there was a couple of tables that were just full of leftover baskets. Still, it did not bother me– why? Cause I got to sit in a clean booth, have a great time and a satisfied stomach! In short, YES! I AM A FAN! and Heck yes, I’ll be back!

The food was pretty okay but nothing to rave about. I ordered the avocado burger and the amount of avocado in it was laughable. I personally feel like if the ingredient is part of the name shouldn’t I be able to taste it a little bit? I asked the staff for some more and they were really friendly and accommodating. I think the staff really impressed me the most at this particular Smash burger. I felt like they had really positive attitudes and were helpful and friendly to me. It help make my experience better. Going back to the food though… the fries had so much oil on them I had to use a napkin to soak a lot of it up. It was really gross and made me really self conscious about eating them. I might go back to this location out of convenience but I definitely won’t go out of my way to eat here.

We got hungry after leaving Angelika and Smashburger came to the rescue. I chose the Truffle Mushroom Chicken sandwich and it was so good! The chicken was seasoned just right and the mushrooms were tasty. On the side, I got the Smashfries. Thin fries with rosemary and olive oil. We dined in and that was probably best because you definitely want to enjoy it while it’s piping hot. If you prefer to-go service, you can call ahead. I will surely be back and try the burgers. You will not look at Burger King and Whataburger the same after having Smashburger.

Upon moving to Dallas about a few years ago, I thought Smashburger was a great burger joint. I was a fan of their Avocado Club burger and their smashfries(hand-tossed with garlic, rosemary and olive oil). I’ve been to a few locations: Addison, Mockingbird, & Uptown. As my memory(hopefully) serves me, my experiences were great. Fast forward to now, after trying numerous burger places in the DFW metroplex, and there are plenty, my opinions on Smashburger has changed significantly. I came here in December at the Mockingbird location, ordered my favorites, and I was surprised to find that the quality of food was not what I remembered it to be. The fries were oily, a bit overcooked, and lacked flavor, even when it was supposedly fixed with rosemary & garlic. My avocado burger was okay. Maybe it would have been better if they remembered to put AVOCADO in my AVOCADO burger. Needless to say, after trying places like Maple & Motor, Off-Site Kitchen, and even Keller’s, my desire to return to Smashburger has diminished.

Overview: This Smashburger is a casual, almost-fast-food restaurant that specializes in ground beef and chicken patty burgers, as well as milkshakes. Many people seem to come for take-out but it is a nice place to sit down and relax with a couple of people. The Food: Very standard burgers, oh-so-slightly below the quality of the Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr «Six Dollar Burgers» but higher in quality than the fare from McDonald’s and Burger King. I only ordered the chicken burgers and found them to be decent, but not special in any way. There are some options in terms of sauces(bbq, ranch) and cheeses(american, blue cheese) which may be helpful to those of you who are fans of particular burger toppings. I did try to use the online ordering app but this particular location does not seem to support online ordering :-(. Their side salads are also very«normal.» The Establishment: Very clean and located in a very nice outdoor mall on the border of the Highland Park neighborhood. I very much enjoyed the soft booth seating and the ample lighting. I came both for dinner and lunch and neither time was crowded whatsoever. The Service: You stand in line to order at the cash register but a server does bring you your food and take your food away when you are done. Self-serve soda fountains. Conclusions: Smash Burger is a high quality, burger and shake chain that has some fun additions like online ordering(not this particular location as of Dec, 2014), veggie burgers, and sweet potato fries, but doesn’t break the mold when it comes to «standard» burgers. I would have given it 4-stars had its pricing been similar to most ubiquitous fast food restaurants but due to its slightly higher prices(expect to spend more than $ 10 for a meal), I can only call it A-OK.

YAS! I had their veggie burger: 2 thumbs up! You could see clearly the black beans this patty was made with, and was very obvious, by looks and taste, that it was homemade-to-order. The fries, I wasn’t too impressed with. They were overly seasoned(read: too salty). It was delish and very good size. Because of this, the burger doesn’t come with fried; you have to order them seperately. The shakes tho! They are made with Haagen-Daz ice cream. ‘Nuff said. Creamy and amazing.

I’ve been to Smash Burger in several cities and now I know why I go so seldom. The atmosphere is trendy, modern, and clean so thumbs up on all those counts, especially the bathroom. Lord knows a dirty bathroom at a restaurant is an instant appetite suppressant. I ordered the classic Bacon Burger and Sweet Potato Fries w/no drink for a total of $ 8.96. That’s a decent price these days for a quality burger with fast service. It looked delicious. As it turned out, I took a bite and all the burger juice that should’ve been drained dripped into the basket. I had to lay out a napkin to catch it. I would compare the quality of the meat to that of a Steak & Shake burger in which you can get the same deal for $ 7.94 plus a drink. I’d hoped the sweet potato fries would save the meal. To my surprise, again, they were hard, like they’d been fried, but possibly still frozen in the center. And cut way too thin to be paying $ 2.29 per serving. Smash Burger is collecting way too much money on not-so-fresh fries, but they bill themselves as fresh food! To be completely fair, the service was quick, friendly, and it’s a little perk that they bring the food to your table and bus it at the end. Also, there is a movie theatre right around the corner, so it’s a good resort if you’re not looking for a pricey sit down place. If I go again, it’ll only be to try their hand-spun milkshake and MAYBE give the grilled chicken a chance. But, I’m afraid that for the price, you’re not getting the quality one would expect.

