Our experience started off slow and really picked up! Waited a very long time for my mimosa and had to flag the waiter down to place my order. He messed up on the order and had to run and fix it. I had to request condiments for my table after the food had been sitting for 5 to 10 minutes! Also had to ask where my second order of drinks were… This establishment was crazy packed for brunch and my waiter really tried to make up for it! I wanted to bring a larger party here but I’m a little worried that they won’t be able to accommodate! The food was extremely good and service improved!

I went here this past Saturday with a bunch of my girls for brunch. We all had a wonderful first experience. 2 $ mimosa specials? How can you beat that! We sat out on their beautiful patio. We got amazing Service all around! Everyone was so friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent! You just try the smoked salmon egg Benedict, brisket hash, pasta bolognese, and their tiramisu

I’ve gone here three times now and it’s consistently very good. It seems to be quite busy so I would advise making a reservation. I’ve heard that the eggplant parmigiana is incredible so next time I’ll try it! The special was asparagus flan which doesn’t sound appetizing at all. Last week I got shrimp scampi but I found it lacked flavor. I wished there was more citrus flavor from the Lemmon or something. Overall very good but nothing mind blowing spectacular.

This is my favorite brunch spot in Dallas. If you’re looking to splurge with great food and mimosa’s this is the place to be. Vast choices with excellent service. Wine glasses shall never be empty which makes this place and the atmosphere that much better.

I dined at Taverna about a month ago for my birthday trip to Dallas and we were so pleased with our food and service. The restaurant is adorable with an amazing patio right on the street that we were able lucky enough to be seated at. To share, we vegetarian antipasto which was plenty to split amongst the 6 of us. Great selection of veggies that were nicely grilled and crisp. From groups of us ended up ordering a variety of meals to split. For our meal, I and another girl ordered the taglioni scampi and the eggplant parmesan appetizer to split. They kindly split the pasta into two portions without us even requesting which was really nice. Other girls ordered the margherita pizza, a gluten free margherita pizza and another pasta dish. Taverna has an extremely large separate gluten free menu which is amazing as one of my friends was gluten free and she had a huge selection. We also ordered two bottles of wine and our per person our meal was around $ 35 plus tip… we thought the pricing was amazing for the quality of food and service. I would highly recommend if you’re in Dallas!

This restaurant by far has the most outstanding risottos. Taverna offers six, so you’ve got options. I love the risotto con burrata with it’s roasted tomatoes and prosciutto. We also ordered the fettucine di mare and caprese. Overall, the Italian cuisine was delightful. There are a wide range of options for pizza, pasta, risottos and meat entrees. What surprised me was their gluten free menu. So, everyone and friends, come enjoy your dinner on their patio in the beautiful weather. Also, for you brunch goers, $ 2 mimosas and bellinis. What a deal.

Taverna hasn’t got to do much to please with its hot location and open-air feel; whether you are on the patio or inside, it all feels al fresco! Bustling on a Sunday afternoon, you can grab a great glass of wine at the bar to pass the wait-time for your table. There are wood-fire pizza options for a lighter(and less costly) meal, or go for one of varied pasta and risotto entrees. It’s nice to see different sauce options on each of the individually prepared Italian favorites, some familiar, some less so. Service was adequate considering the crowds, and the food was good, but it’s all about the ambience at Taverna.

Always good, this place is one of my favorites for brunch. The food is great– be it the hash, any of the risottos, the french toast — it’s ALL great, I promise. The managers here are the type that actually like a well-ran restaurant. They are hands-on, constantly making sure staff are on top of tasks and consumers are happy. I applaud the staff and management here — thanks for being good. PS — $ 2 mimosa and bellini’s for brunch!

