Great late-night taco joint! Two barbacoa, two fajitas, and two pastor! And if I’m extra-hungry, two chicken! All on corn! I’ve been going to this taco stand for a few years now… after having a beer or two. If there weren’t other people inside every time I show up, I’d easily order twenty tacos to go! :P

I’m almost ashamed to say usually when I stop here it’s after midnight and I may or may not have lots to drink. I can redeem myself because I have been here in the daytime and I hadn’t consumed anything but H2O. The place is shady in the middle of a parking lot but don’t be scared it’s well lit, not that I would go alone at night but I’ve been with a group of just girls, group of guys and girls and we’ve never had any incident. With that being said the tacos are amazing, I love tacos, I really do and the Al Pastor here is the standard I measure other places. The Pastor is my favorite, not only can you taste the hint of pineapple many times there are chunks of pineapple in the meat. The taco’s are authentic just like the ones my Mexican friends make at home. I can also recommend the cheese quesadilla, and go ahead throw on some meat if you like. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I only wished I visited more often.

Omg, this is my go-to taco place. I probably wouldn’t come here alone at night and I probably wouldn’t come here at night even if I was with a group of friends. It’s not in the safest area! But gosh, they have some really good authentic Mexican tacos that I’m even tempted to go alone at night when I’m craving tacos. I always get the barbacoa tacos on corn tortillas. They usually come with grilled onions, fresh onions, cilantro, and lime. It’s super greasy so don’t come here if you’re concerned about your health. The barbacoa is so tender and the grilled onions are such a treat! I’ve heard good things about their breakfast tacos so I want to try those sometime. :)

Amazing taco stand that you’d probably never try given its appearance. Had the chicken fajita with queso, pastor with queso and barbacoa tacos(three total). All were amazing and cheap! Came out to roughly $ 5 and only waited five minutes for our order. Don’t judge this book by its cover!

LOL, I was almost afraid to try this place. Like most, I ready Unilocal reviews before I play the restaurant lottery and had read the reviews for this place. Most said good to great food, almost all said the place is, well, we shall say, not aesthetically pleasing. Guess what… the reviews are right. Upon seeing the place I am a bit suspect, but don’t want to pull out my phone to check in or take a picture, being afraid a shady character may run off with my phone. Yes, as shady as the place looks, the neighborhood shopping center is not far behind and it all seems to fit together. The reviews are also right about the food… I have not quite figured out why the best, or at least some really good street tacos come from the most unlikely places, but so it is. Plan on spending 6 – 7 dollars and you will leave with plenty of food. My favorite are the barbacoa tacos, served tender and moist on a tasty fresh corn tortilla. I usually do ala cart, so it is not really fair of me to rate their sides, but when I have had them, they were just ok.

Tacos were ok. Just ok . The service however was horrible . After we hade spent about $ 50 worth of tacos. I ordered an extra jarritos. Was half way my last taco and I told the cashier I would pay her in a little bit. I had salsa all over my hands. In an almost rude way the cashier said «I have to charge you for the jarritos now!!» Suddenly I regretted eating there. The staff at this place are not warm or welcoming . That’s why we didn’t leave a tip.

Don’t let this shack in the middle the parking lot fool you, the food is really good. What I expected to be a one time taco stop has blossomed into a wonderful weekly treat– filled with tacos, horchata and gordita’s. I’m totally a fan of their tacos because they’re inexpensive and super tasty and fresh.

I’m partially a taco fiend and this taco stand is within walking distance of my house. I come here so often that I’ve thought about suggesting a frequent fliers pass just for me. Anywho, it’s kinda weird that the taco spot is in the middle of a shopping center parking lot but don’t let that stop you any. Try the Especial: it’s 3 tacos(of your choice) with rice and beans for $ 5.99. I usually get the chicken. If you’re looking for quick tacos, this is the place.

Pros: I really like this place for their authentic tacos. I usually get the tacos barbacoa and love it whenever Im craving some street tacos. I get the taco plate combo for $ 5.99 which comes with 3 tacos of your choice and two sides(beans and rice). This is such a steal! I really like how they provide both grilled and raw onions with your tacos. Cons: Im the type of person that loves to eat with alot of salsa and the taco stand only provides you with one little sauce and charge you for any additional sauces. The salsa didnt have too much flavouring and was bland, I had the breakfast tacos on a Saturday morning and it was okay. I wouldnt recommend getting them. Overally, I like this place for their fast-service, convenient, and inexpensive street style tacos.

