AKA The Miramar. I have been here for 4 years and NOTHING is good about here. Office people change often and most are rude. I have problems in my apartment that need to repaired and they will not fix any thing. My fire place is bowed out from the wall about 4 – 6 inches and has been that way since we moved into this unit. The ceiling is slowly coming down. The paint is drooping down the wall. I have not had hot water in 2 years. They have been more focused on renovating the office and pool and painting the outside to fool potential renter. The investors of this property do not realise where this property is. There was a murder the other day less than a minute up the road. I want out but I keep getting stuck here.

I lived at Miramar for nearly two years. It was, by far, the worst apartment experience I have ever had. Roaches are rampant during the summer. EVERYTHING broke down repeatedly — dishwasher, toilet, shower, faucet, both locks on the front door at the same time… and the staff would refuse to fix it unless I hampered them for weeks, sometimes months. Once, I went without a working toilet for 9 days. Another time, my front door would not lock for over a week. My dishwasher didn’t work for the last year I lived there. My car was«accidentally» towed three times while I was living there and they refused to pay for it. If you ever need to talk to higher management, good luck. JoAnn was the manager when I lived there. She sucks. When I moved out, they tried to hit me with a $ 600 bill, claiming that I had had«pet damage»(I have never owned a pet and I left the apartment in good condition). I think it was retaliation for all the times I insisted they come fix stuff. Also, they tried to fine me every other month. I always fought their fines and usually won, after threatening to take legal action. Once, they tried to fine me for«not maintaining the landscape» in front of my unit. Excuse me? Isn’t it THEIR responsibility to mow the freaking lawn? Another time, I came home late at night to find that my locks had been changed. No, they weren’t trying to lock me out. They had lost my spare key and tried to blame it on me. They said I had borrowed their spare key and never had returned it, which was false. So, what did they do? They didn’t call me and ask me for a copy. Nope. They changed my locks and left a $ 300 bill on claiming that I was responsible for paying for the new lock. I won’t get into all the other absurd fines they tried to levy against me… Don’t expect to be able to use the pool. It was out of order for most of the time I was living there, including the summers. About the neighborhood — don’t be surprised if you find a homeless person sleeping the laundry room. Also, you will regularly see people standing out front of the complex selling drugs. The security gate was always broken, so any of the many crackheads who live in the area could walk right in. When I first moved in there, they had fantastic ratings online and also had all kinds of awards posted in their office for customer satisfaction. I have no idea how they got those rewards but I am certain that the online reviews were fake. Nobody I know who has ever lived there has been anything but very dissatisfied. I know it’s cheap — that’s what attracted me at first — but you will be miserable for the next year. Do not live here. If your choice is to be homeless or live here, I would strongly recommend looking for a shelter. Management is awful and takes advantage of immigrant and low income residents. There are cockroaches. They tow everyone’s car, resident or not. Like I said, shelter, couch, somebody’s closet, a tent in the backyard? Be creative!
