Some will tell you el si hay has the best tacos in Dallas, but I don’t really understand that. A tiny sort of scummy shack situated on a corner parking lot, that seems so small its improbable a kitchen could fit in there has a Spanish menu of just a few tacos in the $ 1.50 range. The line is always long and so is the wait, but for around $ 5 you can get 3 simple tacos in the protein with onion and cilantro style on corn tortilla. I wasn’t wowed by the tacos in light of all the buzz, or happy that there wasn’t even a table or bench to eat at. So if you’re on foot, you’ll have to walk around and eat them sitting on a concrete wall down the way or use the bench down by Hunkys or the tables in front of Oddfellows. Ive had similar tacos that I somehow liked better at super mercado on Columbia, Tacos la Banqueta and Cesar’s. All those places have faster service, provide a place to sit down and eat and in my mind had a bit more flavor. Bottom line The tacos are authentic and the price is right, but I didn’t like the atmosphere. Cash only

Fajita tacos under 2 bucks each, this isn’t one of those hipster overpriced taco places that gives you half a taco at 3 times the price. This is an authentic little Mexican taco place, the real low prices reflect that. Get a Mexican Coke while you are here.

Tacos were bomb af!!! And really cheap too. We tried al pastor, barbacoa and lengua and all were delicious. Elote on the other hand, I was slightly disappointed. But I’d definitely go back

Best tacos in town. If you want authentic and aren’t afraid to stand in line then this is the place for you. Everytime I come here the food is great and the service is fast. Would recommend it to anyone

Found this hidden gem thanks to Unilocal. We visited on a Weekday night. There isn’t any parking so you have to find some on the street. Its not a fancy super place just a simple taco truck, but oh man don’t let it fool you. I had 3 beef tacos, they were out of this world good! I haven’t tried tacos this good in a longgg time, and you really cant beat the price 1.42 per taco is a sweet deal! There is a man making elotes right next to the taqueria, we wanted to see what the fuzz was about these elotes. I have to say i was a little disappointed by them, he puts sour cream instead of mayonnaise and salsa instead of chile powder. Also they’re rather expensive they’ll run you about 3 bucks each elote. Overall if you have the opportunity visit this taco joint you will not regret it!

The tacos de lengua are great! They are small but so delicious. There is always a line at lunch and in the evenings but they have speedy service. There is an elote stand on the same corner you can wait in line for an elote to pass the time until your tacos are ready.

Street tacos here are so damn good. Cheap good eats. Tacos are like $ 1.5!!! I recommend all but the beef tacos. Love the chicken, lengua, pastor, and barbacoa!!! Corn is a must also!!! Lots of gooey goodness!!! Yes the wait is a bit long but the tacos are worth the long wait!!! Don’t come hungry! Lol

I love their tacos here! I haven’t had any like them in a LONG while! Can’t be beat. I will make a special trip just to eat these because no one else compares. Get flour fajita tacos. U won’t be disappointed.

These are the best tacos I have ever had in my life!!! Side note: Mexican food is my least favorite of all foods – this should tell you something. The chorizo and steak are my go-to’s. I even hear the the Lengua will give you something to talk about. For those who don’t know, Lengua is beef tongue. Oh, look, I made a pun! The outside is sketch but what’s coming from the inside will have your insides happy you went.

Second back last night, and it was even better than I remember it. The food is amazing and extremely well priced but besides that the old man out front slinging Elotes is worth making a trip to El Si Hay. This time we got four tacos(lengue, barbacoa, pollo, and pastor) and each one was great. The lengue was an after thought but it was some of the best tongue I’ve ever had in tacos. The Elote man is always great and the line for his wares were actually longer than the regular taco line this time. This has become a «go to» for when I’m in DFW area!

The barbacoa taco was borderline gooey. I love the cliff… but these are not the best tacos in Dallas. Check out the real taco stands further down Davis(closer to Loop 12). That’s where the good stuff is at…

My favorite place for street tacos in Dallas. And by street, I literally mean street, as this place is just a small stand(usually with a line of people waiting to partake in its deliciousness). The tacos are hot and freshly made, and the ELOTES. A man slices off kernels of corn fresh off the cob into a cup — adds sour cream, hot sauce, and plenty of cheese. Perfection. He is also the nicest and has been there ever since I can remember! Taqueria El Si Hay is da best. I’ll be back soon!

Best tacos and elotes in Dallas. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Do t be fooled by the appearance. It’s literally a shack, but the tacos are the best I’ve had(and I love street tacos). The chicken, al pastor, and barbecoa tacos are awesome, but the elotes are what makes this joint a five star stand. The guy who makes them is a pro. The chipotle sauce is hot, and he’s not kidding with the amount he adds. With a cup being $ 3, and the tacos being less that $ 2, dinner here is very affordable, especially the quality. Call me a cheap date, but I would eat here every night.

