The last bar in the chain of my NYE bar hopping night lol. We decided to come here after HG Spply started kicking us out after midnight. Never been here before and didn’t know what to expect besides the fact that they stayed open until 2am that night, plus we stayed in the hotel not too far from here, so that works out. We got lucky with the parking, got the very first spot in their parking lot. No entrance fee on NYE, and it was pretty popping inside when we arrived. Our friends who arrived before us were able to grab the only pool table in the house(not sure if they had any other pool table on the other side of the room or not, I was too occupied to pay attention lol). I proceeded to hit the bar and grab myself a drink. Forgot to keep my ID on me the first time, came back a second time with it, and the bartender took a damn long look at my ID, but not the side with the BD on it, until he finally decided to give me my ID back and tell me he wanted to make sure it’s my picture on the ID since I’m «the most good looking girl» he has met doing what I do. It was dark, he was probably tipsy working on NYE, but that did get me a free drink and another extra large drink later on, so I was a happy camper and completely satisfied with this place lol. One of the guys in our group got a little drunk and started acting out of character, but the bouncer was nice enough to not kick him out, just continue keeping an eye on him. Just for those reasons listed, and overall a great time that we all had there(except for one of our friends that spent her whole time in the restroom throwing up), I will definitely come back to see what else they have to offer, more sober this time of course!

Quick look rating: 4⁄5 Food & Quality, 5⁄5 Service, 4⁄5 experience. Casual laid-back place! They are known for their drinks, the sunny day patio and dog loving area out front. It’s been a fun place in the past to join friends to visit. (Years back they would have great sushi and sake tastings and specials across the street the the Hotel Stoneleigh. After wards our group would come over to continue our visits.) If you’re in the area, come by visit, even bring the pup to sit out front!

Great bar opposite hotel, that has far better food and service at a 3rd of the costs of hotel bar. Open late and has a pool table too

Holy Smokes gang. I just moved back to Dallas. Simply put one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Great grill flavor, bun and accompanying onions, pickles, mustard and lettuce. Hard to beat!

Worst service I’ve ever had. Camera(I think that’s her name) is possibly the rudest bartender I’ve ever had.

I was staying across the street at the Stoneleigh with a wedding group. The beers were cold and cheaper than the hotels. The wait staff was nice and the food was good. If you a food snob this is not the place for you. If you want to hang out with friends, grab a burger and a beer– this is a great place. We went Fri and very late Sat night(arrived at 12:45 am — and they made up burgers!!). Waitress was a sweetheart. Enjoyed it a lot.

This is the first place that I ate in Dallas, and man was it an awesome Hamburger. Nothing fancy or over the top. Just a good awesome delicious slab of meat with your normal backyard bbq toppings. Keep up the great work! Oh their beer is cold too!

I’ve driven by for many years and never knew what a great spot I was missing out on. This is now one of my new Dallas favorites. Drinks and bar food are very affordable. Free parking and a great pet friendly patio make this a more desirable spot for me. Never crowded and has plenty of room for groups of friends. TVs, pool table, and a few video games are what every chill bar should have. I’ll be back soon Stoneleigh P(the p stands for pharmacy but there isn’t any meds here anymore)

While I was in Dallas last week for training we stayed at an upper scale hotel right across the street. While the hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly I decided to check this place out. It was exactly what I was looking for! Kind of divey, great music, great food, a pool table, golden tee, a strong drink and a great patio out front. If I’m ever in Dallas again I would love to stop back by this place.