A friend and tried this place out for breakfast one morning. I had three breakfast tacos and a Coke. I ordered flour tortillas with bacon & egg and chorizo and egg. Both tasted good but were small for my liking. I thought they were good but I was not blown away either! I would go again if I was in the neighborhood. It’s worth giving it a try.

I did this again over the weekend and it was WAY better than I had remembered it. I think the Pastor tacos are the way to go here and highly recommend it. Muy delicioso.

shadiest place I’ve been to in a while, but GREAT/CHEAP FOOD! also $ 5 min on card. Located literally in the MIDDLE of a plaza IN a SHACK. I swore I drove by this place at least a dozen times thinking its an abandoned parking ticket booth. Not really that much seating in the place, but if you are just by yourself you can definitely awkwardly sit in the shack and eat your taco facing the people who just served you. For the most part, i suggest getting take outs. Tacos wise, this place is CHEAP~ I got 2 tongue tacoes with corn bread and 2 chicken ones too. 6 bucks. whoo~ The meat was really juicy and warm, which was perfect for the COLD! The tortilla they used was also pretty good and didn’t taste too flour-y. The tacos are nothing fancy, however. Just tortilla and meat, and they will give you some onions on the side(if you ordered more than 3 apparently). So don’t expect something super fancy like those in Torchy’s or anything. Great place. Def don’t judge a book by its cover(or more like don’t judge a taco stand by how run-down it looks)

So today I stopped by this joint as part of a late lunch snack at work. This is a pretty cool little joint. I would almost describe it as a «food tuck with no wheels», lol. They have a really great special that goes for about 5.50. You get three street style tacos rice and beans. I also ordered a mexican style coke which was delicious. It looks a bit sketchy on appearance, but as they say, «It’s all good, in the medical district hood». Lunch time is a nice time to go. Julie(our waitress) took very good care of us, and was extremely hospitable. The food was off the chain, the service was good, and the weather was spectacular. It’s definitely on my list as an all-time favorite taco spot around Dallas.

How does the saying go? The ghettoer the stand, the better the tacos? Yep, that’s defs right in this case. These are not gentrified tacos(is that even a thing?), or I guess I should say these aren’t fancy tacos. You get your basic two semi-fried tortillas(corn), with your meat choice(lengua, barbacoa, fajita, pastor, etc), topped with cilantro and onions(if you want), with lime wedges and grilled onion on the side, and your choice of the green or red salsa. Basic? Yes, but oh so delicious! These aren’t the smallest tacos I’ve had but these aren’t the biggest either so I usually get between 3 – 5 of them. The price of the tacos has gone up a few cents over the years but they are still cheap. The workers there are pretty chill and they usually get your tacos to you pretty quickly but if there is a line then expect a wait. It’s no longer cash only so they do take cards now! I love everything about this place, from its random location in the parking lot, to the shabby looking exterior, to the prison-like seating on the inside, BUTMOSTOFALL I love their delicious, super legit, tacos. Bottom line, if you want Mexican street tacos for cheap then Taqueria La Paisanita is the place for you.

I’m feeling a little guilty for giving Taqueria La Paisanita 2-stars after seeing so many good reviews, but I really don’t see what the fuss is all about. I came here and ordered the 3-taco special with rice and beans for $ 5.50. I tried one barbacoa, one lengua, and a brisket taco. Firstly, these are very tiny tacos. I could eat one in a single bite if I was in a rush. Secondly, the corn tortillas are greasy and messy. Thirdly, their meats are nothing special. I’d say they’re seasoned similarly to the meat at Chipotle, except at Chipotle you get a monster burrito, and a clean, air conditioned place to sit for the same price. Now for the environment. This is literally a «stand» with two tables and a bar area to sit at. I’d say you could fit about 12 people. There’s no air conditioning for the patrons and you will sweat like a hog in the summer months. At $ 1.85 for a Mexican coke, it’s like a tourist trap. It’s a bit dirty, and there doesn’t seem to be a bathroom. It seems like a place people go to to get food after the bars start closing. Overall, I really can’t recommend it unless you’re visiting and have never had«street tacos» or Mexican coke in your life.

