This place is bomb, I been goin here for the longest. Good people and nice place to come when your hungry. They have the best puff chicken wings with the sweet and sour sauce. I love this place

Came here after The Ching Ming Festival, had my usual favorites, prawns, fish, spinach and egg … surprised not more people come to this place.

been here many times for event but never eaten in the actual restaurant or their bar. reviewing this place because we ended up having our reception after my dad’s funeral. For a last minute reservation, they were very accommodating. The couple were very nice when we met up with them for reservations. Cheap and the menu is very basic… which was all we need. $ 100 deposit is very good too. On the day of reception, we ended up coming in a lot earlier than our actual reservation time. But the staff were nice enough to accommodate us. Kudos to the staff. Food was great, place was clean.

Had the salt and pepper pork chops. They were batteries in either corn starch or a light flour which kind of sucked because I’m try to stick to the low carb diet but when they touched my lips I couldn’t stop shoving them in my face. I managed not to eat them all but didn’t do a very good job. They were salty, sweet and delicious. I’ve got some push ups and crunches to do before bed now.

Definitely a family restaurant. Lily the owner for the past 40+ years is very personable and treated us like family. The pot stickers are a must, best around made in house. Very affordable and tasty.

This is the WORST food I’ve ever had to pay for at full price. I would normally complain but it’s a family establishment. Owner said she’s been there 42 years, it’s definitely time to retire and give this place up. War wonton soup was the only descent thing we ordered. Chicken chowmein looked gross and bland, kung pao chicken was in a very weird and gross sweet and sour sauce, DEFNOT kung pao! Gross gross gross! The icing on the cake was the disgusting ginger ale they tried to serve me on tap. Like they took 7-up and added ginger syrup. Disgusting all around. I’ve been to this place several times in the last 20 years and it’s hit rock bottom. This is no longer American Chinese food, this is now a very authentic Chinese style food that only those from the culture are more likely to enjoy. Can say what a waste of $ 60 and never again!

Restaurant in a very traditional Chinese setting. I was told the place has been operating for 40+ years. Décor is well preserved. Food is instantly made, hot and fresh(the key to Chinese food!). We ordered beef noodle soup, fried wonton and fried bun. All fresh and yummy. Taste is authentic Chinese/Shanghainese. I come from Asia and still feel satisfied with the quality of the food entirely. The tea served is a serious one, Jasmin tea in a hot pot. This is a place to come back for transition Chinese food.

That salt N pepper chicken wings everyone is talking about… I get mines with my sauce on the side. It’s the best. The crab Rangoon(if I’m spelling it right) is awsome too. Everything is full of flavor. And the soup of my choice is always the war wrong tong. And then I top it off with a couple cocktails in there bar…

Food was ok; place is too generally filthy to feel comfy. Also, when serving my food, the server put her thumb in the soup. Ick.

Great wonton soup. all of the other things are good, but the BBQ Pork Wonton soup is the best in this area. I have never eaten in this is my go too take out, when you call an order it is done relatively fast which is nice, but i never see people eating in the dinner so if you want to eat in i am sure it is fine since you will not have much of a wait!

Ordered fried wongtons and got this horrible shit. Fried wongton skins. I got a seven up only to be given tap 7 up which taste like water. Their volcano chicken was okay and nice spicey at all. The only saving grace was the mix seafood deluxe which was alright. Won’t be coming back here that’s for sure way better places in san francisco and pacifica. The chicken taste frozen. All shit is frozen here confirmed from owner…

I have been here every so often, so this review is well overdue. Today was unique, I went to the new chop stick place on mission, well nobody even looked at me or even offered a menu or even a look. So I left in a hurry, fusion of Chinese and Japanese food, makes me wonder. I ended up at Jade Dragon. This Place is solid. It has stood the place of time. This place has been here for more than 25 years. The only thing that has changed is the prices, But you get what you pay for. Delicious salt and pepper chops, Mongolian chicken can’t be beat. For the fried rice we had, it tasted really good. Not just run of the mill food but better tasting than most. Dining area is clean and bright. Gotta come more often to give it a 5 star rating. Thank you and I will be back. 15 minute togo order, fast and HOT!!! Large portions too.

Screw the service. Screw the location. Screw the ambiance. Screw the bar full of weird drunks next door. Even with all those cons this place is AWESOME. Yes I used all caps. First and foremost the prices are very cheap for the authentic, delicious food you’re getting. I’ve been here quite a few times and my friends and I’s biggest bill was just a little over $ 50 for about 7 huge plates of fried rice, chicken wings, calamari, duck, and many more. So much food for cheap. In terms of the food, again this restaurant delivers. The food is noticeably freshly cooked when it comes to your table, which is why it can take quite sometime to get to your table. You can smell the awesomeness in your nose and you can tell it’s good food from the first glance. Whenever I come here, I always get the salted fish fried rice, which for about $ 7 is totally worth it. It’s not too salty, just right for my taste buds. Another one of their hits is the puffed wings with chilli. The chicken is juicy and so flavorful. If you’re feeling ballsy, you can even try a jellyfish dish they have. Doesn’t taste much, but always good to try something new. They also have the Chinese staple dishes which can’t be beat. You can also call ahead of time and pick up the food. Sure, there are a lot of cons, but hey it’s all about the food in the end and Jade Dragon delivers in my opinion. 5 stars all the way.

