One of my go-to’s. Good service, good food, great selection. Unlike other sushi places you can get grilled items. Love the skewers. It’s a little pricey, but from what I have seen most good sushi is a little expensive.

You know, for all the CRAZYGOOD reviews I wasn’t that impressed… Service was fine and all. The menu was pretty large and in-charge(red flag) and expensive honestly. The food was okay. I think that’s the thing… It was just okay. Expensive… I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

The ceviche appetizer was INCREDIBLE. My first time trying ceviche, and it was fresh and light and delicious. However, the sushi was extremely pricey and very bland. It tasted like sushi from Walmart. The staff were rude, the restaurant was way overcrowded, and overall the experience was not good. Would not come back.

Had car problems, pulled into the strip mall to wait for help and when hubby arrived we had dinner because I was so stressed. I don’t handle car problems well. So I’m a wreak, we walk in and immediately the stress just flows right out of me, I sit down and take a deep breath. Great customer service always helps me relax. Everything we ordered was great, very tasty, great service, highly recommend! Even offered me free ice cream because I had a bad day!

The lunch special here is good for the money. The bento box special is around 8.99, but that is if you like grilled food plus a side. My party also ordered the sashimi plate, chicken katsu, and some sushi. The sashimi was not very fresh in my opinion, but it was a sample of every fish they had. I was a bit disappointed in how small the bowl was, but for 16.99, I’m not sure if it was worth it. I’d like to come here to try the ramen again, and probably update my review when I get a better experience.

This is usually one of my favorite sushi spot, due to the great quality of food and excellent service. Unfortunately, when I went to visit this time, everything was subpar. I brought my friend here as she wanted to try good sushi in Dallas and I told her that she wouldn’t be disappointed. We were seated immediately and given waters, but service immediately went down from there. We were looking over the menu but couldn’t find the one for roll descriptions. Even when we were looking around the restaurant for our server, she never came to ask. Eventually after about 10 minutes, she finally stops by to refill our waters and we finally ask for the roll descriptions. It finally took about 15 – 20 minutes for our server to finally take our order… But onto the food! We started off with the takoyaki, which is always delicious! We then got some robata items(chicken, beef, and beef tongue). My friend and I agreed that the beef tongue was the best out of all 3. My mouth is watering just thinking about it… My friend has never tried nigiri in Dallas so we ordered the uni, saba, and hamachi. My friend said the texture of saba was a little too mushy for her taste, but other than that the quality of the other fish were pretty good. We also got 2 other rolls… other than the dragon roll, I can’t remember the name… but the other roll was delicious and had enough spiciness to it that even though I was so full, I couldn’t stop eating. We finally ended the night with the crème brûlée! My friend and I had to fight each other on who would lick the plate. So delicious and had caramel taste to it. Hopefully the next time we visit again, the service will be better! And we won’t have to flag down a waitress for the check and a Togo box…

Came for a birthday party. I ordered tuna tower, miso soup and gyoza. Overall, the food was fine, not bad but not the best I’ve had… i thought the portion size was pretty good, enough food for what you pay. Service was kind of slow; I couldn’t find my waitress for most of the night and ran out of tea for 30 – 40 minutes before I got a refill. The waitress was nice but wasn’t very available. Overall I thought the food was pretty average. Service could’ve been better. Im gonna come back to try other things on the menu; they have an extensive menu, before I make a final judgement though.

This place will always be one of my favorite places for fresh, traditional sushi. The décor and atmosphere exceeds most expectations when you realize it’s in a small shopping complex which has a Bank of America and albertson as its neighbors. I’ve been here plenty of times and i had never been disappointed with service. At times, I recommend making a reservation because they do tend to fill up. The food here has never disappointed me. They have a yaki tori menu and yaki tori bar side as well as a sushi bar side. Extensive sake list. I’ve only ordered beer and sake here so I assume that’s all they have. I would recommend this place for all occasions. Whether it be a date night, quick lunch, or even a casual girls or guys night. You can’t go wrong with a little bit of everything on their menu for everyone. Bento boxes and all!