How do you judge a local bar-bar? Regulars will always five-star it and forgive the flaws. Visitors will compare it to every other spot in the city. Can you judge it as you would a full-service restaurant? Or should you expect less and give them a pass? This place is an old pharmacy with a history that has been converted to just one step up from a dive bar. Dated, tired décor but appropriate for a bar-bar, and very different than its Uptown business neighbors. Some things are endearing like the reading stand filled with magazines, or the pharmacy mock-ups lining the walls and display cases. Spacious inside yet comfortable, nice covered patio out front, a good vibe. Now it gets ugly: Beer selection is respectable but lines are infected, every beer, and they don’t even know it. Pints were filled foamy and overflowing onto the floor and the bar, sloppy and sticky. Full menu that includes sandwiches, some Tex-Mex, breakfast/brunch out of a small ersatz kitchen open to the seating area. If something burns and you’re seated at the bar, yeah, you’re getting a face full of it. I’d heard the burgers were good so I had the Rancho Deluxe Cheeseburger, the special feature of this place. Did I say special? It’s the regular burger with a side of «chipotle mayo,» note the quotation marks. Side of Zapp’s potato chips, as listed on the menu? Those are premium, would love some but, no, generic store-brand plain chips. Burger was decent but only of summer cookout or Whataburger quality — bar food, nothing exceptional. I would expect just a little more from something facing the lux of the Stoneleigh right across the street. Unfair to judge it as a quality restaurant but the two-stars is mainly for the drinks, which were bad. If you’re gonna be a bar-bar, at least get that part right.

On the recommendation of a friend, we stopped by Stoneleigh P for a beer late in an evening after a show downtown. They had talked about how it was a really laid-back and casual bar with great beer and great service. As to these claims: Laid-back: For the neighborhood, I’ll absolutely give them that. It’s not an uppity-uptown bar. Good job. However, the atmosphere was really ruined by way-too-loud music pumping through the speakers. The bar was maybe 1⁄3 full and I was shouting across a table just to be heard by my wife. If they’d turn the music down by about half, this bar could have great potential as a «laid-back» bar. Great beer: They had a good selection on draft, I’ll give them that. Didn’t amaze me, but it was a good selection. Mostly all locals, which was good to see in a city that has a great local beer scene. Served well too, right temperature. Each of our pints was $ 6, which is a wee on the high side for what we ordered(a Community and a Revolver), but not bad. Great service: I can definitely see this. The server we had was very friendly, very knowledgeable on beer, and attentive. Had the list of beers on tap memorized well. We didn’t sit at the bar but I can definitely imagine that the other reviewers are right in their assessment of how good they are. Overall, it’s not a bad bar by any stretch, but how incredibly loud it was in there was a real turn-off. I wouldn’t turn down a visit in the future, but I wouldn’t be likely to plan a visit by choice.

This is a bar where one goes to drink. That may sound redundant, but if we’re being honest with ourselves, when we go out to a bar(especially in Uptown) we’re more focused on the crowd, the music, or the hot bartender. At «The P» you don’t need to worry about any of that. It’s a refreshingly classic bar in a neighborhood seriously in love with itself. The long wooden bar is plain, the tables and chairs are generic, and the pharmacy motif is dated, all of which I love about this bar. Never change P.

A pretty . Nothing fancy, more of your no frills bar. The waitress said they make everything fresh and in house so that’s a plus. Our waitress has been nice and very efficient. I ordered the turkey sandwich based off a review and I ended up getting a cup of soup instead of chips or whatever. I loved the sandwich. It was fresh and just the right amount of turkey and toppings with garlic mayo. Nice! I originally got the tortilla but it was a bit salty for my liking with the turkey sandwich which already was salty but not too. So I ended up going with the black bean soup which was perfect. I love their tortilla chips too. They were nice and hearty. I could see myself coming back. Good food. Will try more items. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. MAYBE on an update it’ll bump up to 4.

I usually feel pretty terrible for having to write a bad review. However, after a good evening prior to visiting Stoneleigh P, I felt it was very necessary. A medium sized group with myself and some of my work colleagues came here after a late work event, we had some drinks, some of us had food and was the last place of the evening. However, 2am sharp, our drinks we’re pretty close to being ripped out of our hands, the food remaining was forced to be boxed up and a man with a burly voice yelled from behind the bar telling us to get out. There was a fair sized group of us and we spent a lot of money here. We were not rowdy or rude — I don’t think letting us stick around for a bit to talk and finish our drinks would have dramatically ruined your 2am cleanup or post work plans. You have done an excellent job demonstrating to your customers what they mean to you, Stoneleigh P — nicely done.