I have been dining here for many years and have always enjoyed the food, but about when I discovered the Shanghai Menu, it is my place for bringing out of town guests, friends, and just me when I want wonderful food. When I first started ordering from this menu, it was only in Chinese. Now, much of it is in English. NOTE: You will have to ask for the Shanghai Menu. Do it, you will not regret your request. The Lion Head Meatballs are something to behold and even better in the stomach. Oh, they are so full of flavor and juices and yumminess. I was dining one day and the table next to us had the Lion Head, I asked the waiter what the dish was and the lady at the table heard me. She invited me to have some. One bite and I was in love. This is a favor from a stranger which I have had the pleasure of passing forward. The Lions Head meatballs are served in with beautifully cooked bok choy and an excellent full flavored sauce. I order the Lion Head Meatballs even before I am seated. They take a little bit to prepare and are well worth the time! The«Vegetarian Q Tofu» is the best tofu dish I have eaten, and I love tofu. Lily, the owner, brings the tofu for this dish in from China. It is served with a variety of mushroom/fungi, veggies, and a marvelous sauce. I order extra of this dish so that I can take it home where I do not even have to reheat it. It is wonderful hot or cold. The Jelly Fish with Scallion is a dish I enjoy. It has a good flavor and texture. My friends always want the Sauteed Prawns, Shanghai Style. They are small but full of flavor. The sauce enhances the flavor and texture of these delicate shellfish. We love the hot spicy bites of the Firecracker Chicken. It fills your mouth with flavor, not just hotness. I love Chinese desserts and the Jade Dragon makes my favorite. The Sweet Dumplings in Wine Sauce is so light and full of goodness. This is a hot soup-type dessert. It is the perfect ending for a wonderful meal. I could write paragraphs about each menu item, but you should try them for yourself. I have dined in some of the finest Chinese restaurants in San Francisco and the Orient. The wonderful flavors keep me coming back to the Jade Dragon year after year.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. I never thought to step into this place until a friend raved about the salt and pepper chicken wings. Very solid Cantonese style restaurant. Friendly service, there’s a parking lot, and no line/long wait. You can tell this place has stood the test of time and has many loyal patrons. For the price and cleanliness you can’t beat it.

Hidden gem! It’s a very inconspicuous place with very Chinese décor, and the food is pretty awesome. I was very pleasantly surprised. Being that I’m of Shanghainese/northern Chinese decent, the dishes here remind me of the food I grew up with. Some reviewers say it’s Americanized Chinese food, I say it depends on what you order. If you know what traditional dishes to pick, you’ll have a very different experience. Sautéed rice cakes are magnificent, the rice cakes are al dente(very hard to do) and don’t stick together. The flavor is very tasty but not overly seasoned The magnificent Lion’s head meatball can feed your whole family for days bc it’s so big. Theses are all traditional dishes made very authentically. I’ve been there a few times and it hasn’t failed me yet.

My mom is extremely picky about her Chinese food, and by picky, I mean, she can have absolutely no variation in flavor, color, texture etc on her«stand bys»… so she is hard to please, yet she always wants to get Chinese food in new cities! So we are exploring the area and cruising El Camino Real for some Chinese, we end up in Coma and Daly City area… we check out one Chinese place… dirty, so we head here. From the outside, its in a little strip mall, but looks like a newer one. The inside, was also surprisingly clean. Now we look first at the soy sauce holders. They have different ones here, with a little square grated spout… really comes out fast, so beware! But at least it was clean, the tables aren’t sticky. There looked like some people went to the bar/lounge side, but otherwise we were the only ones in here at around 2 or 3 pm. We ordered the Cantonese dinner, I believe it was around $ 11 per person. The waitress actually smiles and is friendly!(sorry, but often they can be kind of scary and mean) We got the wonton soup, broccoli beef, the sweet and sour pork, substituted pork fried rice and fried prawns. The hot tea also is loose leaf! We found that cool. And luckily I didn’t see the picture of the bug in the tea, before we came here, but I did double check the teapot just in case as I was a bit surprised when I looked down haha. The wonton soup, though no veggies with it, the broth was flavorful, and hardly any soy was needed on my part. The wontons were good, and I am not really a wonton fan. The broccoli beef, though I didn’t think looked that appetizing, was a hit. The beef was cooked through(we’ve had a bit of a problem with that while down here) and surprise! so was the broccoli! The fried rice, also didn’t look super fried, but again, surprised us by having a great fried flavor. Basically everything was pretty good. The fried prawsn were different in that they were wrapped in wonton wrapper. I thought they were a bit mushy, but I think it was just extra wonton wrapper. I would be okay not having those again. It was satisfying for me, and my mom seemed the most happy out of any other place we’ve tried while here(look at my reviews, we’ve tried a few), so that makes it 4 stars! It also seemed very clean, and the service was friendly. We would be back if we lived in the area, and possibly might come back even before we leave.