«I’m a foodie», I say. I must continually try out the new hot spots. I cannot, must not, repeat. Well, sometimes, the rule must be broken. Sushi Robata is one of those that make my small list of continual repeats. Japanese food, I mean, semi-healthy right? Nothing here is absolutely spectacular, but everything here is always good. I’ve ordered almost everything from the menu at one point in time, and never had had anything I didn’t like. Go ahead and challenge this… I dare you. The name Sushi Robata is misleading. You don’t go here for fantastic sushi. The real charm in Sushi Robata, is the fact that you can get all sorts of Japanese food. There is a huge assortment beyond just sushi, which for such a big place that Dallas is, this is really rare. I love going and ordering a small order of sashimi, followed by a shared bowl of soup(ramen, udon — did I mention the udon is spectacular, almost reminds me of Marukame Udon in Oahu, etc…) and a few small plates(usual favs include the hamachi kama, the enoki wrapped bacon and the agadashi tofu). Unfortunately, even though this is in the burbs, the secret is out. This place is always packed for lunch, and unfortunately, dinner. The first time I came in on a Friday night and they asked if I had a reservation, I was SHOCKED. Asian places don’t require reservations! Well, yes they do. Plan ahead guys.

Today, there were tons of people even though it was pouring outside. I ordered salmon sashimi, tonkotchu ramen, volcano roll and sea urchin eggs. Salmon was good but sea urchin was not fresh I feel. I think there were so busy that the service was not as good as the other times.

I’ve been here soooo many times, and it has always been my favorite place to get sushi, and authentic Japanese food. I’ve never been let down! I always like to order the takoyaki or agedashi tofu appetizer and some spicy tuna rolls and other sashimi. Their sushi always tastes really fresh. Their desserts are very good as well, specifically the fried banana! Lately, I’ve been really enjoying the tempura udon. Definitely hits the spot!

I moved to the DFW area in the last year and I have been searching for a sushi place I can call home. Sushi Robata is now going to be my go to sushi home. Food: I started with the bacon wrapped Enochi which was tasty. My only wish was the bacon be crispier. Overall, it had a great smoky flavor and the Enochi gave a great texture like chicken. I finally was able to experience a tuna tower and my belly was happy I chose this gem. If words like raw tuna and caviar scare you, get outta the box, because tuna tower will be your new love. I know it is mine. I also had their sushi special which was the Paradise roll and I banged on the table several times like Sally in Harry Met Sally saying«this is so good» over and over. My last roll was the Dallas roll. Rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Need I say anymore? Service: Everyone was friendly and helpful. Service was attentive and the restaurant has a dimly lite atmosphere. Their menu is epic. It took my about 20 mins to look through the two menus and specials list. A bit overwhelming because I wanted everything in the menu. I’m looking forward to trying more of what they have to offer.

This place has been dubbed our new family restaurant by my parents, both of whom spent more than 5 years in Japan. The vibe is pretty modern and Japanese. A little dark, but nice, quiet, and calm. Black walls, cool wall hangings, etc. Looks upscale. The service is okay. Everything gets done, but Asians tend not to be too overly hospitable, which I understand. I really like the Bento Boxes for their customizability. You can choose 2 main dishes, and there are a lot of options. My favorites in no particular order are the Grilled Salmon, Teriyaki Beef, Shrimp Tempura, and Potato Croquette(like fried mashed potatoes). I’ve also tried their Salmon Rolls plate, which was fresh and tasty. Nothing super special, but still great. They also have a nice strawberry shortcake! It comes with coffee, and it’s not too sweet. Nice fluffy sponge cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Pricing was pretty good for Japanese food. Not too expensive, and the lunch special Chicken Katsu is a good, cheap option. All in all, a dependable clean place to eat. Nothing extremely unique, but nothing really wrong with it.

This restaurant is comparable to Sushi Sake in Richardson. Can’t go wrong with authentic Japanese food and lots and lots of small plates! What I like so much about these kinds of Japanese restaurants is that you can sample a little bit of everything. I tried their grilled eggplant with Bonito flakes(I made a video of it). The flakes they put on top actually move. It’s really the heat that’s giving the impression it’s alive, but I thought it was pretty cool. Honestly, I did not like the the dish mainly because it had no taste. My suggestion would be to add a little bit of flavoring to it, unless the purpose of the dish was to be plain. Sushi is always fresh. No complaints about it. Futomaki roll — probably one of my favorite rolls. It’s very filling and the shitake mushrooms inside have some subtle sweetness inside. Less is definitely more. Off al the things I tried. vegetable tempura(made to look like fries), Chirashizushi, tori tsukune and miscellaneous sushi orders. This place is not for your Americanized Japanese-food-eater, but they do offer California and Alaskan rolls to accommodate.

You know. … not sure about this place. Rave reviews, but not impressed. Great atmosphere, but I’m here for the food. So So at best. I really want to like this place. The best thing I’ve had so far is the salmon sashimi with Miso. Tasty

I would give it 3.5 if I can. The atmosphere is nice, a bit on the dimmed side. Service is good. For the price you pay, it’s a great place. But I would classify its sushi to be slightly above average. Their menu is pretty large.

