If I could rate this place less than one star, I would! On a Wednesday night and there are more bar tenders than guests, we couldn’t get waited on. The DJ didn’t show up until 10:30 and didn’t start the karaōke until 11. Bartender was a jerk and just unhelpful. Drinks are over priced. We won’t be back! Go somewhere else and have some actual fun. Don’t waist your time here.

The Rose is a Dallas landmark! Since moving to DFW, it’s become one of my standbys. The bartenders are awesome, the drinks are cheap(and stiff) and the karaōke is the best in town. I’m a bit of a karaōke connoisseur, and their KJ — Seth — knocks it out of the park! He’s got a huge music library and plays videos between singers, which boosts the fun atmosphere even more. Like ANY popular karaōke bar, you need to get your name in pretty early, because the list books up quick. I recommend getting your song in before 10:30/11pm to make sure you get to sing. *One warning* — Seemingly ALL of SMU shows up late night on some karaōke nights… so beware of drunk college kids trying to take the mic when you’re singing LOL

A quaint little gem with surprisingly good food for a pub, the valet guy is super cool and efficient, the bartenders are fast and friendly and the karaōke is a lot of fun. Great DJ and fun mix of songs. Lots of room, big outdoor patio for the smokers, this is one of my favorite chill spots in Dallas.

I had a group come out for my bday recently, on a Friday night. It was my first time, but a few others have been before. When we arrived at 9:30pm, it was pretty dead. Maybe 2 other tables of 4 were there. One of my friend’s put in a request to sing at around 10 or so. The bar slowly started to fill up, but not crowded by any means. By 11:30 my friend still had not sang her song. When She went down to the Jack Sparrow wanna-be KJ, she asked when she would be singing. He told her she’s(whatever # it was, I wanna say 6 or 7). so she waited and waited. more then what he gave her has sang. After about #12, she went back down and asked again, he said that people were paying him to play their songs. So she put up a couple bucks and said, where will that get me? He laughed and said no where. So she handed him $ 10 and she sang 3rd. At around midnight I put in a song to sing(me, the birthday girl, who had never sang karaōke before!) It was 1:30 and I hadn’t sang my song yet. He said I was #12, but prob wouldn’t get to it in time bc of what time it was.(Keep in mind, Jack Sparrow was very rude anytime we asked him). I asked him how much it would cost me to get my song played. He said for $ 20 I would be 3rd. ONLYBECAUSEITWASMYBDAY I PAIDHIMTHEMONEY! I sang my song, paid our tabs and I’ll never go there again unless I don’t plan to sing. Bartenders were great. Better in the beginning of the night, but as it got busier, of course they got busier too. Oh and for some reason, upstairs to the far left of the bar it reeked of marijuana! Overall, do not go for karaōke unless you wanna spend extra for a stupid song(totally a rip off, he knows people will pay it so why not take advantage!?). go just to drink and listen to people trying to sing. Overall: a complete disappointment and this establishment needs to find a better KJ!

Came on a Saturday night for a friends 30th birthday party. To karaōke of course. Bar is fairly spacious. Small bartop. But enough room to dance in front of the entrance and DJ booth. They let us reserve the open space/room to the right. Standard/slightly cheaper drink prices. I think Dallas Blonde was $ 5.50 or so. Wanna-be Dave Navarro/Criss Angel DJ was kind of rude and dismissive. Like Vivian said, it seemed like unless you were a regular or a favorite of his you were put last in rotation. Our party alone was about 30+. Had we not have been there it wouldn’t have been very busy. I went up to him several times and was ignored/unacknowledged. Given the«hold on one second index finger.» Nevermind then! Overall we had a good time, which we would have anywhere. Not my favorite karaōke bar. I’ll take The Tavern on Main Street for my first pick.

After recently moving to the area, we had high hopes for this spot. The service started out alright but deteriorated throughout the evening. We were one of three parties at the place, but continually did not get any service. Im writting this while my husband stands at the bar and tries to get the bill… we ordered the briscuit nachos– they were out of briscuit… chcicken nachos came– hot plate with cold chips, I don’t even know how that happens, but it did, the cheese was cold too. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night(saturday), but I can’t say I will try them again.

I hit up this spot for karaōke Friday night with some friends. We’re out of towners so we googled«Karaōke Bars» and found this place. The bartenders were really nice and on point. The karaōke dj, not so much. It seems if you’re not a regular here you only get to sing once. Rotation was horrible! We came in between 10 – 10:30 and signed up to sing as soon as we arrived. KJ didn’t seem too excited about being there, if it weren’t for him I’d give this place 5 stars. Service behind the bar deserves 5, KJ deserves 1. Other than that the crowd was fun and diverse.