Every once in a while I just get this uncontrollable urge for barbacoa. I’ve driven past Taqueria la Paisanita more times than I can count, but today was the first time I decided to stop. La Paisanita certainly doesn’t look like much, though these kinds of places usually have the best street tacos. I mustered up all of the Spanglish and Texican available in my personal lexicon. I asked about the source of their barbacoa and was assured that it was cachete(cheek meat). Far too often, you’ll find shredded brisket masquerading as traditional barbacoa. I ordered a trio of tacos: barbacoa, lengua(tongue), and al pastor. Tongue meat probably isn’t something that most city folk care to eat, but I really enjoy it. The meat was tender and rich. It didn’t have a lot of flavor on its own, but the fresh cilantro and onions fixed that nicely. Unlike the lengua, the al pastor taco had a lot of flavor. The marinated pork was a real pleasure to eat, though lacked the spiciness I hoped for. It was a little greasier than I’d prefer, and just a tad too salty. Finally, the piece de resistance: barbacoa. You’d never guess that it was cheek meat if you didn’t know better. The crunch of the onions worked well with the tender meat. It had a very mild seasoning, which let the barbacoa’s natural flavors really shine. Taqueria la Paisanita wasn’t the best barbacoa I’ve had in Dallas, but it was good enough for a $ 4.00 lunch.

If you’re looking for cheap and tasty tacos, then this place is where you want to go: no-frills, no pretensions, just delicious tacos handed to you quickly. You can opt to sit in, but there are only two metal tables at this parking lot shack(is it really a shack though? it’s more of a container made into a taco stand kinda thing), and most people seem to order and take it to go. I decided to sit there as i was walking around anyway, and would rather have a table to lean against. I ordered 3(one chicken, one beef, and one barbacoa) tacos, for a grand total of $ 4(and some change) and i got my tacos in less than 5 minutes, with some sliced lime on the side. Let me tell you, i just gobbled them up! They weren’t huge but they were delicious!!! Particularly the barbacoa was fantastic! I left, feeling fully satisfied and having thoroughly enjoyed my meal!

I have passed this place twice a day on my way to and from work for the past couple of years. I only just realized its presence this year. And I only just tried it 3 days ago. I have to admit I was a little intimidated by and skeptical of its small size and location right in the middle of a parking lot. And I didn’t quite know if I could just walk right in or if it was a drive thru type situation. I still don’t know the answer to the latter because I just walked into their covered porch type area. Hours: They open every weekday at 7:30AM. On Friday and Saturdays they’re open until 4AM. Which makes it a prime alternative to Fuel City which gets super busy with the after clubbing crowd. I ordered 2 barbacoa, 2 pastor, and 2 beef flour tacos with everything(the standard cilantro, limes, and onions). The barbacoa was all right, not as greasy as Fuel Town further down Inwood. The beef lacked that pop of flavor. I liked the pastor best, but it still wasn’t as tasty as Fuel City. Their salsa verde was definitely spicy though. Reheated the next day, they were still good. I just can’t help but compare all tacos to FC. HOWEVER, if and when I do get a taco craving, T La P will certainly be able to satiate it without me having to go out of my way.

A solid spot with friendly staff and quick service. The good: — The corn tortilla is amazing: warm, chewy, and fresh — not easy to pull off with the texture of corn. — The beef and chicken are delish. So are the rice & beans. — The green salsa gives a mild refreshing kick. — The hours: something like 7am to 4am on most days. So chances are it’s open when you’re craving for tacos. The meh: — The pork is overpowered by too much sauce for me to taste the meat. The brisket doesn’t have much flavour. — The beef tongue isn’t as good as Fuel Town Tacos down Inwood Rd., so I’d stick with the latter for that. The selling point for me: the tacos are smaller than what I’m used to(with correspondingly lower prices), so I’m not stuffed after three of them. More importantly, the meat/marinade is less oily than, say, Fuel City. I’m all for less foodie guilt!