Yum. Yum. Yum. I loved Taverna. We came in with a big group for my bachelorette party, and although there was some confusion about our reservation at the beginning and we ended up getting seated outside without being asked, we had a really fun and delicious meal. When it comes to Italian, I’m pasta all the way… and then I saw Taverna had a whole section of its menu dedicated to risotto. Mmm. My sister and I decided to get a pasta and a risotto and share both, and it was definitely the right decision. We had the Caprese-type risotto(not what it’s called but it had a cream cheese-type cheese, basil and tomatoes) and the spaghetti carbonara. The carbonara was some of the best I’ve had — it was to die for. I wish I’d just gotten that. Not that the risotto wasn’t great, but the carbonara… amazing. I also appreciated that the portion sizes were reasonable. I ate all my food but was not miserably full at the end of the meal. Great Italian food, great patio, and we had a great time. I’d definitely recommend it!

What a great spot for brunch! We walked here on the Katy Trail on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We had originally intended to try Toulouse next door, but when the wait there was over 30 minutes we wandered over here and they had a table for us right away. The hostess that seated us was super sweet and friendly, recommending a table on the side patio and pointing out a few different favorite menu options when we mentioned it was our first visit. The side patio is a great place to sit on a sunny day, covered just enough to shield you from too much sun but exposed enough to let you feel like you’re outside. There’s a brick wall covered in interesting art and white marble tables that give the place a European feel. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, starting out with bringing us our mimosas(which aren’t on the brunch menu for some reason, but they are delicious and only $ 2 each). I decided to try the Vanilla French Toast, which is served with marscapone and a fresh fruit salad. It was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this dish if you like to keep brunch sweet. Light and fluffy and just enough flavor not to need syrup(but if you’re like me – a true maple syrup lover – you’ll use it anyway). I also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, which were crispy and salty and perfect. My boyfriend ordered the California pizza for his entrée, which was a Neapolitan style pizza with chicken, avocado, basil and feta. He completely loved it. I had a bite and I have to say it was excellent. Light and flavorful and perfect. We had a couple more mimosas(refills were plentiful, and those things went down easy) and we left full and happy. This is a prime brunch spot in a great area and I’d gladly return.

Quite delicious. I like every other restaurant from this concept(namely Sangria Tapas y Bar and Toulouse). Thought I’d give this place a shot.(Still angry Sangria closed down btw. There is enough Asian fusion in the world. I need tapas and champagne sangria.) Amaze. Thought I needed Spaghetti Carbonara(next time) but the risotto selection caught my eye. Eats: bruschetta risotto al parmigiano con salsa tartufata risotto con burrata While I enjoyed my pick of risotto with burrata, roasted heirloom cherry tomato, basil, and crispy prosciutto, it was nothing like the richness of the risotto with Parmesan cheese and black truffle sauce. Holy wow. Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been to Taverna many times. I’ve tried different things on the menu and the food is good but the serving is small. I had the risotto many times, but the item my wife and I like the best is the Taverna Focaccia. We also like to go next door(Toulouse) for dessert.

A top 25 pizza in Dallas. We ordered the Salsiccia. Light and airy wood fired crust. Bottom perfectly charred with a rich flavored texture. Maybe the lightest crust in Dallas, definitely the best feature of the pizza. Sauce was simple and flavor able but would have liked more of it. The Peppers are a dominate flavor. Looking forward to a return visit.

