Unlike everybody else, I didn’t have a problem with the service! My problem is the food! Service was actually pretty good… They seated us right away, got us our drinks, took our orders and periodically checked on us and then we tabbed out. Now the food on the other hand… Let’s just say I probably won’t be coming back We ordered the Jap Chae app, kimchijigae soup and the LA Galbi. Jap Chae was too salty with not enough noodles, the kimchijigae soup was pretty bland and the LA Galbi was eh… It came in thick pieces making it really chewy and hard to pull apart/bite into. Even the side dishes I wasn’t impressed with and how do you mess up on the side dishes? Very small portions but even w the small portions of the side dishes we didn’t eat half of it Bc it wasn’t that good. Normally we tear it up and ask for extra! They also don’t offer complimentary hot tea like I’ve seen at many other Korean restaurants. The teas here are $ 2.50. I ordered jasmine hot tea and it was lacking a lot the jasmine leaves/flavor. It was basically just hot water. Overall, our bill was about $ 55 without tip and I left with a stomach ache. The 3 stars only derives from the good service I didn’t expect

The food is not good enough to offset the rude poor service specially at their pieces!

Loved this Korean spot ! The prices were moderate & the service was superb ! Some friends & I came here because the wait was so long at Boiling crab. We walked in & were immediately seated. The menu was explained to us. There was pictures on the wall of the entrees. That was major help for our indecisive group ! Still craving seafood I chose shrimp fried rice. I wanted something to coat my stomach before a night on the town. Some of the other group chose Korean bbq & stir fry. I was very pleased with my choice. I would def recommend other to try this place ! You won’t be disappointed.

I am a usual at this place and the only reason I am giving this place three stars is because the food is generally good. The only problem is the staff, the sister’s owner, Lee I believe is her name is the most rude person I’ve encountered. She constantly rolls her eyes at me and looks like she couldn’t be bothered. I hate to say it but it seems as if the staff is only attentive and courteous to their own race.

Well it was our first time here and it sucked. I’m surprised this place is still open. Our waitress didn’t explain very much about their food or how things work here. She also didn’t seem very friendly. We weren’t asked how many people were in our group or where we would like to sit, but sure enough a group of Asians come in and they’re asked how they’re doing, how many people, and asked where they would like to sit. Ingredients aren’t very fresh nor do they have much flavor going on. This is the d or b1. Egg isn’t cooked all the way, which I guess is the way they do things. I couldn’t substitute the spicy sauce for teriyaki for some reason. The vegetables tasted like they’ve been sitting in the back of the fridge for a while and they just wanted to get rid of them instead of throwing them in the trash. Not going to try this place out again. Wanted the waitress to take it away and she started mixing the ingredients together and added a whole bunch of sauce and insisted I try it. I did. It still sucked balls. Then she made my husband try it and he didn’t like it either. He ordered a seafood soup which was extremely spicy and of course not a lot of flavor going on. She wanted me to take it home and pan fry it and said it would taste better. I told her I’m not taking it home, and she still left it at my table. They are still going to charge me for it even though I didn’t eat it and told her to take it away. Another group managed to get an item taken off of their bill, but not us? Thanks for the terrible service and terrible food.

When I searched this amazing Korean restaurant up and saw only three stars, I was so surprised but not in the good way. I am a regular at Woo Mee Oak, and I have to say that their food seems authentic and tastes very, very delicious. I know some of y’all might be thinking, «Oh, she is a regular customer, so of course she has to be positive about everything.» Well let me just say that it wasn’t always that way. To the reviews addressing the women’s service and attitude, I have to admit that it was awful. However the key word in that sentence was«was.» I used to eat at Woo Mee Oak occasionally, perhaps once or twice every couple months, due to the horrible manners, but I figured that the food was worth it to me. Every time I came back, I noticed that the hospitality had improved, especially after one woman with a strange, large, fake bob was fired! When I heard that, I was relieved because she was absolutely awful, not just to me but to almost every table around mine! Since then, I ate here more often, ordering one of my three favorite dishes on their menu, and enjoyed the Korean environment. To people who strongly disliked their lack of courtesy, I believe that it has changed drastically compared to what it was like back then. The food is very addictive and appetizing. I definitely recommend this place with a full 5-star rave!

So unfair to be a three star! This is one of the most authentic and exquisite Korean dishes in town! A little pricy but totally worth it!

