After seeing such great work on IG and a friend referral I was super excited to give it a shot. Diana was my stylist and did such a wonderful job on my hair! She literally walked me through each step(while she was feeling under the weather) so I knew what was happening. The staff is friendly and hilarious! Everyone says hello no matter who you are even the mail man! It’s obvious the stylists have a great relationship with each other as well, which I found terrific! I felt very comfortable and will definitely refer others! Great work ladies!

Just left the hair salon and I have to say the experience was A+!!! Though there was a slight misunderstanding with my appointment time, Diana was very accommodating and did a great job with my hair! Overall I highly recommend the salon and will definitely be back(already penciled in my next appointment :)!).

6 Stars From the moment I walked in! I was warmly greeted with happy faces and welcoming attitudes. Diana was very thorough & detailed during my consultation. These girls know their stuff. Shortly into my visit, I met Jake the Great! Her name precedes her reputation & for a very good reason! Her impressive skills, styling, decorating show at The Mod Lab. Watch out big commercial franchises… The Mod Lab is dangerous!

First and foremost, I love this salon because they are invested in the art of hair. Secondly, it’s so nice having a modern hair salon in Oak Cliff which keeps up with hair trends. The price is reasonable and the salon is very clean and well taken care of. If you’re in the Oak Cliff check these ladies out.

I’ve been to this salon once before & had a great experience. Loved my color, haircut but most of all my stylist. However when I made another appointment, it went completely the other way. My appointment was canceled the day of, a couple of minutes before. I was already on my way(I live 45min. away). I was told by the girl at the front desk that something personal came up, that was out of the stylists hands, therefore she had to cancel. Which I do understand, things do happen and come up. A couple of days passed and no word back. So I called the salon to see when I would be rescheduled, only to be told the stylist was not in. So I posted my comments to her social media about my appointment. Then erased it within a few seconds, because it was not the best way to communicate with her my frustration. She then immediately sent me a text claiming I was attacking her & that she would check her schedule to bring me in to do my hair. I didn’t curse at her or put her down in any way, just let her know what my experience was. She then repeated that it was an attack & that I had not chosen the correct service I was looking for. Which I did not choose the correct service & was my mistake. I had made my appointment with her thru another app. She explained that she had canceled because had to step out to «pick up a package for the shop» which I thought they had an intern to do. She said, «sorry for the late notice» not sorry for the inconvenience or something to that effect. She just told me that I had chosen the wrong service instead of the one I wanted. Which I had done, but also I believe is why she thought it was okay to cancel on me. Now this is a stylist that I had referred my family & friends to. So to be put aside & not valued as a customer was very disappointing. As a woman it’s very difficult to find someone that you can trust with your hair, so when you actually find someone you like, it’s the best. Now I am left with the task to look for a new stylist.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I’ve been getting my hair done by Jake, the owner for over 5 years. The establishment is beautiful, but it’s Jake that keeps me coming back! This time I went in I got a baylayage done along with a hair cut & style. The blending that was done on my hair is amazing!

I recently had my first experience at the mod lab and I was a bit disappointed. The salon is very modern(hence the name) cute, and cozy. The girls there were friendly, but I just felt I was pushed to th side when other customers walked in and were offered water or coffee and I was barely greeted and my stylist was more into the girl talk than hearing what I wanted to get done that day What drew me to the mod labb was their Instagram account and seeing all the photos of their clients, I was truly impressed with their blending skills and seeing the before and after pictures. I have shoulder length dark hair and wanted a very suddlle ombré/balyage color but the end result color was a bit lighter than I expected but I still really liked it. A week later that dark caramel look faded into complete blonde streaks. I made sure all my hair products were sulfate free(my stylist told me sulfate would strip my color quickly) and only washed my hair twice a week. For the price I paid, I was really disappointed with the quality of the color and the money I spent on products trying to protect the color.
