As far as food trucks go, this is one of my favorites. The Beef-N-Mac is delicious! Pulled pork like beef BBQ sauce and Mac and cheese, don’t miss it! Do miss the Southern style slider. Even though the actual fried chicken is good the gravy was not. It had a school like gel look to it. Think, school cafeteria gravy. The Dead Elvis was a big hit with the kids. Nutella, peanut butter and bacon. How could this go wrong?!?

Amazing sliders! Came here during the summer and loved it! Definitely the go to cart in my opinion. The southern hospitality slider was my favorite and I can’t wait to go back to Dallas so I can order a bunch of them again.

The wait was long, which was not their fault. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and had to get it to go. They had no to-go bags so I walked it all the way back to the office with my food out in the open, which was also forgivable. What was not forgivable was that I took a bite and realized that it wasn’t chicken. It also wasn’t beef. Those were the two options of quesadillas on their menu. Instead I got chopped up franks/hot dogs.(To be honest, I can’t tell.) WHAT? I wasn’t going to walk back another 10 minutes to get it fixed and walk back to the office again on a busy day, but this is ridiculous. I would understand if they ran out and asked me if a substitution was okay. I would understand if they gave me beef instead of chicken on accident, but hot dogs? It was obvious that they ran out of the chicken and just decided to put whatever meat in there without even asking if it’s okay. I would have said no and moved on, but they just charged me and let it be. Good thing I wasn’t religious or allergic to anything, but I’m still really annoyed!

The Butcher’s Son is THEBESTFOODTRUCK in all of Dallas/Ft.Worth! Hands down they knock out the flavors every single time! I first had them at a Unilocal event and I try and follow them where ever they will be. The Mac-n-Beefy slider is my favorite thing to eat with tater tots. You can’t go wrong with tater tots EVER! The beef on this slider is so juicy and mixed with the mac-n-cheese just completes the taste in ways I really can’t describe! I get filled up eating it! If you have the room and are SUPER hungry or want to take some home for later, do The Butcher’s 3-Way. For a nominal price you get your choice of 3 sliders or 2 sliders and tots. This is the best deal around and you get to try more than one all at once. The Mama Mia is also an excellent choice to do in combination with the Mac-n-Beefy. They also do quesadillas very well along with brats via the Small Plate. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve and you can a discount if you follow them on Twitter. You can find them all the time at Klyde Warren Park but they get around all over. You can also hire them for special events. Check their website for more info!

I’ve eaten here before, I ate The Mac-N-Cheesy; the messier the better! Although the food is good and unique. Just be ready for terrible service! The line is unnecessary long, this is due to the fact that when you walk up to the window he will rudely ask for your name then makes you wait for five minutes till he is done talking to the other employees. Rude! After people have waited in line for 15 minutes they walk to the window to be told they are out of what they wanted. I’ve seen other food trucks and they usually cross out what they are out of. If you can get passed the horrible Service the sliders are really good. They are $ 4 and my advice is to mix and match.

My husband and I just attended an event at Stovall Park in Arlington, we both tried the Butcher’s Son truck. It was delicious. He had the Brat Reuben, the brat was really good and kraut had a great flavor, it was not too sauer. I had the Cajun Yankee, great toasted brioche roll with some of the best pastrami I’ve had outside NYC. We also tried the lime tots, they’ll make you pucker for sure, but were also very tasty. At the end of the evening we also tried some Nutella bacon sliders, a bit different but good fun.

I stopped at The Butcher’s Son in Klyde Warren Park today. Had a mix of 3 sliders. The mac and beefy, the southern Belle, and the longhorn. Pretty tasty. Good amount of food and very different from what you would expect from a food truck. I would recommend this to anyone who is hungry for something different.

Went to a park in Dallas today and there were a few lunch trucks out there. I couldn’t decide between this and some Vietnamese sandwiches but I finally decided on this after no one was at the other spot. I had the beef sliders which I thought were okay. The beef was a little dry and had a gamey after taste. I’m not sure I’d try them again, maybe give a try to a different slider.

I had a trio of sliders and tots. The sliders were good, but nothing great. One slider had brisket and mac and cheese, but it was a mac and cheese square. It was all kind of dry and the mac and cheese wasn’t very flavorful, but the brisket was pretty good. The second slider was the fried chicken with potato spread [the truck was out of gravy]. The chicken was essentially a chicken tender, but the potato spread was really garlicky and gave most of the flavor to the sandwich. Luckily I love garlic, but overall this sandwich was dry without the gravy. The third was the meatball, this one was probably the best as the meatball was fairly moist and a decent size for the bun. They mixed up my order at first, so I had to wait again, overall I probably waited 15 – 20 minutes for three little sliders that only needed to be assembled. The tots, however, were super delicious.

Stopped by yesterday for lunch at Klyde Warren park. It was miserable outside but service was fast and food was awesome. I suggest the Nutter butter tots. You won’t be disappointed. I’d definitely give them another try!

