We found this lil place while walking around downtown and didn’tknow what to expect when we walked in. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. If you can find this lil joint then definitely give it a try!

Food is good, or at least the yellow curry is. The food comes out quick which is nice for lunches. The Tuk Tuk won’t cost you a fortune for lunch but the portions are smaller too. The prices are probably appropriate for the amount of food you’re supposed to eat. Fairly busy at lunch but at 7p the place is empty.

Menu selection was miniscule. Portions are ridiculously small. Service is despicable. Plastic Utensils when DINING in. I will NEVER return to this terrible place

I was wondering around downtown trying to figure out where to eat. Luckily I had my handy dandy Unilocal App to assist in the decision. Tuk Tuk came up as an option close by and I decided to give it a try. What a good decision that was! I had the steamed pot stickers, red curry chicken, wonton soup, and an egg roll. So I splurged a little, oh well. The food was great! Everything I ordered was tasty and packed full of flavor. I ordered the red curry spicy and was a little let down with the heat but it was so tasty that I ate it all up before the extra hot sauce ever showed up. The service was great as well, the little lady was slammed but made sure I had everything I needed and that my drink was always full. Tuk Tuk is a small place and fills up in a hurry so if you’re going for lunch make sure you get there early. Definitely a must visit again!

**** ROACHALERT **** On 1÷26÷2012− 5 of me and my co-workers went here for lunch– usually this place is packed for lunch– this day it was dead– I know why– they served the lunch and a ROACH was in one persons food… no lie. Will never be back, called the Health Department and reported them– the place smelled bad as well!

I love their location. It’s kind of convenient for us working downtown. However, their food was not that great compare to other Thai restaurants. I had Pad Thai and it was kind of bland. Since it’s open kitchen. The restaurant could be very noisy. We have to shout at each other when I was there with other friends. Not sure whether I will go back.

I worked right across the street from Tuk Tuk. It is my favorite carry-out lunch above the Tunnel by far. The service is always warm and friendly. It’s a small restaurant, and it’s kinda hidden, and if you are eating in, it can take a while for your food, especially during the lunch rush, so I do recommend calling in your order for pick-up, or having it delivered. I loved the pad thai, but I tended to order the red curry. It wasn’t the best Thai I’ve ever had, but it was still delicious and hit the spot.

Not the greatest, but still pretty darned good. Nothing very memorable about it, but wasn’t bad food.

This place was perfect. Just as an early heads up it is BYOB, but my it’s yummy. It sits in this little walking alley in downtown Dallas, and if it hadn’t been 100 degrees out still that fine evening I would have sat out on the sweet little tables they had there. I went in with my Shine Bock bottle and sat and order the spring rolls, thom yum soup, and chicken pad thai. The server was very nice and got me a cold glass for the beer and water as well. The spring roll was just fab! It came out very quickly, it was large and the ingredients were clearly very fresh and hand made. The soup was spiced so well and was really really good. I’d never had it before and normally don’t eat mushrooms but I’m glad I got it. The pad thai was was perfect portion and was cooked very well. It was flavorful. Great little place. Sweet atmosphere. Try it out!

I love my little ‘tucked’ away, Tuk Tuk. I would like to think the name reflects the tiny, hard to find restaurant but something tells because it is an Asian restaurant the name hasn’t nothing to do with the location. I work across the street from Tuk Tuk and eat here quite frequently. They are always so welcoming and greet you with a smile. Maybe, because I am regular they smile at me more but I would think they would be annoyed with me more and be more excited to see a new person walk into their joint. With that said, next time you are downtown try Tuk Tuk. I like to order their pad thai, which is delicious. Their spring rolls are yummy and packed with shrimp and all the necessary spring roll ingredients. Just the other day I tried the Peanut Chicken Splash. It was good and they definitely do not cheat you on the chicken, rice and veggies, but if you like a little spice like I do make sure you order a side of their spicy sauce. They don’t deliver, but is definitely a fast eating spot for the business people on the go. Perk! If you work near by and are a constant customer they will bring it to you.

For some reason I continue to order the pad thai there and after numerous attempts they never seem to get it spicy enough. The noodles are consistently rubbery and overall it’s lackluster. Portion size is good and their crab/cheese won tons are fantastic. I’ve sampled a few other dishes and they continue the mediocre trend. Prices are a bit high and hours less compared to Zenna which recently opened in downtown.

I couldn’t drive to Bangkok City so this hit the spot if you’re really craving Thai in downtown Dallas. Today, I tried the spicy basil noodles with tofu. This had the same problem their spicy basil fried rice does– it’s too greasy. For some reason, the noodles all stuck together too. The flavor is good and I definitely was crying with the sliced jalapenos. Bangkok City is better in the downtown area but you have to drive it and I didn’t have time for that today. And, if you’re ever up in Richardson, then Sawadika is my standard there.

