im not sure what they’ve been having go on, but they won’t even let their valuable customers know anything. their sign on the door read 7 days a week, and doesn’t close before, what…9 or 10pm? so i’ve gotten my whole job buying food from there. only one person goes to pick up. on 3 different occasions, i or a co-worker has been up there with atleast 5 orders… no one is there??? then when u call and ask they hours of operation, they tell u 7 days a week… and when u bring up the fact that they’ve been closing when they want, and what’s the actuall schedule, they refuse to say whats tha deal and continue to claim 7 days a week? sooooo, u want us to keep going up there to a closed operation that claims to be open? and will not give you any explanation? what? is code compliance coming by or something? i don’t feel that’s cool, not letting valuable customers know when and when not to waste time and gas… having everyone to reorder from somewhere else we didn’t even have a taste for? yea, something aint right. they good, but not that good.

I wanted to buy lunch for the dealership I work at this Saturday. Spoke with Eddie on the phone yesterday and he quoted me $ 175 for a large pan of chopped beef, which was 22 lbs of meat. Called back to order and he said he would do 2 pans of beans, buns, mild sauce, and hot sauce for an extra $ 40. With tax, the total bill would be around $ 230. Sent my porter to pick up lunch today and the large 22 lb pan turned into a small 10 lb pan. I just weighed it. He convinced my porter that one pan wouldn’t be enough for 65 employees and that he would do another pan for«just $ 100 more.» My porter believed him and paid $ 100 of his own money to cover the difference. So, the $ 175 pan of meat just turned into a $ 275 pan of meat overnight. It’s unfortunate that some people feel the need to conduct business this way. Just be honest. The sad part is, Eddie could’ve had our business in the future and made much more than the extra $ 100 he made today. Your loss Eddie.

Good treasure, I live right around the corner for years and never knew this little secluded spot was so close. I can say it was pretty good and the prices are reasonable. Can’t wait to go back

This place is really hard to find unless you know exactly where to go. It’s away from the main street, kind of on an access road down below an overpass. Inside, I found all of the delightful ambiance of a storage shed. These weren’t the friendliest barbecue purveyors I’ve encountered. In fact, they seemed slightly annoyed at the 2 or 3 questions I dared to ask about the menu. All things considered, I decided a to-go order was most appropriate. I usually like to grab a three-meat combo so that I can sample as many different items as possible. Here, my best option was a Mixed Plate(two meats and two sides). This was the first time I’ve encountered bbq summer sausage, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Ribs were an easy pick for my second meat. I also wanted to add on a ¼ pound of sliced brisket as well, but I was told that the minimum order was ¾ pound. Without knowing the quality of their brisket, I wasn’t willing to drop that kind of cash today. For my two sides, I picked sweet potatoes and green beans. I’m not sure if the green beans were fresh or canned, but they had a nice flavor nonetheless. As for the sweet potatoes, they had a deliciously sweet aroma and an equally sugary glaze. The slight hint of cinnamon gave them a great taste. The summer sausage probably would have been better without the outer wrapper still attached. Considering that the remnants of a nutrition label were staring me in the face, it was clear that the summer sausage was not made in-house. A few of my unwrapped slices had a good char on them, so that’s something at least. I enjoyed the flavor of garlic and black pepper, though someone other than The Bar-B-Q Crib(perhaps Hillshire Farm?) deserves credit for that. The gnarly, mangled ribs were absolutely terrible. It was as if they had given me the discarded pieces from several other slabs. Some weren’t even whole ribs, just rib tips. When I worked up enough courage to eat them, I found the ribs dry, bland, and completely overcooked. I caught a slight sweetness which suggested an attempt at a glaze, but there wasn’t nearly enough of it. With the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service only a quarter-mile down the street, maybe it’s time for The Bar-B-Q Crib to lay their lifeless meats to rest.

Walked in, started looking at the menu and about 10 seconds later a young lady picked up a Styrofoam box and asked«What do you want?» I walked right back out. The meats were sitting out in the open in piles and they did not look good enough to deal with that kind of rude behavior.

Never had a bad meal in 4 months of visiting. Sauce(mild) is sweet and tangy. Food portions are healthy. Vegetable sides are available to assist my diet goals. Finish the meal with a good cake slice if you can. So close to work and tempted to visit every day.