Taverna is an Italian restaurant that offers the full range of vegetarian carbs: pizza, pasta, risottos, and more. That’s right, the word risotto is plural because Taverna offers six risottos separate from all the appetizers. If you’re looking to eat vegetarian and not eat so many vegetables(not advised), this restaurant could keep you happy. I went with two friends on a weekday night. I had the bufala mozzarella caprese(a caprese salad), the risotto al parmigiano con salsa tartufata(risotto with parmesan and black truffle sauce), and the homemade fiocchi al gorgonzola(cheese dumplings in a cream sauce). We sat outside in the crisp, Dallas winter under some outdoor heaters. The service was good — there was no excessive waiting, and I felt well taken care of, despite sitting outside when most of the action was going on inside. The caprese salad was the star of the show. I tell myself that I’m going to stop eating so much cheese, but I can’t help ordering massive pieces of mozzarella to salivate over. The salad had me wishing it was summer. Unfortunately, the risotto and the fiocchi were not as exciting. The risotto, with wonderful, thin slices of parmesan on top, had a texture that reminded me of the porridge that my mom makes with leftover rice for breakfast, albeit this risotto was certainly meant to be a savory, heartier dish. My mom does make a killer xi fan breakfast. The fiocchi sauce was watery. I thoroughly enjoyed the inside of each bite, but the walnut, arugula, and cream surrounding each bite had me confused. At one point, I felt like a Chopped judge wondering, «Where is the pear in this dish? Did you use all the basket ingredients?» If I come back, I’ll probably try one of their grilled vegetable dishes, or a red sauce.

I went here for brunch with some girlfriends. Since it was a Sunday, there was quite a wait, but $ 2 mimosas at the bar definitely made the wait go by quicker. I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara which was bomb. I would definitely recommend this place for Sunday brunch.

1:30 reservations got us seated at 2:30. Although our server was very nice and explained the specials, the service was slow and the kitchen slower. This place is packed every weekend. You would think they would know how to adjust the kitchen, and move the service along so that there would be less waiting all around. We ordered an appetizer, which took too long and then brunch was finally service around 3:30. The hostesses were nice, but also not very efficient. The food is good, not outstanding. This place will probably drop from our brunch choices.

This is seriously one of my go-to brunching locations. Make sure you call ahead to make reservations because it gets CRAZY packed. Is the wait worth it? Yes but make a reservation so you don’t wait too long. Also make sure you leave on time because I was going in circles trying to find parking(they do offer valet though). I ordered the California pizza(beware: it’s HUGE… but hey, at least I had leftovers to take home!) The pizza is SOWORTHIT. Trust me — I’m not a big fan of pizza but this pizza was delicious. Almost as good as NYC pizza. Oh yeah, mimosas are $ 2 so that’s a plus! My server misunderstood my order and when my wrong order came out, I told him and he quickly took my plate back and made my correct order. I was really impressed with my server taking the blame and quickly correcting my order with the kitchen. Great customer service goes a long way. 5 stars for you Taverna!!!

Great place for brunch. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good and it’s in a great location for shopping. It’s very popular so expect to wait for a table. The have valet parking for $ 5 because parking is limited on Knox Travis but I highly recommend this place for any meal, not just brunch.

A new favorite brunch spot! The waitress we had was absolutely spot on with our mimosa and coffee refills, and was great in conversation. Some of the friendliest service in Dallas. The prices are great and the food is phenomenal! The Two Eggs Any Style dish comes with more meat than I thought I could handle, the chorizo here is some of the best in Dallas. If you’re looking for an enjoyable weekend spot then I definitely recommend coming here for a bit! My next order will be the Chorizo Omelette.

Perfect spot for Sunday brunch! Can’t beat their $ 2 mimosas and bellinis. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the bellinis! Don’t fret, their food is also amazing! I got the Paglia E Fieno and the price point was around $ 15. It was a delicious pasta dish with mushrooms and truffle oil. The truffle oil made is very smooth and creamy! The patio seating is a must when the weather is nice.

What a fantastic place! So authentic and lively. First time going here, for a birthday brunch and I really enjoyed myself, really enjoyed the food, the freshness and everything was so authentic. It is Italian food, so I was a fan right away. We started off on a great note, $ 2.00 Bellinis and Mimosas, I sipped on both, our waiter kept them coming, kept our glasses filled to the rim. What was delicious, and a great way to start our dining experience, was the Antipasto Emiliano. Huge platter, more than enough for the table and there was close to 15 mouths to feed. It was a beautiful spread of prosciutto, mortadella, which is an Italian cold cut, salami, mixed olives, which I love, love that saltiness, artichokes, so tender, parmesan chunks, bruschetta, which was amazing with the variety of meats and fresh mozzarella. My Chop Salad, the huge amount of bacon crumbles, was the best. We had so much left over from the platter, I added some of the olives and the mortadella, talk about perfection. I’ve always passed by Taverna, but never made it a place to stop and eat, but there were so many things on the menu that I saw, want to try, and must go back to try as soon as possible. It’s got everything you need, TVs, big tables, great bar, friendly staff, awesome for Saturday or Sunday brunch, or any time really!