I had lunch here w/a couple of colleagues on Tuesday. Tuk Tuk Dumpling: 4⁄5 — It was pretty typical. Hot & Sour Soup: 4⁄5 Tuk-Tuk Pad Thai w/Shrimp: 3⁄5 — The sauce was atypically sweet & the rice noodles too hard. Service: 2⁄5 — The service was standard Asian-style limited service. Ambience: 1.5÷5 — The restaurant was small & cluttered

A colleague and I went to Tuk Tuk and ordered take out for lunch. Therefore, i can only comment on the to go service. They offered us a table to sit down at while we waited. This was nice because it was small and starting to become very busy with the downtown Dallas lunch crowd. I ordered their chicken Pad Thai extra spicy. My girlfriend had their green chicken curry. The pad thai was just ok. They did not garnish with fresh sprouts and barely put any chopped peanuts in the dish. The noodles were also a bit mushy. If they fixed these issues, it could be a great dish because the chicken was moist and the flavor was good. They totally kicked up the spice for me as requested. I just cannot deal with mushy pad thai noodles. I did not try my colleagues dish, but she said she liked it. We both agreed it hit the spot for quick thai food by the office, but will try somewhere else next time. PS: whatever the stinch is down the alley is HORRIBLE so plug your nose as you approach Tuk Tuk or else you will lose your appetite very quickly!

The alley is a bit aromatic, but the stink didn’t breach the doorway of Tuk Tuk. This place totally reminds me of the little hole in the wall joints down in the French Quarter(including the smell of the alley). Service was incredibly quick and spot on. My thai tea was tasty. The complementary hot & sour soup was a nice surpise and quite tasty. Why three stars? The pad thai was kinda meh. Too sweet with no kick. The sauce was really mealy too. I asked for extra spicy and it wasn’t hot at all. I liberally doused it with their cock sauce(TWSS) which ALSO had no kick to it. I ain’t mad at ‘em, though. I’ll be back to try the curry fried rice, one of my favs.

Sorry, but the place smells like garbage inside. Perhaps it was the pile of garbage down the alley that made it smell? Who knows. Maybe that’s why there wasn’t anyone else eating in the restaurant today. The green curry was very liquidy, and didn’t have substance… the flavor barely stuck to the rice. Meanwhile, the waitress is on her laptop surfing the web at the table right behind us. Great ambience/view to look at lol. Not very impressive… I guess I’m spoiled in california. I had pad-thai take out last time, and that was decent. Don’t think I’ll be eating in for awhile though…

Not a bad option if you live or work downtown. The service is spotty, but polite. Delivery orders can take over an hour to arrive. The food is above average as far as downtown goes. I especially like the spring rolls and the spicy basil chicken. The restaurant space is tiny and, in the summer especially, has that downtown sewer smell. They cover it with candles, which is sort of unappetizing. I recommend walking down and taking your food to go or eating on the patio. If I hadn’t seen more than the occasional roach at this place, I’d throw in an extra star.

My friends S&M(no, I’m not making this up), live around the corner from TukTuk, so while visiting with them for the evening last night… we walked over here for dinner. Yeah, I know… I said WALKED. Yeah, me! We started out with the Crab Cream Cheese Wontons and the Vegetarian Crispy Rolls. I also ordered a Mango Tea which was probably the best«fruit-flavored» iced teas(not bubble)… that I’ve had anywhere. I know the server ended up refilling my glass at least 4 times. The Crab Cream Cheese Wontons had a great flavor. They were half-moon shaped and cooked to where the cream cheese had a perfect melted consistency. Dunked in the Sweet n Sour sauce, um, YUM! The Vegetarian Crispy Rolls, although not as good as the Wontons were very good and very fresh. I think I could have made a meal on both the appetizers alone. I had to chuckle as we sat down the server looked at M started writing down his order of the Beef Bulgogi with extra Kim Chi. S suggested that he give us a minute as it was my first time and needed to look over the menu. S ordered the Chicken Peanut Splash. It looked very good and there was more than enough food there for leftovers(possibly 1 or 2 more meals). They had Red or Green Curry with noodles with the choice of meat, but I wanted Rice so I ordered the Shrimp Red Curry and changed the meat to chicken. I ate every bite! Loved it. I’m a curry-aholic anyway, and my common dinner companions are not fans. When we left I was full and decided it was probably a good thing we had walked since S&M were wanting to hit up a bar later. I had to get in a little exercise so that there would be room for a drink.
