I am very very disappointed with the managers behavior. I didn’t get her name but I am regular costumer at that restaurant and I don’t really go in the afternoon but this time I went because I was craving their quesadillas. She does not have any manners what so ever, I work in a restaurant as well and trust me talking about customers the way she talked about me is not a way to welcome a customer, plus instead of handing me a menu she was on her cellphone while the other two ladies were busy one on the cash register and the other one talking an order on the phone. I know she’s the manager but the customer is always first if you want to keep customers. It was clear that she didn’t care. I was very offended of what she said about me and that was the last time I will go to that place. I don’t recommend you guys to go in the afternoon specially if that lady is working. However the staff in the morning is very welcoming and very kind. The supervisor needs to make some changes if he does not want to keep on loosing customers.

Service is terrible, there are so many better places such as Tizoncito, Atorron and Hechizera that actually smile when they take your order. And all those three are within driving distance! Food wise the Tortas are now sloppy and soggy. Quesadillas are okay but not as good as Atorron. Trust me you’ll be thankful you found those other spots!

Best Authentic Mexican Restaurant! My husband and I moved from Cali to Texas and every«Authentic Mexican Restaurant» turns out to be «TexMex» There is nothing like the real deal! & Tortilleria Insurgentes is the #1 spot

My friends and I love this place. The food is always excellent and I’ve never had a bad experience here. I highly recommend the tacos al pastor and the chilaquiles.

This has been my favorite authentic Mexican spot I’ve found in Dallas. Ok, so the menu is only in Spanish, but it’s online so thank you Google Translate. I’ve had the Chorizo, beef and cheese Alambres and the Pastor Quesadilla both were excellent. The horchata is to very addictive! Quick take out service and friendly staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Quesadillas and tacos, Mexico City style. Don’t expect a fancy place. Expect great flavor, spicy hot salsas and great service. We come once every two weeks. I normally get the Chicharrón Prensado Quesadilla, another with Steak. And a Suadero Taco. You can’t go wrong with these.

Really, are you kidding me? This is THE place in this city for Mexico City style snack food street food. Best I have ever had and can not believe it has taken me so long to go here. It’s super casual and even a little rustic but the food is the real deal. Do not go expecting enchiladas or getting a bowl of chips and hot sauce. They don’t even know about that here. Instead order a huarches de masa — a thick blue corn open face taco contraption that has meat, beans lettuce and white cheese. All home made and the blue masa tastes like pure heaven. The gorditas are made from house made white corn masa and folded with wonderful ingredients. Tons of tacos and tortas to pick from. You got to check this place out. you will be so happy you did.

I was craving real, authentic tacos and I’d driven by this place a few times and I figured why not. I’m glad I did too. You wouldn’t know it from looking at the outside but their tacos were really delicious(then again isn’t that how most hole in the wall places tend to be?). The place was small but very clean. I got 2 bistec tacos, one de lengua y otro al pastor. I was not disappointed. They were some of the most flavourful tacos I’ve had in a while. Toped it off with an horchata and I was good to go. They have a pretty good variety on their menu so there is definitely something for everyone. And the best part? It was cheap. I’ll definitely be coming back. Mmmmmm… Tacos!

I came for the tortas. I was relatively disappointed. Do I regret coming here? No. But the torta was prepared sloppily; the bread was soggy. And for the quality of the food, the preparation/presentation, and ingredients, it definitely is NOT worth $ 6.50! I’ve had tortas that cost $ 3.50 that were twice as good and even larger! There was no lettuce even though they said there would be. But there *was* a lot of tiny, tiny pieces of meat that fell everywhere. Not much tomato; however, on the plus side, there was a sufficient amount of avocado. It completely missed that«flavor» that I’ve always gotten from other traditional restaurants that serve tortas the way Mexico intended. I doubt I will return here again, even if I’m truly desperate for a torta… if that’s even a thing.

I’ve never had an Alambre before, but it’s pretty tasty! I got the traditional one and it was savory steak goodness with cheese. Got the blue corn Huarache and that was solid as well. Got a mix of tacos and each one was very good. Tripas was my favorite. I’m a fan.