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Dallas. I discovered Taverna in 2010 when I first arrived in Dallas from my hometown in Italy as my best Italian friend in Dallas, Pietro, could not wait to bring me there. I still remember the first time: I ordered my favorite plate, le pappardelle, and a smile immediately took shape on my lips while I was still trying to keep those closed and eat as my mamma taught me! Hahaha! Since then, I’ve been to this place, the old Taverna and the new one, many times. A few of days ago again with a kind friend of mine. I ordered the ravioli and she ordered the fiocchi al Gorgonzola. We shared the two plates happily enjoying what we ordered. Che bonta’!!! Mamma mia! Hahaha! We enjoyed also the warm atmosphere that I always find at this place and the food was just an important detail of a fantastic evening in great company!

Taverna is one of my go-to restaurants when I just want to go somewhere near. I love the vibe of this restaurant, from the open patio to the open kitchen. The staff are always very friendly and the food is always consistently good. I go here for weekend brunch(when they have $ 2 mimosas & bellinis) and also for lunch and dinner. No matter what time of day, there is always a good sized crowd. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but that is only sometimes, and typically when they are very busy. All of their pasta dishes are delicious, as well as their daily specials. Definitely try this place out if you haven’t yet!

Great, casual yet elegant Italian. Service was spot on on a very busy Saturday night. Waters were constantly refilled(although I really only care about my wine being refilled, which I did numerous times). Started off with the Chef’s Focaccia and a bottle of Prosceco, which came quickly after ordering. We ordered in three stages, and the waiter was cool about it.(no asking for all our orders at once). Finished the bubbles and moved on to salads and a really nice Belle Glos Pinot Noir. The place was seriously raging by this point but service was still spot on. Finally ordered our main courses and mas vino. In a timely fashion, we were served. Very tasty and classic Spaghetti Carbonara. Lot’s of parm and bacon. Finished off the meal with a lovely strawberry shortcake and a 20 yr tawny port. No, this ain’t Nonna or Lucia, but it’s a perfect neighborhood Italian joint that gets everything right for what it is.

This review is based on their dinner menu: I love coming here with my family! It’s got a nice and warm atmosphere, nothing over the top, but service definitely makes you feel like you’re in a fancier restaurant. We ALWAYS order the«taverna focaccia» as an appetizer to share, and it’s simply amazing! It’s basically a lighter, fresher version of pizza(no tomato sauce or melted cheese) with pancetta(to me tastes like prosciutto but is apparently not), mushrooms, arugula, pine nuts, onion, and parmesan. You drizzle their special oil over it, and it’s just a must try. All their pasta dishes are really good, I try to pick something new every so often. If you’re stuck, I would recommend the scampi tagliolini or lasagna. The portions aren’t really big, but it’s just enough, which is another reason why we’re happy to order the focaccia to start. Unfortunately, I don’t think their desserts are anything to hit home about. They had a tres leches cake that disappointed me(did not have that moist and sweetness that I expect from a tres leches). In fact, it was actually frozen! The tiramisu is a better option, but nothing out of this world. If you’re looking for a more upscale restaurant(in quality/taste of food and service, not atmosphere) to impress someone or is family-friendly, I would recommend coming here!

