Based on a couple of the reviews, I almost didn’t consider visiting the shop. So glad that I did. Matt and the guys were great! From listening to my needs, discussing the features/benefits of various bikes, to fitting the bike, I could not have asked for a better experience. For the bikes that I was considering, the prices were exactly the same as those found at other bike shops and Trek’s website. I’m now the proud owner of a new Trek and I’m looking forward to joining the guys for a Saturday ride and will certainly purchase from Matt again. Thanks Guys!

We dealt with Patrick and he was great. He set up the bikes and did all the measurements and made all the adjustments to make sure we had a comfortable ride. The shop was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. We also got excellent deals on our bikes.

We stopped here after visiting a few other local bicycle shops. We went to purchase two bicycles(one mens and one womens) and I was surprised the pricing was higher than most if not all other shops we visited. The staff was very young but seemed to have a rough idea what to advise for the bicycles(I have been riding for approx.15yrs, road and mountain), but were incredibly distracted. The person helping us out walked away on one occasion to deal with something else, then on the second occasion walked away and did not come back for approx.10 minutes. He was helping another customer… I couldn’t believe it, so we went elsewhere and bought two bicycles for less and they work great. If you have no where else to go, then give them a try… I don’t recommend them. –I cannot rate the repair service… I did not use them–

Loved this experience! The Trek 7100 I bought was $ 40 less than at a competitor’s. The sales staff, though young, were very polite & helpful. The owner, Matt, fitted me to the bike & made several adjustments/customizations that showed his experience, patience, attention to detail & customer-oriented service. Their«new bicycle service policy» is generous. I’m a customer-for-life…

On Thanksgiving weekend, we visited this shop late in the afternoon for my 9-year old daughter’s first multi-speed bike. I had checked on-line and saw prices were better than the bike shops in our hometown of Columbia, so we made the 45 minute trek to Damascus. When there, LK(sorry, I didn’t get his name) showed me the bike I saw on-line but then suggested that I should really consider an adult bike for my daughter. She is tall and he noted that although a bigger bike would be more expensive it would last her years instead of maybe only 12 months. He fitted her and everything worked out: the size was great and it was a color she wanted. While a technician made sure everything was set on the bike, we bought a helmet with the new bike discount they offer. And then after paying for the bike and getting information about the shop’s complementary check-up for new purchases, we received the cherry on the sundae. As LK was helping bring the bike to the car, he realized that he had not charged us for the kick-stand. He told us not to worry around it, he was throwing it into the deal, and wished us well. I know a business can’t do that every day, but that is the kind of service that will have me tell all my friends to drive a little further and check out the All-American Bicycle Center.

I’m not easily impressed, but my experience buying from owner, Matt, at All American Bicycles far exceeded my expectatons! I can’t recommend this bike shop enough. I test road lots of bikes, and had narrowed down what I wanted to a few Trek road bikes, and essentially was shopping for a shop to buy from, as great customer service is very important to me! I can’t say enough positives about the education and service I received from Matt! He literally spent hours(yes hours) fitting me and making sure the bike was the right one for me. He explained things clearly and with great patience! After my purchase and taking the bike home, I experienced some knee pain. Matt had me come back in and spent considerable time and energy measuring me, checking my foot position on the petals, seat height, etc. The pain knee pain vanished! Matt matched the best price I found on the bike elsewhere. I live 40 minutes away, but that’s okay. Attention to customer happiness is a rare find these days! I would not buy a bike anywhere else! Thanks Matt!

I used to bike a lot up until college, but I slowly stopped riding and up until this spring hadn’t been on a bike in years. I wanted to get back into it and I tried a lot of places in the Bethesda/Rockville area. I couldn’t find one that fit me right, so a friend of mine recommended All American in Damascus. They were extremely helpful and worked around my schedule(I was not going to be able to make it back up for two weeks but they held two new bikes for me to try out during that time). I didn’t expect that, as I know they would be feeling a lot of pressure to sell their stock. The staff was very helpful at getting this quasi-novice back onto a bike(esp. the guy with red hair – forget his name, sorry). Like reviewer M.J. I live about 45 minutes away but I am glad I made the trip up. They only get 4 stars because the prices were a bit higher than I had found for an equivalent bike at other locations. However, the slight price bump is worth it because of the great service they provide.

Take this review with a grain of salt. I walked into the store, was impressed by the service, horrified by the *outrageous* prices, and walked out again. I live less than a mile from this store, and have never gone inside again. I only needed a ten-speed bike to ride around town, not something made out of gold. Found what I needed at Target for about a tenth what this store was asking. Guess I’m not the wipe-your-nose-with-hundred-dollar-bills customer that they’re used to dealing with. If you go, you’ll get great service, but be prepared for the sticker shock.

No idea what the 1 star reviewer is thinking — clearly has no idea what makes a good bike shop. All American is without question the best bicycle shop in the DC Metro area. I live in DC and happily drive the 30 to 45 minutes it takes to get there. Their mechanics are thorough, friendly and top notch. They even let me have a loaner wheel for my bike while they submitted for warranty on my cracked back rim — and I didn’t even buy my bike from them! If you want the best service, best mechanics, and a good deal to boot, this is the place to go.