Friendly bartenders, cheap awesome special drinks pretty much every night, and also karaōke!!! Just those 3 things alone are enough to win over my heart when it comes to any bar! It puzzles me that this place doesn’t have higher rating. They have decent amount of seating both inside and on the patio. Also, free valet parking! What more can you ask for? Well, technically no valet is ever free. Just out of good manner and courtesy, we all know we need to tip them right? Other bars are not that far away from this place, so if you’re in the mood to bar hop, this would work out perfectly!

One bar tender was racist/sexist/rude. Not indicative of the establishment as a whole.

Always a good time at the rose. You really never know what kind of crowd to expect. Its the type of divebar that you can come in dressed in a shirt and tie or your pajamas and you’ll fit right in either way. The drinks are reasonably priced and generously poured. Its a neighborhood bar so you will catch your fair share of regulars and the bartenders are always welcoming and friendly. COMPVALET Karaōke is wednesday, friday, saturday and sunday night. Heads up, Wednesday nights is PACKED with 99% SMU students. Friday and Saturday, like i said, is a good free for all mix of a crowd.

We had a great time at this bar! I imagined a «dream drink» and Nolan brought it to life, was perfect. Karaōke was so much fun. Its a great place to relax any day of the week in a casual, friendly ambient.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the special of the day which was their club sandwich with homemade chips for about 7 dollars. Service was great and so was lunch. Would definitely come back

The San Francisco Rose has a uniquely terrible aroma of vomit(and definitely one of the worse variations that I’ve smelt). The chairs are in desperate need of recovering and I’ve only had terrible service. One time we left after an hour of no beers arriving after our order(and having reminded the waitress). The people at karaōke are too drunk to perform well. If you want a dive… well, it’s certainly that.

It was cold outside. I walked in. I walked right to the beer taps and waited. There were two employees behind the beer taps, looking at me. A reasonable person might think one of them might acknowledge me. Neither did. I waited until it was silly, and then I left. But that was OK, because it was nothing but awful karaōke — the same as every time I’ve been to this place. Just shitty karaōke. Do you like shitty service and shitty karaōke? Then this is the place for you.

We stopped here this weekend on Saturday night. My friend was celebrating his 30th birthday party and wanted to stop here for karaōke. This is a great spot located on lower Greenville right next to St. Martin’s Wine Bistro. There is parking right out front and residential parking. But we took advantage of the complimentary valet. The man was super sweet and personable. We enjoyed the atmosphere. For a Saturday night, this place was pretty slow, but allowed us to participate in karaōke and enjoy each other’s company without be suffocated with people. They have a huge Jenga board and lots of tv’s too. Not quite a dive bar, but definitely unique.

Happy hour 3 – 6. Calvin is one of the managers and knows what’s he’s doing! This place has great brunch on Sunday, 2 $ mimosas, $ 3 screw drivers, $ 5 bloody Mary’s, $ 15 buckets of domestics. Sun, Mon, and Wednesday = $ 3 fireball $ 4 Jameson specials. This place has a great selection of TVs so it’s easy to see any game you want and the coolest thing is that if they aren’t playing your game they will change one in a heartbeat and if you’re sweet they’ll set up the projector for you to see you game on the

These guys are awesome. We’ve been here for brunch and it was really tasty. Had the biscuits and gravy and the eggs Benedict. Bottomless mimosas!!! They have new management and it’s amazing. Very personable. Treats you like your family. Shared their new lunch specials with us. Apparently $ 6 lunches every weekday. And they look incredibly delicious. Wednesday is the Golden Gate Reuben and it looks so tasty. I’ll be back here tomorrow for it. And do yourself a favor and say hi to Ben at the bar. He’s a cutie, really funny, and always keeps your glass full. Perfect.

Checked this place out for karaōke on a Saturday night. Don’t go unless you’re a regular and the karaōke is just an afterthought. KJ seems to be overwhelmed with the demands of this highly complex and technical job. Called ahead to confirm. Told it was starting at 9. Arrived at 9:05, and was then told it «officially» starts at 10. KJ had his stuff set up by 9:45 but played club music until 10:30 despite at least 10 singers signing up. Then he would play a song, sometimes 2, in between every singer, even though there were over 18 in the rotation. Approached his desk twice, first to ask about song search options(he has only books), second to ask how many people were in the rotation, and he didn’t seem to have the mental capacity to give a coherent answer, or he was just too busy figuring out how to run karaōke night. Seating is uncomfortable. One booth with padded seats. The rest are hard chairs. Small pizza for $ 13 which is from frozen pre-made crust. Overall, probably a good watering hole for regulars, but don’t go more than 10 minutes out of your way to sing, drink, or eat here. At least it was non-smoking.

Came to sing. Was not disappointed. It started a little late for me, so I could not stay, but I will try it again when in town. Valet parking was a plus!
