Thai Away is really good. Like REALLY good! I think part of the reason I love this place is because it’s owned by a married couple who actually work there, chat with you and cook your food. I went in for my first time on Wednesday. The husband quickly made conversation with us as we waited for our food. He told us about the menu and even gave us some samples to try. His wife is Thai and makes the food so you know it is authentic. He even told us that a group of Thai kids from SMU come to Thai Away for lunch frequently because it’s the only place they can find in Dallas that has authentic Thai food. Everyone should try Thai Away. It’s very small. More of a take-out type of place then a sit down and eat restaurant. Oh, and did I mention they deliver? I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I am 100% in love with this place, y’all. I haven’t been able to find Thai delivery, only pick-up, and seriously I’d prefer to stay at home in my pajamas but still consume Thai food, rather than having to drive and pick it up. I got the menu in my little 75206 magazine thing for living in The Village, and the Boy and I decided to give it a shot. He’s not a huge Thai food fan, but I talked him into getting some beef pad see ew. Ordered some chicken satay(which were small, but still delicious), and I got chicken pad see ew for myself. My god, the portion size is RIDICULOUS! After eating, I ended up with leftovers for lunch AND dinner the next day. The food is delicious, and delivery time is acceptable(I can’t really complain about it, though, because delivery people ALWAYS get lost coming to my apartment for some reason). I definitely recommend this place for all of your Thai delivery needs.

Summary: $ 9 for a huge noodle dish that was very satisfying. I ordered a laht na for take-out. A laht na is a pad se ew but with gravy. I wish it had more vegetable variety but it consisted primarily of broccoli. The pan-fried noodles were packaged separately and were delicious. If I’m back in the neighborhood and have a craving for Thai, I’m definitely coming back.

So today my partner and I were hungry for Thai food. Everywhere we were looking at was closed and we needed someone who would deliver. I went out on a limb and decided to call Thai away after reading some reviews on Unilocal.I wasn’t expecting them to be able to deliver since I live downtown and they are located in park cities. That being said, I received the ultimate form of customer service at Thai Away. Not only was the man who answered the phone very cordial, but they went out of their way to deliver to me. I was pleasantly surprised that they were also willing to make my curry vegetarian(no duck sauce). I got the red curry with tofu and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! Huge chunks of Thai tofu and eggplant! We shared the corn patties, which were different than traditional patties but made my tummy happy. I’d also like to add that they have a good selection of vegetarian dishes and vegan options! My partner got Thom Khaa soup and she raved about it. She also got yellow curry with chicken and enjoyed it as well. The portions were huge and I’ll have enough to eat for lunch and maybe dinner tomorrow. I’m giving Thai Away 5 stars for their delicious food and excellent customer service. The food baby in my tummy is happy!

This place teeters on the edge between 3 or 4 stars. We ordered dinner from here last night and it was overall pretty good. An order of yummy potstickers, chicken green curry, and chicken pra ram totaled just under $ 25 – not too bad, especially considering the generous portions. No complaints with the potstickers, but the green curry was a little on the salty side and they were kinda skimpy with the chicken. Oh well. Also, my husband and I had never tried pra ram before(peanut sauce w/bean sprouts and broccoli), but are familiar with other dishes w/peanut sauce. I don’t know if pra ram specifically is a sweeter-tasting peanut sauce than what is used for satay, but either way, it was sweeter than expected, but not bad. For an inexpensive, generous portion of Thai food, Thai Away is all right with me. I probably will only be getting food from here every once in a while, but I am satisfied with my experience.

The food was really good. Me and my boyfriend got shrimp basil fried rice, some noodle dish with beef, and chicken panang curry. I liked pretty much everything, but the shrimp was over cooked. The flavors were so good and the heat was just where I like it. I am so excited to find a good panang curry that I can have delivered.

