Old numb management gone and bar stools are back at the bar as well as food. Hopefully Mansion management has learned from the number of regulars $$$$ they lost. Same great bartenders and the live music on Friday and Saturday night is excellent except for the one group that plays more than any other under various names to disguise that it is the same group you heard last night and last weekend and the weekend before. Overall great bar experience with excellent ambiance and some of the best bar tenders and wait staff in Dallas.

Went to the bar on Friday night — raining heavily that day but the bar was packed. Has a very intimate friendly feel. The drinks were great, the bartender recommended hot toddy for me as I had a sore throat and it hit the spot! Although Hunter Sullivan started singing later than was planned, it was a nice evening.

First visit to The Mansion for boyfriend and I. Started in the bar while waiting for our table. The bar is a beautiful, dimly lit, intimate spot. The rich, heavy wood décor gave it a pleasant old time feel, Drinks weren’t much more pricey than other places in the area and they’re generous with the pour. Great place to start or end your eve after dinner.

A while back after having dinner at The Mansion, I decided to check out the bar since I could hear live music going on. It ended up being a small bar with a cool atmosphere. The setting is dark and mysterious, yet warm and inviting. The crowd seemed to be in their 40’s-50’s on the night that I went, which was a Thursday. The live music of the night was really good and the service was on par. Our server continued to check on us, while making sure our glasses were never empty. On the way out, I ended up seeing DL Hughley walk by. I guess he was in town for a show and decided to stay at the hotel. I think it’s a great place for a date night!

The place has changed drastically over the last couple of years. The bar is so loud now that it is impossible to have a conversation with anyone with you, let alone strike a conversation with people around you. Also the valet parking started to get on my nerves. Last weekend, the valet guy I think dropped a gear or two on the ground when he put my car in reverse while still moving forward. I saw it and heard it.

The Mansion Bar is our go to place when where out and about with no real place in mind. Hunter S. is usually playing his Jazz. We somehow score a cozy little corner table and kick back hoping to see someone we know. It’s a little on the pricey side when you compare it to other bars, but the music, service and ambiance make this a worth while stop. Make sure Hunter is playing and all will be right with the world.

The Mansion bar glowed leather club chair amber red at happy hour where we bunked in a comfortable corner. Happy hour offers half off wine which gets you an $ 8 glass here amidst polite one track minded solid button down professionals who, like me, came here to feel special. Upon entering the hotels side door, the white bright high ceiling foyer with a free cream and turquoise mosaic floor whisks you from Spanish palace to the low ceiling formal drinking den reminiscent of New Yorks Carlisle, with just a splash of Dallas provinciality. Fresh olives and candied pecans were offered but the bar bites menu shockingly starts in the $ 18 range and doesn’t seem to terribly interesting or light — a burger, a cheese plate. For ambiance and happy hour this pony is a Dallas card to have tucked in your stable. Pull it out when you want to have a drink with a special friend, or to make them one.

Very nice bar located inside the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. I was with a group of 6 and we arrived around 11pm, the manager greeted us outside the door and informed us the bar was full(no seating) however there was room out on the patio. Unfortunately, it was in the 50’s and windy so we opted to leave. From what I could hear, the music sounded great, but the bar was completely under staffed. Looks like half of the bar patrons were trying to order drinks. We considered ordering a drink before exiting but it was impossible;(

It was our first date many months ago. We quickly fell in love. He ordered me the Far Niente without even asking,(because he poached me while I was on a date in his place so attentiveness to detail was cute) and a bourbon neat. We discussed the future plans for other restaurants. His Black Hair and Hazel Eyes were caught off guard by the charming heart felt conversation of being interested not just interesting. You can build all the fantasies you want when you are in a dark wood cave with low lights and rocking high heels. However they are all concrete truths now. :-) The painted picture is yours for the taking bc everyone here is walking on a dream also. Get yours. Stepping into places like the Mansion you can just be yourself. I have met so many wonderful people, gone in with other people that are phenomenal, and run into people I love. The connections you build here will last you a life time. All great company, reflections of work hard play hard. The experiences I have had here are just mind blowing how walking this life is a treasure chest full of fun. It is such a hide a way. The live music on Thursdays is a plus. The menu consist of the best brisket tacos on the planet and crack covered truffle fries, and you can still get the mini burgers but they are not on the menu. However I hate white foods, and he says it is aoili and I say it is mayo. PS they make their own tonic here and chicona(however you freaking spell it) for the Best Gin and Tonic on the Planet. Zero carbonation. If the weather is nice sit on the patio, walk through the dining area to get there. If it is not, sit by the fire place and get your legs rubbed and talk about Alaska. Valet it is your best option. They are superb.

This is my new favorite bar! The bartender is so nice and he makes EXCELLENT drinks! Don’t be fooled by the other reviews about drink prices being so high. It’s worth every penny because the drinks are outstanding. I usually get a dirty martini to start and then graduate to the Rosemary Pimm’s Cup. The bar is cozy and the lighting is perfect. Don’t leave without going outside and lounging on the patio. I could spend hours out there just soaking up the great music and atmosphere. I can’t believe I’ve been in Dallas 10 yrs and just now started going to this place. I’m going to make up for lost time!

