I am from Memphis, TN so I hadn’t been in Texas for long. I went to the Zubar with a friend. This atmosphere was very different. It was intimidating at first because the lights are dim inside and I was surrounded by people I did not know. Which is common when you go out. Duh lol. But when I relaxed and had a few drinks from the bar which were $ 2 before midnight and $ 3 after, I was good to go. The drinks were good and strong. The music was on point. They played house music and today’s hip hop and r&b. I really enjoyed myself and if the rain stops, I plan on taking my twin brother for the first time. I would definitely recommend this place if you are on a budget, but still want to have a good time in an environment that is chill and drama-free. I would recommend you go at around 12am because that’s when everyone usually gets there. I went to other places in lower greenville so in general this is a good area to chill.

I just went last night-to check out a Friday night at Zubar(there’s different music on different nights). The atmosphere was chill(I like the seating across the wall), but it was kinda dead, which could be because I was at there at 11:30 which is still early. I might try it again though since they had pretty good music in both rooms.

Zubar is a cool, laid back spot we went to on a Friday night. Smaller bar and seating in the back playing old school 90’s R&B jamz! I didn’t particular like the bartender in the back, he was looking and acting as if that was the last place he wanted to be. I still tipped him cuz my drink was strong. The DJ was on point but you seriously have to like old school jamz to be in this area. Some of those hits went waaaaaaaaay back! Large bar in the front with much more seating playing today’s hip hop and rap. I cut a rug with my lil funky 2 step after I tired of the old school mix. Zubar is laid back with people dancing and trying to have a good time with some strong drinks! –end of story–

I recently hosted a(semi) private happy hour event at Zubar… and let me just say — the entire experience was easy and the event turned out fabulously! The management team and bartenders were extremely friendly and easy to work with. They even accommodated a special drink menu that I created specifically for my social and opened up early for us. The day of the event, they were prepared, everything was clean and organized, the music wasn’t too loud… just a great venue all together. We had a solid 40 people attend and everyone had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to host another event there, and most likely will! Thanks Zubar!

Fate brought me to Zubar one crazy Friday night after having a not so great experience somewhere else(it was Kush *cough* *cough*). I had no idea I would like this place by looking at the outside, but that’s because all of the good vibes were inside, being hogged by everyone who was having a good time. When I walked in people were dancing, smiling, drinking, or doing all of the above at the same time. I eventually joined them in having a good time. Even though the music up front wasn’t what I normally listen to, I dug it. In the back room they played groovy soul music. Throughout the night I liked to go back and forth between the two. I would dance with everyone else and like everyone else up front and then wander through the candle lit hall to the back room, which was a bit more private, and dance however stupidly my heart desired. They also had some nice trippy lighting going on it the back. The only drawback was the few touchy feely guys or creepy old guys you would find at any dance place. It was easy enough to get rid of them though. Just walk away or cover your ears and they’re gone. If they’re bothering your girlfriends just do several 360 degree turns in-between the two of them, accidentally hitting them with your purse, and they’re taking a hike

What a fun place to visit on a Saturday night. It wasn’t super crowded, but I think it’s because everyone one was in the front, which is an open area outside. Bartenders are nice and drinks were good and stiff! Prices were great! DJ spinning in the front room was great and very eclectic crowd. There was a back room and the DJ was good there, but I think they were having a party back there, so big group. Lots of seating. Not too much dancing, but fun place to lounge and drink!

LOVED the DJ in the back room on Saturday — it’s been a while since I’ve heard West Coast breaks on a big sound system and the breakers(dancers) were amazing to watch. Raving like it’s 1990 anyone? So much fun. Good vibes. And the assortment of fashion and characters made it an interesting night. Great space, good lighting and fast bartenders. It totally exceeded my expectations going out clubbing in Texas.

Great DJ last Friday.(2⁄17) My friend enjoyed her birthday very much. Our party of 7 danced for two hours. Drinks were reasonably priced. Ladies room could have been cleaner.

Went there last night after not going for a few years. The DJs in the back room were awesome! Excellent house music with an energetic crowd. Friendly bar staff and friendly people. There are two rooms and both have DJs, visuals, and a small dance area. Perfect for a night out with a group of friends.

Really nice amount of space to sit and lounge, and bartenders are cool. But it seems a little confusing. For instance, the two DJs last Saturday should’ve switched spots. They had some good music on both ends, but the techno could’ve been near the front bar while the more danceable stuff in the back. People were just standing, not dancing which sucked. As a result the bulk of people stayed outside at the front patio while the inside was dead, really weird scenario that I never saw before.

Can you spell E-M-P-T-Y? What’s wrong with bars in Dallas? This was my second time coming here and it was soooooo dammmmmmn empty that we just had one drink and left.

I went to the Zubar on Saturday and I have mixed feelings about this place. I would say better than 3 but not quite 4. Bartenders were very nice and interior decoration was very classy. And I found my favorite tequila thanks to the nice bartender. There were plenty of comfy seats if you wanted to take a break in between dancing. Unlike the ones I am used to, there was no clear distinction between the dance floor and the bar/DJ area. There was a lot of dancing in the backroom although the backroom dance area was rather small. People did not dance much in the front room, at least yesterday. I still cannot decide whether I am a big fan of divided rooms for a dance club. Some music the DJ played were very good, but some were not my favorites. But overall, they were good. I will definately go back though especially if a few I am with are not big dancers.

I don’t care what people say, I genuinely like this place. Everytime I’ve been here the music has been pretty good. Drinks aren’t cheap on Friday/Saturday nights, but the prices aren’t outrageous either. However, it’s hit or miss in terms of the crowd: sometimes packed, sometimes only a few small groups, sometimes diverse, sometimes douchey/trashy.

Bop shuffle twist and gyrate… Swung by here on Saturday night to get my groove on. Nice little place spilt into two halfs. The front half is more chillout. The dance floor is right by the front door so you seem to brushing past people coming in and out which is tad annoying. Great Bar but expensive I might add. As Hugh walked down the corridor into the back room I was faced with a lot of people getting their freak on The music was superb, started dancing had a great night to be honest. Another slight drawback is the restrooms very tiny and a little cramped but other than that a very good place.

I have been to Zubar multiple times over the years, and ended up there again last Saturday night. It’s always been on the expensive side, but last Saturday my bill was $ 76. For two people. We were there about 3 hours. Given I am a pirate and I tend to guzzle beer, however, in most of the fine subterranean establishments I frequent, I pay half as much for the same amount of booze. They do have some great DJs, but there is no dance floor. In the front room people dance anyway and create«roadblocks», or just get jostled so much they don’t dance for too long. The backroom is a little better for dancing and it is almost pitch black in there, so it’s perfect for the shadow-lurkers to get their molest on. Our bartender, Tiffany, was on the ball, and she has a habit of smelling the glass before pouring a drink into it. Funny girl. The Zubar clientele are an amusing bunch as well. Some girl put her chewed up gum in Sigurd’s mouth on her way up to the bar for a cranberry and vodka. He said it tasted like vanilla mint. While the music and bartenders at Zubar are good, I wouldn’t recommend it as a place to hunker down and drink booze. The drink prices are just too exorbitant. At least the a-b-c gum is free.

I finally found the perfect place for a glorious night out! Zubar is a guaranteed good time. With 2 djs, great drinks, attentive and nice bartenders, and cool art pieces, Zubar is a dream come true– especially if you’re a hip hop fan. The cool outdoor patio is another plus. Also, there’s plenty of seating and a cool mix of people. I am going to come here every weekend. LOVEIT!