The only redeeming thing was their Lime Tots, which was delicious if you like lime on your food. Only $ 3 for a huge bag of tots, well worth the money! However, the service itself was super slow, and the food was not worth the wait. The sliders I had(Mac-N-Beefy & Southern Hospitality) weren’t that great. The gravy on the Southern Hospitality was cold, and made the chicken pretty soggy. The Mac-N-Beefy was better, but not much. It was 90% Mac-n-cheese and 10% beef. Probably wouldn’t return to this food truck if I was in the area as there are plenty of other trucks that seem to have better food.

My absolute favorite guilty pleasure is the Longhorn! The braised beef is magical. After one of these bad boys I’m always pretty stuffed but I usually get two and eat the other one later because they’re 2 for $ 7.99! I basically stalk their Twitter feed(@TheButchersSon) to see where they’re posted for the day. Saw a post that they were in the Irving area and my mom and I nearly sprinted to the car lol! Definitely a ride well worth it. We caught them right before they were packing up! Shoutout to the two guys on Esters today! Amazing food always — rain, sleet or snow! –jasmine

I got the German Connection for the side of tots and the portion was huge! I was so happy with all the tots I got, but I had to share with 2 of my friends since I couldn’t finish it all. The currywurst was good, but tasted a little too much of some kind of modified barbecue sauce. Very very filling and I’m glad I chose to wait for Butcher’s Son even though it was 100+ degrees that day! Will come back to try their quesadillas and voodoo tots, they sound really tasty

I got two of the Mac N Beefy sliders for my boyfriend and I and regular tots and I really wish I didn’t. The slider was dry and it didn’t have much taste to it. Why put Mac N Cheese in it if you can’t even taste it? And the tots had too much salt and pepper. For $ 12, I was expecting so much more but sadly, I am really disappointed. Save your money and go to another food truck if you’re at Klyde Warren Park.

I hit Butcher’s Son yesterday outside of the hotel when I was attending the Texas Pinball Festival in Frisco. Although I perked up at the sight of that Dead Elvis on the menu, I was really wanting to go savory this time, so I settled on the Panhandle Po’boy, featuring braised beef, Andouille sausage, onion, fresh cilantro and pepper jack cheese on a Brioche bun. I also opted for lime tots with the«secret seasoning» which turned out to be… wait for it… fresh lime. :) The sandwich was sublime, with the bun being fresh and soft, the meat being flavorful but not BBQy sweet and the onion and cilantro making it burst with fresh flavor. There was also, of course, a big hunka juicy sausage sliced in half in there. It all made for a very substantial sandwich. Those crispy tots from my previous review? Still here, big time. No, literally, big. They should offer a «small» size, because the serving you get is enough to send one person into«tot shock». But damn, they are good. Crispy, not too salty, and although I wouldn’t have though it, that squeeze of fresh lime adds a great flavor note. If there’s a knock at all, the place is getting a little spendy; my sandwich and tots were $ 13, but they could have easily fed two people, plus it’s hard to put a price on quality.

I loved the southern hospitality the most! The Mama Mia was also so good, and then the longhorn… get the 3 slider combo so you can at least try 3… but get the southern hospitality! Fried chicken with gravy on a slider? WIN!!! We got to try this at a food truck event and they were quick to serve and friendly guys!

I know that food trucks are all the rage… but lately it seems like EVERYONE is opting for a food truck over hard shell for food service. I tried a slider trio and was terribly unimpressed with ANY of the three. I also got the lime tots… yeah, I’d skip those too. I just don’t get it, food was barely edible… in fact I threw all the buns away. To much bread, no flavor, nothing special at all. I’m just so sad about this!

So. Good. All I ordered was one southern hospitality slider, and when I received it I began to regret not ordering 3 simply because of how small it looked. To my surprise, however, it ended up being the perfect size! Unexpectedly filling for a little slider. I’m picky when it comes to chicken, but it was cooked perfectly and the bun was very fresh. I also tried a few of the lime tots which are the perfect size for sharing. Can’t wait to go back! Update: tried the southwest chicken quesadillas the other day, and they were ah-mazing! Messy, but amazing. And yeah chicken sausage on a quesadilla might sound weird, but it totally works.

Oyyyy. I really really struggled with 2 stars bc I’m a food truck foodie and have thoroughly enjoyed the ones I’ve had the good fortune to indulge to date. But giving them an A-OK felt a bit worse. So 2 stars Meh it is. My first visit was much better about a year ago. Not sure what happened to piping hot, succulent belly bliss. Both visits during lunch. The good — Staff was cheerful, menu is appealing. And while standing in line to place my order, drooling over the mouthwatering creations that passed me by and relishing in the swift whiffs of BBQ deliciousness floating on the wind — my belly worked up quite a rumble for what promised to be a major dose of belly bliss. Not so good — A bit put off by the guy shaking his tip cup as people paid for orders. I guess it’s a hard gig but seemed a bit pushy to demonstrate tips were expected. And out of tots at 1pm? Sigh. The meh — Sadly my belly bliss was halted by sheer belly disappointment. I ordered a Mac & Cheese BBQ slider and a Southern Fried Chicken slider. Sliders were room temp. If hit a grill, maybe a millisecond. The mac was just shy of a perfectly cut stale brick, coupled with salty, dry BBQ. The southern chicken seasoning was good, the mashed potato slather was OK and the gravy was tasty. Overall, meh. Definitely had better.
