I’ve been coming here for the last couple of years, and the gentleman who runs it has always been a pleasure and will greet you with a handshake upon arrival. Guys, I’m telling you, you want the best shave next to a barber? Get your tools here, and while you’re at it buy a straight edge. It’s my next purchase.

I agree with a prior review. Be very descriptive and maybe use the mirror every now and then. Not wait until the end. I went in for a trim with a full beard with length. I asked to even it up and try to keep as much length as possible. When all is said and done trimmed it a lot shorter then I wanted. I will admit though it did not look to bad at first(even though he did not follow instruction). It wasn’t until I got home and really looked at it and it was VERY uneven underneath which I had to correct myself. So be very careful going here for a beard trim if you have a full beard. The products are great, it’s just the barber need more training after all it is a specialty store.

Wow. I have never had a professional shave before. Corey is incredible. He is so precise, my goatee looks better than ever. He has a wonderful demeanor and is a delight to just talk with. I highly recommend The Art of Shaving and Corey at Northpark.

My husband was so excited to stock up on supplies and begin using their products. However, when we walked in the salesman never even looked up from his cell except for a brief moment to answer a call and then right back down. No hi or can I help you. Nothing. Guess we will take our money elsewhere.

This place is awesome. My girlfriend have me a personal shave as a gift. I was skeptical at first thinking«isn’t it a little girly to get a facial, and do I want someone at my neck with a sharp blade? « Boy was I wrong. The hot towels and rose oil felt great. You feel like a new man after having the close shave and personal attention. I wish I could remember the barber’s name, but he was great. I can’t recommend this place a lot.

If you’re going to get a beard trim I would be very, Very, VERY descriptive. Bring photos and ask for a mirror while they work. I thought I had described a natural more full look just mildly tapered. What he heard is make me look like V for Vendetta.

Anytime I’ve been inside Northpark Mall I’ve noticed this place and always wondered how great it would be to get a straight razor shave. I finally mustered up the courage and set an appointment. 2 o’clock and I was sitting in the chair. I instructed Corey or Cody(I can’t recall his name) of the style I was going for, mutton chops. He was excited to perform that shave, he was very kind and explained everything he was doing as he did it. From electric clippers to trim down two months worth of beard growth, to a hot towel, pre-shave oil, shave cream, the actual shave, cold towel, and after shave. I chose sandalwood, which was very pleasant and my girlfriend loved the scent too. Overall, I had a very good experience. He even took a picture of my mutton chops after the shave. I would recommend it to anyone looking to ditching the 3 – 5 blade razor and switching to a straight razor. That was my whole point in going. I would probably go again just for the experience.

while visiting my cousin in dallas, i stopped into the art of shaving at north park mall. i’ve been in the market for a razor set for some time because 1) the store bought razors are way too expensive for the value and quality and 2) i’ve always wanted a real mans shaving set like my grandpa’s. i was very impressed with their store and customer service. i thnk the lady i worked with – was kathy. i didn’t purchase – but i plan to soon online(i’m live out of town). kathy didn’t let me walk out without samples of the pre-shave oil, shave cream, and aftershave. the samples also included a $ 25 off coupon on a future purchase of the set. i’m sold!!! great store!

Like any other guy that has a five o’clock shadow by noon, I enjoy a good close shave. Ever since I saw my father get a straight razor shave in Matamoros, Mexico where the barber used Tequila instead of after shave, I have wanted to try one myself. However, each barber that I had been to did not offer a shave… just a Mach 3 shave at best, which never seemed worth it. I then received a gift card for The Art of Shaving for a shave. Booking the appointment was a little more difficult than expected… this place seems to be quite popular. They only do shaves on the weekends during North Park Mall hours. Everyone that works there was very helpful and laid back. To the shave… this was one helluva a gift. The barber is friendly(if I’m going to allow a stranger to hold a straight razor to my neck, they damn well better be friendly). They do one shave at a time and the chair is directly in front of the window facing the mall, which means you turn into the latest and greatest circus act for the mall goers. The shave takes thirty minutes with all the bells and whistles. After my shave I did not have to shave for two days! While waiting to settle up I ended up grabbing several of their items for shaving. Now I am addicted and can’t use anything else. It’s like crack for your face. Even though this store is for a mens shave they have a few items for women as well. A straight razor shave from The Art of Shaving is definitely not something that I see done on a regular basis but it is a nice treat every once in a while. TIP**Spending $ 35 in the store will get you a free shave that they keep on file for you. However, they may have bumped it up to $ 45.
