ITs the only place I go to get my hankering for BBQ satisfied! They are friendly & the food is always succulent & tasty!

I’m a regular call in and pick up customer. Not a chain and they have great bbq! Ribs are delicious, and the brisket stuffed baked potato with all the fixings is a must!

Amazing! I had a groupon and they were very friendly! The pork ribs were fabulous and I subbed the beans and potato salad for fries. The food was delicious and the ribs fell off the bone! I’ll totally be back!

Being from Dallas and knowing about REAL barbeque, I have to say this was the worst BBQ I’ve ever had in my life. They served the BBQ sauce on the side and it was like red colored water. No consistency to it at all. The only reason I went was because H&J up the street was closed. Save yourself the trouble. My wife had what I can only assume was a chopped beef sandwich served on white bread slices. Vinegar based BBQ has no bearing in Texas. Never again…

found this little dive while out late one night, saw that lights were on and a couple of cars were in the parking lot. hmm — i had to investigate — after all, it was 11:50 and i was hungry. that first time i had the rib sandwich sauced. they give you around 5 or 6 healthy pieces of ribs in between 2 pieces of white bread with just the right amount of sauce — not drowning and not dry. second visit(again at around 11:45pm on a friday night) and they were OUTOFBRISKET!(and almost everything else — they were down to just ribs and links) grrrr. i was not thrilled, but figured it gave me a good reason to come back again… so i just had another rib sandwich, this time with sauce on the side and husband had their link sandwich. i now prefer the ribs with sauce on the side — their ribs really are so yummy and it allowed for the full flavor to come thru. but dang their sauce is excellent. husband’s link sandwich was good(i don’t see the point — i can make it at home) so i probably wouldn’t order it for myself. husband loved it and he’s VERY picky about links. last visit(just made it in before they closed at midnight) i had the super beef potato. it’s a HUGE baked potato topped with butter, cheese, sour cream, brisket(lots of brisket) and sauce. OMG — it was beyond good. not shy with the butter, cheese or sauce, everything on this behemoth just vibed together. of course it’s big enough to feed a small army(not really) i absolutely DIDNOTWANTTOSHARE this one, but had to concede defeat at the halfway point. i just couldn’t finish it. so overall i would definitely recommend this place, just try to catch them when they haven’t run out of most of the menu

My husband and I are food snub and avid cooks. We normally are not impress with other people’s BBQ’s. Even it’s from popular BBQ restaruants in Dallas area. I found that most of Dallas BBQ spot cooks meat will full of smoke flavor but lack in seasonings. This place does both. This is our go to spot when we are craving some good BBQ Ribs and don’t want to spend two days preparing for it. By far the best BBQ Ribs aound. I do not recommend their BBQ Turkey. It turns out that they just smoke store bought Turkey Sandwich meat which is disguising. Pricing is ok. You’ll spend a little bit of money for good BBQ anyways.

Best BBQ potatoes! Huge potatoe, couldn’t finish it! The building itself leaves a lot to be desired, but food is really good.

I got a feeling Will should stick to Tony Roma’s so he can feel at home. The Ribs I had last Monday on my way to DAL were really good(great for the price)…and I swear that was the most AWESOME mac n’ cheese I’ve ever tasted. It’s gonna be a regular stop from now on for sure!

Well Will P, excuse me and my non-discerning(yes, I did just correct your poor spelling) race(nice save with choosing the word demographic… we all know what you meant though), but I have to completely disagree with you. I like to pride myself on several things which include being educated and also being a bit of a foodie. Smokey Joe’s is absolutely a long time Dallas staple with the best loaded baked potato in the game. It is completely chalked full of chopped beef, cheese, sour cream, butter and just pure baked potato goodness. And I bet you are wondering if there is any way they could make it better… well, they did by making the serving size SUPERHUGE. I also really love their BOB and their hotlink sandwiches. I will caution though on getting some of the other meats. I am a bit of a BBQ chicken snob, but I know plenty of people who love it. I am also a big fan of the funny, sassy service I get every time I am in there. I also love that the building has not changed since I was a little kid. Even though I am no longer a «non decerning demographic» resident«in the heart of oak cliff», I find it lovely that I can still return and run into friends I grew up with who are there to get BBQ baked potatoes too.

The beef baked potato is hands down best potato I’ve ever had. And the lemon cake is so moist and full of flavor the bbq itself is okay at best. i’ve had much better throughout texas.

Very over rated worse BBQ I’ve ever had, I was very disappointed in the quality of the meat and flavor. Im not sure if I will give this place a second or a third chance.

Don’t waste your time… the cheapest quality meats, very dry, incredibly expensive. Perfectly placed though in the heart of oak cliff, w/a non decerning demographic.