This $#¡7 is the real deal. When I get off the plane in Mexico City my family doesn’t drive me home. They drive me to a taco joint; Hornillos, to be specific. Insurgentes will do better than be there in a pinch for me. This could stand as a solid taco offering in my neighborhood. Delegación Benito Juárez is known for three things: 1) It has high equality of income, thoroughly middle class, 2) it’s situated nicely between two nightlife hoity toity neighborhoods, which is nice and now more frequently populated by models, 3) and it has the best tacos in the city as surveyed yet after year and testified to by various newspapers and magazines. The point here is that Insurgentes could fit right in. Get an Alambre. Taco plates are the filling and you get an order of tortillas. Do not separate the tortillas. They are meant to stick together in pairs. The green salsa is spicy for me, and that says a decent amount right there. Both salsas pack great flavor either way. Be prepared to be the only white person there. Be prepared to hear a lot of Spanish from people that can speak English. It was weird speaking English there but I did it. If you aren’t comfortable in those situations, then don’t go, but you’re missing out. The horchata is fair. Get it. You can’t eat tacos without horchata or aguas frescas. Go down Greenville, it’s basically a little East of Greenville catty corner from Taco Cabana. It’s by a school. The parking lot is small.

Want some good food cooked consistently well for a very fair price? GOHERE! We put in large orders at work, or I go solo or with my girl. We are treated well, full and happy after eating. My 4 stars comes from the fact, sometimes the girls don’t get my order right. My Spanish stinks so I typically talk in English. Even if my order is messed up a bit, I still eat it because they cook good food! A mistake can turn into a good menu find! I totally feel welcomed here every time I step in the door, you will get the same treatment. P. S. the owners also own Top Fighter boxing gym here in Dallas and sponsor local MMA fighters. Edwin Figuero was in the UFC a few times with a Insurgentes logo on his trunks. I dig the La Cubana Torta and their tacos are always fantastico! I love to add avocado to mine.

Great real Mexican food for good price. It’s very authentic and the taste is so much better than other real Mexican places. I love their quesadillas.

Tropicale music on the box, and the ubiquitous soccer game on the tube. Nice little place a little north and west of the Five Points intersection. Now you know what a swell neighborhood it is. Menu is not extensive and does not have many plates, but is mostly gorditas, tortas, tacos, etc. The gorditas are $ 3, big, and are assembled in masa tortillas that exude cornyness. One will do you for lunch. The Cuban sandwich($ 8), on delicious bread, is a monster that you can split with someone. Wash your meal down with a Fanta orange and be happy.

Rise up and grab a torta! I used to think you couldn’t find a good authentic Mexican restaurant north of I-30, but I have been corrected. All I had to do is get off the beaten path. Usually in order to get a good Torta I would have to travel to La Hechizera, but now I have a new favorite closer to work! Torteria Insurgentes get’s it’s name from the longest Street in Mexico City«Insurgentes» or insurgents, named after the army who fought the Spanish for Mexico’s independence. It’s not a taqueria, although they do serve tacos, it’s a Torterilla. A torterilla, not to be confused with tortilleria(where they make tortillas), is where they make tortas; which is the Mexican equivalent of a submarine sandwich. Although similar in style, this is no sub. First the bread it’s made with is much bigger, closer to an overgrown hamburger bun. It’s toasted on a hot pan with some butter. Then they add mayonase and avacado, plus a smokey chipotle hot sauce that is more tangy spice than hot. Add your choice of meat to it. They have several combinations culminating with the Cubana which has just about everything but the kitchen sink. On this trip I got the Dallas, it comes with grilled chicken and fajitas. I absolutely loved it! Add a Mexican Coke, Sangria, or Fanta to wash it down. To the victors go the Tortas!

This is the best mexican authentic food i have had. They have tortas, sopes, redonditas(gorditas), aguas frescas, chilaquiles. They always have a daily special at this location. I recommend it a lot.
