Picked up a take out order — Bought the Super Chuck Wagon with 2 extra pounds of meat. The sides were hot, fresh, and flavorful! The meats were as tasty as it gets! We have 8 big guys here at the shop and it feed everyone. Food was great, and this time we received the Texas toast that was missing from the order last time. Thank you for making that right! Great selection — good service — fair prices! Thank you! We look forward to the next time! Redneck Diesel Performance

On a cross-country trip across the southern states and as we routed through Texas it was a must to seek out some good BBQ. Looking for a quick pit stop along the way I selected Soulman’s off of Unilocal. The reviews didn’t do the joint justice. I didn’t have above mediocre expectations. To my delicious delight was blown away with Smokey, tender, saucey goodness(the house sauce is really good). I went all out because I love Texas bbq and ordered the three meats plate. The brisket was moist, perfect amount of smoked flavor and near melted in my mouth. The ribs were tender and perfect with a nice bbq glazed finish, the turkey was average. I did get to try the sausage and that was second favorite, next to the brisket. Side of Mac and cheese thrilled me and the mashed potatoes were delicious. I washed it all down with some long awaited Southern sweet tea. Sweet tea in the south just taste so much better. I ate my fill of a man size portion platter and yes, I ate the whole damn plate it was that good. Best meal on our road trip and would recommend.

As far as the side dishes goas far as the side dishes go… The potatoes o’brien and the cabbage have decent flavor with a little bit of a kickthe potatoes o’brien and the cabbage have decent flavor with a little bit of a kick(and that’s good because I’m one of them type of people who like spicy food but not HoTTT !!!

Love the food, good quality cooked meat. First time there, although I shall say that there isn’t a place to clean up after yourself whether you do or dont. I ended up just leaving some of the trash on the table before leaving.

I have been rolling by this place for years and never went into it. Definitely a big mistake going in here. The décor inside of the place is the only great thing about it. Cons: no great BBQ smell, prices are too expensive for such low quality, the chopped beef sandwich has lots of fat chopped into it(normally companies try this to stretch meat); the buttermilk pie had grease dripping out of it, bbq sauce for the chopped beef was very bland. Given, when we walked inside there was no hospitality or greeting so this list of things that don’t add up reflects in the service too. $ 9 bucks for a fatty sandwich and grease dipped buttermilk pie? I WILLNOTBEBACK!!!

Mediocre barbecue in the Big D? Say it ain’t so! Just ate the brisket, brisket is stock-in-trade for a smokin’ joint, but this stuff tasted like it hadn’t been within 10 miles of a smoker. Is Soulman’s turning into another Sonny’s?!(another barbecue chain I recommend avoiding.) Apparently for some restauranteurs the word«barbecue» is just a marketing ploy. Surprisingly the pork ribs were decent(but not great, so 2 stars is about right.) Sorry to disappointment y’all, but there is great barbecue in Dallas, this just ain’t it.