We came with a huge party on a Friday night, and good thing we made reservations beforehand! Be aware that they won’t seat you unless your entire party has arrived. I got a Chu-Hai Calpico(shochu mixed with a yogurt drink), and it was really delicious. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, the takoyaki(fried octopus balls), the bacon-wrapped enoki, and the chawanmushi(steamed egg custard). The takoyaki was SO yum. They crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had great flavor. The bacon-wrapped enoki was ok and a little too smoky. The chawanmushi was initially not as flavorful as I had hoped, but became really delicious once I dug to the bottom, where all the seafood was. The ramen pleasantly surprised me. I was expecting it to not be good, but I thought the broth had wonderful flavor. The noodles were mushy and definitely needed some work, but I enjoyed the overall dish. I also tried a bite of my friend’s unaju(eel over rice), and I would highly recommend it! The service was kind of iffy throughout the night. I’m guessing that the sushi chefs were backed up because the people at our table who ordered sushi didn’t get their food til way after everyone else. The person sitting next to me got her food after I finished eating all of mine, and I’m a slow eater. Hopefully they were just overwhelmed because it was so busy and they’ll work on fixing the issue.

I was very excited to find a Japanese restaurant with good quality and reasonable prices! Sushi Robata exceeded my expectations with the food options, ambience, food quality and prices. The outside makes the place look sketchy but once you enter the restaurant, it looks very nice and inviting! They have a full range of choices that makes it a bit difficult to quickly choose something off the menu. You can write down your sushi orders and order the other entrees with the waiter/waitress. We ordered the tonkatsu ramen(so-so but probably one of the better ones in DFW), miso nasu, takoyaki, shrimp tempura, mochi green tea ice cream and crème brûlée. The desserts were my absolute fave part, must get! And they each cost less than $ 5 each. The food I had was decent but because of the price, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’m going to come back for the sushi next time!

I love Japanese food and I love trying out several Japanese restaurants. Sushi Robata is still my favorite Japanese restaurant and restaurant overall! I used to work at Sushi Robata for over a year since the grand opening, and from what I learned, Mori-san, orders high quality ingredients and sells the food for decent price. Call me bias, but I absolutely love this place! Not only do the employers treat their employees well, the environment and atmosphere is great. Me, being someone with OCD, I can proudly say this is a clean place to eat. Walking in for the first time, you’re always greeted with a smile and you’re taken care of right away; although there are times you will have to wait(during the weekends), but the food is worth waiting for. Once seated, you are greeted and automatically taken care of by your waitress. And depending on how often you eat here, the waitresses have great memory of who you are and they treat you as if you’re a regular. The Food: Absolutely amazing. I have taken several friends here, and they have agreed that this is the best Japanese restaurant they have been to in Dallas. I can’t choose my favorite, because I do like everything there; the appetizers, entres, and desserts. I usually order: Appetizers: asparagus bacon, enoki bacon, beef tongue, chicken liver(occasionally), salmon onigiri(occasionally), beef tataki, geso karaage, tori karaage, etc. Main entre: tonkatso ramen, miso ramen, or nabeyaki udon, chirashizushi, & gyudon, Desserts: Green tea mochi ice cream, cream brulee, and strawberry shortcake. — I highly recommend the cream brulee and strawberry shortcake. Morisan makes both of these desserts from scratch. The cream brulee is made from brown sugar instead of white, which gives it a somewhat sweet, but creamy taste. It’s one of my favorites. The strawberry shortcake is also made from scratch. It’s not sweet, fresh, and very creamy. I have no complaints about this restaurant and I love everything about it; the décor, food, employees, music, everything! I would highly recommend everyone to try it at least once! :)

If you’re hungry and craving Japanese food, or if you’re a hungry Japanese person, this place has assortments of sushi, grilled dishes, fried appetizers and noodles. It’s a great spot to have a good time with your family. We got: — tori karage: fried little chicken things. These were our least favorite because it was tough. Not a lot of flavor. — nabeyaki udon: delicious authentic udon! It had everything you want in it. — chirashi: sashimi with rice. Priciest dish but was well worth it. Alternative to this was the sashimi salad which was equally good at a cheaper price. — beef tongue: o yes — tempura udon: also very good — pork katsu skewers: katsu in the form of skewers. Not badddddd. — hambak steak: delicious marinated beef patties