We came on a hot, 91 degree Saturday evening. For some strange reason Taverna decided to have all of its doors open to let the hot air in, even though we were sitting«inside» of the restaurant. I. Was. Sweating. Sweltering heat aside, the food was pretty good. Usually if you spend $ 15-$ 18 on a meal there’s enough pasta to take home, but here the portions were individual sized. We got the scampi tagliolini and the paglia e fieno. The tagliolini has butter sauce, which translates to minimal flavor, but is still good from the capers and shrimp. The paglia e fieno is absolutely wonderful because of the truffle oil and mushrooms. Overall, we were able to clean our plates because the food was quite tasty. I may or may not go back here again… just depends on the weather. Since they kept the doors open you might want to consider spraying yourself with mosquito repellent.

I’ve been wanting to try Taverna for the longest time, mainly for their brunch, but we went at night for a birthday dinner instead. We were able to make reservations somewhat late on a Saturday night at 8:30 but still had to wait a bit. While waiting, we looked at the menu and I swear I have never had so much difficulty choosing what to get because everything looked so good! We finally decided on the risotto con capesante and gorgonzola pizza with figs on the side. I’ve heard a lot about the risottos here, but I was just not impressed. Portion size was actually pretty large for what it’s worth, but the rice was undercooked and the flavor was somewhat lacking. The scallops were pan seared very nicely however, but I enjoyed the risotto ai frutti di mare better from what I tasted off my friend’s plate. On the other hand, the gorgonzola pizza was amazing! Even without the figs, the pizza had a slightly sweet flavor to it! This is definitely a pizza that I would crave again. I was also able to try some fritto misto and vongole in bianco. The fritto misto was an interesting twist to just getting calamari and I did enjoy it. The zucchini and carrots were so slicely thinned that it was somewhat difficult to eat. The clams were also very good and I enjoyed the broth it came in but nothing incredibly outstanding. They also gave the birthday boy a complimentary birthday dessert with a sparkler! Service was very slow, but it was also very busy. It took us a while to get seated and took even longer to put in our order. Our waiter was nice though and I would come back and give this place another try.

Came here on a nice 65 degree Saturday afternoon for some brunch and immediately loved the ambiance. It’s not a huge restaurant but it’s cozy and it really promotes the outside patio area where it’s the perfect place for some people watching. The prices, while slightly on the higher side, are definitely not as bad as some of the surrounding restaurants. Our waiter was nearby pretty much at all times during a Saturday full-packed brunch service. The food on the other hand, took quite a while. For four people who ordered similar items, the total wait was probably an hour for our food. Luckily, I was with some good company and the color of the mimosas were pretty clear(light on the O.J.). So after about 6 mimosas I wasn’t as concern with the passing time. As an appetizer we started with a dessert: beignets. They were just okay for me. The little round beignets were not too sweet by themselves only coated lightly with powdered sugar. The cappuccino sauce that it came with was the real money maker for me. For my brunch meal I ordered the Eggs al forno all ‘olio tartufato. 2 pan-fried eggs with breakfast sausage served with garlic bread with truffle oil and breakfast potatoes. I have nothing to complain about other than maybe they added a little too much truffle oil to the eggs. But everything came out hot and the eggs were runny in the middle, just how I like them. A buddy of mine ordered the special, which was chicken parmesan with the same sides as mine and it was incredibly good. This, plus the mimosas and friends, made my morning quite enjoyable.

Taverna has always been one of my go-to spots for brunch. This new location is in a more convenient spot, so I understand why they made the move. I did notice that ever since the move to this new location next to their sister restaurant, Toulouse, the mimosas went up one dollar. I guess they needed to go up in prices to cover their extended patio and bigger dining area. I appreciate Taverna opening a bigger space because the wait time has been cut in half. Along with their amazing mimosas that barely has any OJ in it, the food is always on point. My favorite menu item is always the waffle since it is so soft and creamy. I also really adore the Shrimp and Asparagus Omelette with Hollandaise. All in all, Taverna is one of the best spots for brunch due to its high energy, great food, and awesome $ 2 mimosas.