This stand has been here since I was growing up and is an Oak Cliff staple. If I’m driving through the area and want a bite, I usually go for Taqueria El Si Hay. These are the *best* tacos in the DFW. This taco stand really cranks out a high quality product. Be forewarned that it is cash only, so prepare accordingly, and leave your diet at home. In addition to the amazing tacos everyone and their mamas rave about, there is also very tasty and fresh corn in a cup being made by a kind and humble man right outside of the stand. The line for both is always long, which speaks for itself. I really celebrate this place and stop by any chance I get, I hope they stay in business for many years to come.

Yummmy!!! My coworker, who is from Oak Cliff highly recommended this place. So I came on Friday night to check it out. It is in a little shack that is right across from Bolsa. There’s no parking and seating area, but you can park on the street and take it to go. Well in our case, we ate them the car. The line was pretty long on a Friday night. It took a while to get our food because it seemed like people ordered a whole bunch. I wanted to try one of each, but the lengua was not available. We had barbacoa, chicken, fajita, steak, chorizo, and al pastor. It comes with white onion and cilantro, which I wish they gave a little bit more. The 2 hot sauces, one red and one green were so spicy especially the red one. They really don’t play here. I have to say, the tacos were amazing. My favorite was the steak and then the chorizo, my least favorite was the fajita. For $ 1.49 a taco, it was big. They loaded the tacos with lots of meat. I love it. Thumbs up for quality and quantity. We also got a Mexican coke that was very refreshing. I heard the owner’s dad make some amazing elotes, but he was on a 2 week vacation. I can’t wait to come back for more tacos and try the elotes. I love street or ghetto tacos, and this place definitely hit the spot.

I have been coming here for years, and I can say that they have the best tacos around. I love a good taco, but who doesn’t? These tacos are orgasmic! There is always a wait, but that means that they are good. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Spanish, the order taker normally speaks English. Although I always enjoy listening to my husband speak broken Spanish. I always get the fajita and bistek. Both are absolutely amazing — the meat is perfectly cooked and well seasoned, topped with cilantro and onions. I have also tried the chicken and chorizo — also great choices, but I like to stick with my favs. They are take out only, and no tables to sit at either. So you are going to have to eat in the car or tailgate like my hubby and I did tonight. They are also cash only, so stop by the ATM before you go. Now for the best part… The elotes man(that works on weekends only) makes an absolutely killer elote! Imagine hot, fresh, sweet corn topped with butter, chile sauce and cheese. Oh my heavens! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The line is generally longer for the elotes than the tacos. Be prepared to wait because each patron normally orders 2 – 5 each. Believe me though, it’s worth the wait!

These tacos are amazing. I come to this place with my husband any chance I get. We always have to get cash at the station next door though cause they don’t take any form of payment other than that. Possibly pesos, never tried though. They offer a wide variety of meats but be looking at the menu while you’re in line. It’s kind of hard to read and considering the number of folks standing behind you, you may feel the urge to blurt out something quick and be mad at yourself later. I could be exposing my own insecurity but I don’t know many people that like being rushed when ordering food. They offer sodas and other beverages but I’ve never had them. The drink bottle openers are located near the counter edges. Please pick up your bottle caps! It’s probably annoying for the workers to pick up after you, even if you did tip. RUDE. The tacos come with onions and cilantro if you want as well as green and red salsa. I always ask for both but prefer the red. The red is the hottest and I sometimes regret this preference later. Yet I always go back and get it again. The elotes are available in a pop-up-shop via push cart where a very kind man makes them for the droves of folks waiting for their tacos. All in all his line is worth twice the wait if you so chose, on any given weekend.

Authentic is one word but the charm and mystique of this place is the brutally worth-the-wait line standing one has with their respective partner in crime in the hunt for tacos and corn. Compare it to a baseball game where traditional staples like a hotdog, beer & a conversations with friend(s) is as vital as the game itself to add value to the whole experience. Similarly here at El Si Hay where the people you come to taco dive with per se are just as important at the quality of meat they cook at this Oak Cliff taco Mecca.

This is mostly from the husbands point of view, he’s not a Unilocaler himself, but he’s the bigger taco fan between us. He will spend whole days off just taco-crawling around the city so he’s had more than his share of the different taco trucks & dives on offer in the metroplex. In our humble opinion, this place is the best. Don’t miss the lingua tacos & the al pastor are sublime. Always a line for a reason.

Nom. My friend once left dinner at Bolsa to grab some El Si Hay across the street. Nuff said. Go there.