I LOVE smashburger! You guys nailed it in location, there are not that many restaurants and there’s always people walking by after they are done with their shopping not to mention the dart station is of walking distance and so accessibility it quite easy. The burgers are quite good, a little on the greasy side but you can ask them(nicely) if they could make yours a little less greasy. What you have to try here are the fries, the smash fries! Holy cow they are so good! Staff here is either a hit or a miss. Either they are extremely friendly and helpful or you will be mostly ignored when you need something and the responses you get out of the one person you were able to get are very robotic. Other than that, the burgers keep us coming back and they are delicious!

3.5 stars. This was our first Smashburger experience, and there were things we liked and things we didn’t. Customer service here was pretty cold. We came in during off-peak hours and were initially the only customers in the place. After looking over the menu, we walked up to the register, smiled, and I said«hi, how are you?» to the guy behind the counter. Without looking at us he managed to flatly ask if it was for here or to go. Alllllllrighty then. DH and I both ordered the jalapeño BBQ burger and we decided to try the haystack onions and the smash fries. The burgers were definitely more on the greasy side, but I really enjoyed the fresh, grilled jalapenos and the bun was also delicious. DH and I disagreed on the cheese. I love the melty cheese but I’m not a fan of the overwhelming processed«cheese product» taste that came with it. DH, on the other hand, loved it. For BBQ being in the name, the BBQ sauce on our burger was virtually undetectable. Haystack onions were good as was the dipping sauce. Smash fries were okay but probably wouldn’t pay the extra dollar to order them again. I gave it 3 stars, husband gave it 4, so 3.5 it is. If the staff was friendly and less icy, that would be a great start towards improving the experience. We’ll give it another try.

Smashburger was not quite as smashing as I had hoped for it to be. With so many different burger places to compete with, it will have to make some changes to it’s lackluster customer service and greasy burgers. Smashburger has a variety of burgers available that offer different tastes without going over the top with unique combos that so many other gourmet burger places do. I decided on a Swiss mushroom burger while my husband tried the avocado club. The cashier’s obvious unhappiness at being at work put a slight damper on my mood, but no worries — we only had to deal with her surliness for a few minutes before she gave us a number to bring to our table. We sat at a booth as far away from the vents as possible in an effort to find a warmer spot. While the tall dividers do offer privacy, it made an already chilly room feel even colder and less welcoming. Our burgers came out quickly. That could have been because my cheese was not given enough time to melt nor my mushrooms enough time to cook. Instead, I was presented with a greasy burger with cheese melted on the edges and mushrooms cooked on the edges. Luckily, my husband’s club burger with its fresh avocado looked much more appetizing than mine. Now I can enjoy a greasy burger every now and then, but this one gave me no desire to continue eating it. Luckily, I got a side salad to be «healthier,» and at least the small bit of greens cleansed my palate; unfortunately, there were far too many bacon bits and cheese to make it truly healthy, and there was an overwhelming amount of onion in the salad… do not get it if you’re on a date! Unless onion-breath is your kind of thing… Also, their french fries were DRENCHED in oil. While I liked the touch of rosemary, we had to leave the bottom ones because they were SOAKED in grease. The burgers were not inedible, but I’d rather spend my money and calories elsewhere to eat a greasy burger that leaves me actually wanting to eat it.

Nice spot and it was nice inside. It was cold in there– maybe because I just worked out. But I believe my food sat there for a couple of minutes before it got to me– so it wasn’t hot when I got it. It was even colder– only because I ask for mayo and it wasn’t on my burger so I had to wait to get some. The taste— I really can’t say it was good only because I had the Smash-Burger in Tyler Tx. It’s a difference– the meat was thinner and the bacon was a step from being breakfast bacon.(thin) I ate all the onion strings even though they held no heat what so ever. It wasn’t worth the $ 12 at all– but I know it’s the location. The service– was good from the jump. Nice and helpful when I needed a to go box for a burger I didn’t finish. But I will say separate the person who sweeps the floor from the person who passes out the food. It was a turn off. Can’t say don’t go to them but I will say make a trip to Tyler TX.

A really good burger is always great, but a healthy burger is a treat. This place gives you a selection of burgers with lots of veggies to chose from. I had the avocado burger and it was great, the patty was cooked to perfection and all the other veggies blended nicely. I have to come back and try all the other burgers on the menu.