Sometimes when you’ve had a rough day at work, you want to go to a spot where the bartender can tell you need a double just by looking at you. That’s what I got at Stoneleigh P, and I couldn’t be happier. The menu is basic bar stuff. I haven’t eaten a lot of it, so I can’t comment directly there. However, the drinks are well-made and they have a pretty good rotation of beers. This is a relaxed place to go when you want to unwind. I wouldn’t come here expecting the greatest service or the best food — it has a more casual, relaxed vibe. That may not be what you’re wanting or expecting in this area. If that’s the case, there are plenty of other options that are nearby. Overall, if you want a no-frills experience with a little bit of character, you can do worse than Stoneleigh P.

First and foremost this place is a bar. A bar with some history in a cool building and great patio. Their beer is cold and drinks well poured. They’ve got a small but good rotating selection of drafts and Coors and the like in cans. Prices are reasonable and they make a killer hamburger with decent fries(skip the rest of the menu). The atmosphere here, like the bartenders and regulars, is pretty laid back. Table service is a little uneven. Often it seems that the wait person must have just walked off the street and was handed an apron. Don’t let that harsh your buzz, just consider it part of the charm.

I’ve lived in Dallas a long time and I have been to the Stoneleigh P a lot over the years. Many times I have gone I’ve had a great time. My last trip for lunch on a Saturday was a disaster. I met some friends from out of town and I was expecting a nice laid back lunch. Food and service were so bad it was comical. I am a super nice guy, work hard for my money, I have busted my ass working in restaurants… so to get major attitude from a waiter totally sucks. Then the food. The french fries must have been cooked hours before. Soaked in oil and cold, dreary and limp. The best thing about the hamburger was the bun and the garlic mayo. I don’t know what the heck was going on with the burger meat. It seemed to have way too much Worcester sauce or something else really funky. So to make matters worse, I did something stupid. I left my credit card in the bill folder. I forgot to tip, sign and take my card… but my friends did take care of their tabs. I got distracted or something and made that mistake. I came back a couple hours later to see if it was still there. I was cool if they did not have it and I would just cancel it but the attitude when I asked about it was bizarre. I was thinking they might have it in the register but they would not even look. Unfortunately, my waiter was gone and the bartender and other staff thought I had lost my mind when I asked about the card. When I told the bartender which waiter we had, he said«buddy you might want to cancel that card». I laughed and left.

Don’t stray far too from the burgers, and you’ll be fine… For a place that’s known for it’s burgers, they do serve a pretty good burger. I’m not a fan of their pumpernickel buns, but the ciabatta buns are A-OK. Salads are good too — they’ve got a pretty killer Cobb-ish salad with chicken, avocados, and the rest of the kitchen sink in a bowl. I ventured down to the Mexican side of the menu a couple of times, with mixed results. Pulled pork tacos were quite tasty(and listed on the daily specials board). A later plate of beef enchiladas tasted about like the crap you might make at 2:30 in the morning — you know, making a mess of the kitchen, clogging the sink with the half-eaten slop, and invariably leaving the fridge door open. So, yeah. Stick to the sandwiches and salads. The building is cool, the patio is nice, and the location is good. However, the service can range from passable all the way down to rude, all from the same waitress — go figure. More than once, I’ve walked out after I got tired of waiting for her to stop at my table*. One time, the waitress made eye contact several times, noticed me, and gave the be-right-with-you Heisman about 5 times before I got tired of it and left. These were all instances where I walked in, sat down, and waited… sometimes for half an hour. Having said all that, I do enjoy eating a burger on their patio from time to time. I just wish it wasn’t such a pain in the ass to do so sometimes. *No, I’ve never walked the check.

The food is pretty basic, but the porch and cocktails make it a safe bet for dinner and drinks with friends. It’s a very casual place, but the old building gives SP enough character to keep it charming. Prices and service are fair, certainly good enough but not noteworthy. Parking is available in the lot next door, which is a nice change from the often forced forced valet.
