We worked with this rescue group to add another fur baby to our home over the summer. They are such a great organization and I couldn’t be happier about our adoption process. Their website and information is very easy to navigate. Their crew that helps you through the adoption process is extremely assertive and quick to to answer any and all of your questions. They took the time to really fit us with the right dog by putting us through a rigorous adoption process, including three references, a home inspection, a home visit with the dog, and an overnight visit for the dog the placed us with. I sort of felt bad asking my references to fill out the tedious paperwork, but I was glad that the organization wouldn’t let just their animals go to just any home. Within less than an hour of my paperwork being turned in I had someone emailing me, telling me that they would begin hunting through their many foster families to find us a fit. Surprisingly someone called us THAT evening, just a few hours later and asked if they could come visit in the next hour! Paula Cooper, was super friendly on the phone and said she had someone she’d like our family to meet quickly, because they were afraid she’d get scooped up by another adopter! Paula and her husband brought«Eliza», now our«Pumpkin» for a visit as they inspected our home and our yard. Because we had passed inspection(three cheers for US) and neither of my children behaved like wild banchees(one more cheer!) during their visit, they asked if we would like Pumpkin to stay while they went to dinner to see how she got along with our other dog. Pumpkin never left our house! Paula came back with paperwork the next day, and we had our new fur baby! Shih Tzu of Dallas charges a $ 200 donation that is tax deductible. Some of the foster moms are so great they will even pup-sit for you while you are out of town. This group is lovely and is really doing wonderful things for all of those lost and forgotten shih tzu babies. We will go to them the next time we add another dog to our family!