Great spot for after dinner drinks and desert, live jazz on Saturday night. I had a martini and my date a bourbon on the rocks. Service was very fast and friendly. The deserts are a little on the small size for the price, but still good.

Disappointed. I wanted to go somewhere classy for my birthday. I put on a black tie suit and my girlfriend put on a nice dress. On approach the place looks swanky and classy. Valet takes my car and we head inside. Expected 50s/60s «Mad Men» level class and style, however, upon entering the bar we see plenty of people wearing shorts and hawaiian shirts(a.k.a. Casual attire). People dressed as if coming down from their hotel room at a Best Western. The drinks were expensive and very underwhelming. Apparently this place used to be the cream of Dallas but no longer. Overall: Not a classy place anymore. Cocktails are meh. Disappointed.

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. I’ve loved this place for years. The jazz bands on Saturday nights, always a beautiful wedding on the weekends, romantic setting and grounds, grab a great meal in the restaurant, and even stay the night in one of the elegant rooms. Sounds wonderful, right? Until a recent Saturday evening. I arrived at the bar at midnightish. The band just exited and no other music was put on. The room was full and they continued to serve for two hours without any tunes. The lights went bright, then dark. Ok, whatever. Inconvenienced but still hanging. Here’s where it gets hairy. My vodka martini shows up with a slight whiskey flavor. That’s a no no, bartender. My date ordered one of their cocktails from the menu. Wasn’t impressed. Then we ordered one appetizer. When it was delivered, they brought two appetizers and said that the serving wasn’t large enough for one to share. And charged us for it. We never said anything about this at the time but I didn’t order two. And to make assumptions that I’m willing to pay for what you think I need is presumptuous. We also waited 60 minutes for our food. I was about to leave just thinking it was forgotten when it finally showed. Furthermore, the waiter was calling us «dude». I’m in a classy establishment ordering expensive drinks. My outfit costs more than this guy made last year and he’s acting like a frat boy. C’mon, management! Fix this, please. Your reputation too valuable and prices to high to exhibit such sloppiness.

My husband and I went to the bar before our dinner reservations. It was my birthday and so I decided to splurge and get a martini with the olive frozen in an ice cube. It was one of the best dirty Martinis I think I have ever had. What a great idea! My husband says he is going to try this at home since they are my fav. As you drink this martini it gets dirtier. Anyway, best birthday drink ever!

The SETTING: Three(3) visits over the last 6 months with GF/friends The VIBE — 5 Stars — Upscale and swanky, no one is casually dressed here! Great live(typically jazz) music on the weekends, HH from 3 – 6 if you’re so inclined, $ 5 bites(limited menu items) all the time! I love the crowd, the music, the comfortable seating, pretty much everything about it… but you need to be in a certain kind of mood to come here. The SERVICE — 4.5 Stars — The staff is clearly educated about their offerings and taught to accommodate at all costs. Service is fairly quick considering the sheer number of people that seem to fit in this small place. The FOOD — 3.5 Stars — While the food is actually good, I find everything other than the $ 5 bites overpriced. You might as well go to a swanky Dallas dinner spot and then come here for drinks and music… The COCKTAILS — 4 Stars — Everything I’ve tried(Mild Sedative, French 75, Old Fashion) has been well made and enjoyable. Although slightly expensive(around $ 12/cocktail), this seems to be the new Dallas standard and isn’t priced out of the market. You are paying partially for the vibe, which I clearly enjoy. The Bottom Line — A great post dinner/charity event/wedding spot with a date or small group of friends dressed up nice for a swanky evening.

Fantastic drinks, reasonably priced($ 12), live music, cozy atmosphere. I had the mild sedative, which was freaking delicious. The waitress was a doll, and the live band was great. I’d love to come back.

Stopped by Sat. night after dinner at another restaurant, wanted to see the live music they have on the weekend. Ordered a French 75 and a Stella. The waitress took good care of us. It’s a lovely spot, very cozy and romantic. Ambiance, music and great service warrant the three and a half stars. My drink was disappointing, I had to send it back, they made it with gin, lime juice and champagne, there was a distinct lack of simple syrup and it was made with lime, instead of lemon. I would think an bar like this would get a classic drink down properly. Even when remade it failed to impress. Oh well, maybe something simpler next time.

Swank little bar, nice and dark. Happy hour is 3−6p and will get you half off the wine and beer(no cocktail action, sorry)! And the wine can have some steep prices even at the low end, so there’s that. :/ We had the cheese plate, which was ok but for $ 22 didn’t especially blow my skirt up.(And even if I weren’t having a hot and heavy affair with Scardello, I still found it a little meh.) But there are a number of yummy looking nibbles for $ 5 each(all the time, not just happy hour) so it is possible to come have a good time here without breaking the bank!
