Don’t go here. You’ll ruin it. This place is awesome. Sweet bartender, nice patrons, a fire pit, and cheap booze. Also, totally decent jukebox and occasional free food. It’s a great neighborhood bar.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s the perfect place to watch the packer game! I’m from Wisconsin and I felt like I was back home. The drinks are cheap and the staff is great! I will definitely be back here.

This place is exactly what you want your neighborhood bar to be-cheap, full of friendly regulars, personable bartenders, and a firepit out back. In short perfection. Been there a few times and never had a bad time. Cheapest drinks around and mixed well Not fancy, but that’s not what you are looking for, is it? Make sure you take the time to talk to the regulars– they are really friendly and have some great stories. Damn, I think I may need to head up there right now…

This place gets ALL5 stars for personality and inexpensive liquor– ONNEWYEAR’S EVE, no less!!! They had a couple pot luck snack tables set up for patrons to place shared food they had brought. There were some really good bites. The bartender came around making sure everyone was kosher on drinks. We spent most of our time at an outdoor DIY firepit. It was a cold night, but the fire made it bearable. I had 2 Honey Cokes with double the Jim Beam Honey. and a Coke, while my hubby had one of the double alcohol Honey Cokes, another drink and a Shiner. Our tab was only $ 17! Seriously!!! «Yes, our prices are cheap!» the bartender said. No kidding!!! I found my favorite new dive bar!!! I still like the Grapevine, and Lee Harvey’s is still on the list, but the Fireplace Lounge my have raced to #1 on my dive bar list!

A bar that’s a simple white building in the middle of a large lot that the regulars park all around, with a cozy fire pit out back. Inside is the kind of straight forward drinking bar that exists in many small towns from Texas to the Midwest. Friendly regulars and bartenders will chat your night away. Whiskey n coke or can beer, your in the right spot.

You will either love or hate the FPL. I personally love it. The owners are from Wisconsin, which doesn’t seem to be a state a lot of people in Dallas are from. They are a Packers bar, but they don’t really have a lot of TVs like a regular sports bar. There is a jukebox with a nice range of different kinds of music. The regulars and bartenders are some of the sweetest folks you’ll meet in a bar, and the drinks are cheap. Sure, the bathroom is a little sketchy. For the ladies, the toilet is sort of jammed in a corner at an angle that makes it a bit awkward to use. For the gents, there’s a urinal covered in plastic and duct tape signifying its serious out-of-order-ness. Convenient location next door to a liquor store in case you need to pick something up for the next morning.

I love this place. I am finding new hole-in-the-wall spots to add to my list of hideaways! I went to the Fireplace Lounge for the first time for a UYE Potluck. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. The inside looks like your typical neighborhood dive bar with all the memorabilia that can fit on the wall. The coolest part is the fire pit outside! Standing around the fire, drinking a beer, talking to new folks… best time ever! The only thing missing was the s’mores! The prices are cheap but the people aren’t! Just down-home and nice! This isn’t a hipster place so don’t invade and mess it up! Please and thank you!

I figured Pat Baby would enjoy it here, but he said it reminded him too much of Georgia. The doors stay open, the back has a fire pit to congregate around, the ceiling is falling apart with damaged areas being hidden by beer banners, the bartender has jugs like giant water balloons and calls me sweetheart to make me feel special… Yes, you’re going to do a big WTF when you come here. Check yo self, check yo car, watch yo back, but know it’s not as dangerous as it seems. The drinks are cheap and you may think some of the people are sketchy, but this is the friendliest true dive bar. It’s not a pretend dive bar for trendy folk, this is real, down and dirty. They’ve got a jukebox and a few games to play. Women have to learn to pee sideways or something because the toilet is in wack shape next to the sink(don’t look at the ground… just don’t). It’s all still quite charming to me as I tire of pompous lounges that suck money out of you. The people are very welcoming and down to earth here. It’s a perfect breather from normal Dallas places, just don’t come dressed in your Louboutins.

Unilocal keeps recommending that I review Fireplace Lounge. Even thought I don’t feel that I should, because then it will publicize what only a few select people know about this place. What I really want to say is to stay in Uptown. stay in Deep Ellum. Don’t go south of Mockingbird Lane. But for those who live outside the box and experience the greatness of the Fireplace Lounge will never look at life the same. Fireplace will never cave in to be a trendy spot. It will be true to you and all your friends. The drinks are fairly priced. The juke box is stacked with good music. Lots of classic soul and country hits to keep you dancing for a month of Saturdays. There is ONE pool table to help pass the time, if you’re the restless type. I recently met a couple Cowboy cheerleaders there. They look better on TV and the hair on their legs were a bit stubbly. Sunday it’s a Green Bay Packers bar. I’m not a Packers fan, so don’t expect to see me there. Fireplace is hardcore and I like it that way.

This is easily becoming another favorite place of mine. Wonder if I shouldn’t have reviewed it and make it known what a great bar this is. Actually, I think it’s okay. This bar takes all kinds of people. Last night we strolled in and ordered drinks. Some dude at the end of the bar paid for our drinks. How cool and nice is that. This place is always guaranteed a good time. Met me there tonight?

Fireplace Lounge is a dark dive with friendly bartenders and patrons. The outside is a nondescript white wooden structure resembling a house. Inside is cozy with bar stools that hark back to the ‘80s. Beer is offered in cans and bottles only, which is a bummer since I dig the draft beer. I do get to use my koozie, which is cool. The offering of liquor is just right both in selection and price. Hang out there long enough and you’re bound to be having some good ol’ fun.