I am a connoisseur of Thai food, and I am legitimately obsessed with this restaurant. If I could, I would eat here every day. Everything I’ve gotten has been incredibly delicious — Pad See Ew, glass noodles, Basil noodles, EVERYTHING! The egg rolls are to die for. Plus, they serve awesome bubble tea. As a vegetarian, almost everything I have ordered from here has included tofu — it is delicious! To top it off, the couple that own the restaurant are wonderfully nice and helpful. I could sit there and talk to them all day. The service is quick, and any wait is so worth it. Clearly, I cannot say enough good things about Thai Away. I just moved to Plano and don’t know how I’ll live without my favorite restaurant…

I really liked the wings, but that’s about it. We ordered yellow curry, pork mussaman, and garlic beef. The owner was very helpful and attentive. He definitely appreciates Unilocalers. However, I probably won’t be ordering from here again. They’re not as fast as Wai Wai(not their fault, they were relatively quick considering where i live in relation to their location, but Wai Wai is crazy fast.) The curries had a strange aftertaste that didn’t agree with me. I think this is a personal thing, and they just weren’t doing it for me. Based off of Nadine’s review I would give it a shot, maybe it will agree with you better than it did me.

Finally, an alternative to the usual Pei Wei of Preston Center. And a much tastier alternative at that! The place itself wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s small – just enough room for a kitchen, a register, and some chairs to sit while waiting for your food order. There are two lonely tables outside, so expect to bring your food back to the office. That said, delivery is free, and they even deliver to downtown were I live – a big plus! I ordered the fried potstickers(7 for $ 5) and the spicy basil noodles with chicken($ 8). Very reasonable prices. After waiting only 5 minutes, my food was ready, and I hauled my butt back to the office to devour my lunch(which smelled heavenly). The first bite of my chicken basil noodles put an instant smile on my face. I might even have let out a moan, I can’t remember. It was delicious. The rice noodles were huge and coated with just enough sauce. The portion of chicken was generous, as was the entire dish. A very good value. The potstickers were tasty, too. They contained chicken, ginger, and scallion. For their diminutive size, they packed a lot of flavor. I usually travel to Sukhothai in Arlington for my Thai fix, but I might save myself some gas money after discovering Thai Away.

Thai food to-go. No seated dining. There are two little tables on the sidewalk, but they are going to be full during the noon hour. Be prepared to take these meals back to your office and eat at your desk! If you do, you will want a nice sharp shiny fork to use to defend your plate from any adjacent office-mates…this is good food! I can see myself working my way through their menu. Today I ordered the Masaman Curry. The chicken was tender, the sauce just about perfect. My companion had the Beef & Broccoli. She says that she will be back, that it was one of the best she has had for a pretty long time. Go at lunch so you can get dessert at Pannani’s Bakery. They are only two doors down from Thai Away. Pannani’s closes at 3. It occurs to me that perhaps my alterations person might suggest that I go only after Pannani’s has closed for the day!

I ordered from here after seeing that a new thai restaurant had opened(while driving by)…decided to try it when Thai food was on my mind watching football on a Sunday. I placed the order, and they were nice enough to add three free eggrolls… nice start! I am into curry dishes, so what the heck, I ordered two: the panang with chicken, medium spice, and the green curry with chicken, medium spice. My wife got the Pad Thai with chicken, and we ordered steamed dumplings for an appetiser. My order arrived in 20 minutes, super fast(I expected 45). The steamed dumplings were great, but the absolute best was the Panang curry. Wow! Size was generous on all, and this is definitely in my top 10 thai places in Dallas. The delivery is a major bonus. Highly recommend!

On the coldest day of the year, I was eager to order some delivery rather than changing out of my sweatpants and going out. I’m a huge fan of Thai 2 Go on Forest Lane, but the last time I ordered from them, they told me that they opened a new location closer to me, and they promised the food would be the same. This is Thai Away on Sherry Lane, and I decided to give it a shot. I tried the fried potstickers and the Panang curry chicken. They were both excellent, definitely up to the standards of the original restaurant. The prices are a little higher, 80 cents higher for all entrees, to be exact. Like the original restaurant, there’s no extra charge for delivery, and they were really fast. I think my order got here within 30 minutes, and everything was hot and delicious. Most importantly, I did not have to make myself presentable in order to eat delicious Thai food. I’ll definitely order from them again. Thanks, Thai Away! **Update** After visiting several more times, I highly recommend the following: red, green, and panang curries with chicken, Pad Prig King(stir fry), fried tofu appetizer, tom yum soup, and spicy basil noodles. I do not recommend the chicken wings or yellow curry.
