living in E. Dallas, I’m somewhat of a taco snob. I think I’ve tried just about every little taco stand/gas station taco around. So when I got a flyer and coupon on my door for Trompo Loco, I had no choice but to give it a try, especially after reading a positive review on . I’ve tried the pastor, beef, and chicken tacos, as well mixed and matched ingredients in their«mixtas» and«piratas», which are made with large flour tortillas and add white cheese to the mix. I think the pastor and chicken were the real standouts. Pork was tender and seasoned just right. The chicken is a little spicier than what you normally find, and therefore much better than most authentic taco joints, where pollo is usually more of an afterthought. I almost never opt for a chicken taco, but I always get at least a couple of chicken items here. Overall, this place has a permanent spot in my ever-changing Top 5 taco places. I think I could eat a mixta(or 5) with chicken and pork every day for the rest of my life and be quite content, though I would probably have to mix in a veggie or 2 if I want the rest of my life to be more than a couple of years. Hopefully I’ll get here on one of the«free beer» weekends at some point.

Stopped by here for some tacos, quickly after helping my sister move all day. They were decent and 1.29! Trompo means something similar to gyro, but doesn’t taste like Greek. Had some chicken, pork, and steak(trompo) and they were all great! Also super authentic Mexican snacks, drinks, etc. free beer every other weekend bc they can’t sell it: too close to the elementary. Will def be back! Heard the Mexican burger was really good: trompo, avocado, beef, mozzarella and cheddar… Interesting.