This was our second visit to Woo Mee Oak. We visited a month or so ago and the food is still great! Glad to know the first trip wasn’t a fluke. Pros: The food is authentic and yummy! I love walking into a Korean restaurant to find actual Korean people enjoying the food. Upon opening the door you are greeted with the smells of goodness. Keep your eyes open as there is lots to see. Literally! Their walls are adorned with pictures of the different types of dishes they serve. Cons: Good customer service is not their forte. It’s a seat your self type of establishment! And don’t expect refills without flagging someone down. I’m not sure if it’s a cultural difference or what but YOUHAVEBEENWARNED. A co-worker joined us for lunch today and she was treated rudely by one of the waitresses. I will eat here again! The food is good enough that I’m not concerned about the service. They are who they are!

$ 8 for a delicious bulgogi box. My companion got the tofu soup. I haven’t had good korean food in DFW for a while. I’ve been everywhere(carollton, plano). I am so excited to find this place. New fav lunch spot. Prices all range $ 8 – 10 for lunch menu. The servers were lovely and the place is clean. The side dishes are amazing! It is in a shady part of Garland but I’ll make the drive for good food. I def recommend this place

Food is great. Service is quick tho may be a little weird. I’m guessing it’s because their culture, that elder people are encouraged not to treat younger people with proper respect.

Worst restaurant ever. We had a seafood soup and some fish for dinner. I woke up in the middle of night with a horrible stomach ache which is pretty unusual for me. Both had diarrhea the next day. Don’t even mention the 18%tip included on the stub. NOTWORTHIT!

Lol alot of people are complaining about bad service, needless to say there’s alot of language barrier but the food is great and even though I’ve asked for some lettuce 4x and got it 30 min later the food is still amazing. I’ll be going back to eat some more authentic korean dishes

BADSERVICE ever!!! Another customer asked soy sauce for her fried rice takeout and the cranky older lady told her that the food doesn’t come with soy sauce and won’t give it to the customer. What the heck??? The soy sauce is on every table! Food is expensive and takes too long to serve.

This place is ok! Basic Korean foods and has this old rustic vibe to it! I love anything old or hole in the wall looming! Plus there’s photos on the walls in case the menu doesn’t suffice

The food here is solid! Headed out on a Friday night(two white guys on the town) planning to hit up Kirin Court only to find it was closed for a private event. Where to go now? Decision: troll Walnut Street with no idea on where to stop. Driving west on Walnut from Plano Road, we spotted«BBQ» and some Korean writing and said«hit it.» The place was practically empty at 8pm on a Friday night. Two other tables of «natives». We had no idea what to do, of course, and there was just one lady standing at a counter where it looked like you walk up to order. After some confusing exchange, she realized we weren’t there for take out and waved us over to a table. Dummies. Later some more parties came in and just sat down. ANYWAY, we wanted not-boring. The menu has a couple pages of lunch stuff, then a couple pages for dinner – all packed with a lot of options. We immediately spotted a tripe dish and that appealed to us. When the lady came to take our order, she spoke English fine. Don’t know why it was so confusing in the beginning. Anyway, she turned out to be really friendly, as opposed to the other reviewers here having a lesser experience with wait staff. We asked her about some raw beef to which she acted like we wouldn’t like it. Said only Korean like that. We wanted it, but went her route instead and chose some sampler she said was popular(with white people, probably). Anyway, immediately out came all the little dishes full of the usual various items like kimchee, bean sprouts, bok choy, tofu, pickled cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. They were all tasty and we scarfed them down because we were starving. Two Ichibans later and out came a magnificent iron plate brimming with red/orange tubes of intestines with some kind of sauce and sautéed vegetables with it. Also the sampler. Tripe? Excellent! Very creamy, delicious taste(not«weird», for those of you thinking that). We gobbled it up completely. The sampler thing was excellent too – just a mélange of shrimp, some beef, one rib(tough), lots of good vegetables. We had a fantastic meal here and were stuffed on those two dishes plus the extras. The lady was really nice to us and we will absolutely come back here!

The food is ok. But the service is weird, kinda rude. They also charge 18% tips directly to our check even there were only 3 people. Not gonna come Back

This place is okay for Korean food. I got the seafood tofu soup and two other dishes that I’m not 100% sure of the names. One of them was the 2nd choice of bibimbap on the menu. It was pretty plain but they give you a bottle of hot sauce to eat it with. I don’t usually use hot sauce, but the bibimbap needed it. I also ordered some kind of seafood udon dish. It came on a stone plate. That was the best of the three dishes we had. The tofu soup was average. Two things that are good about this place– the prices are cheap! Three dishes that were more than enough for three people to eat came out to be a total of $ 40.02 excluding the tip. Another good thing about this place is that they have pictures of almost every single dish on their menu all around the restaurant. This leaves for no ambiguity in what you’re going to order if you’re not familiar with Korean cuisine. So why did I give this place three stars? There was black stuff in my cup of water and the food wasn’t impressive let alone that good… It was just okay. There’s plenty of parking available and the restaurant wasn’t crowded. There were only two other tables of diners on a Thursday night.
