I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was great. The café is very accessible to bikers along the Virginia Creeper Trail. Great service and clean. It reminded me of being in the country which made me feel at home.

Amazing time on the creeper trail, the trip is not complete until you stop here for a treat!

Burger was pretty good as was the hot ham and cheese. We stopped just for the chocolate cake we’d heard so much about. What a disappointment. Tasted just like any other chocolate cake I’ve ever had from a Duncan Hines box. Pack your lunch instead.

Location, location, location. The could sell chocolate covered cockroaches, and there’d still be a line out the door. That said, the food isn’t bad at all! The chocolate cake is really good, just too small! My one complaint is the incessant bluegrass music. I know most diners there probably love it, but I look for a table farthest from the speakers.

I can’t think of one good thing to say about this food. We were looking forward to it as the locals talk about it like they have a script or something. They all mention that the chocolate cake was voted best in some magazine. Well, I didn’t have the cake so I cannot confirm or deny. I ordered a burger and fries and asked that the burger be cooked medium rare. She said ok, but the burger was beyond well done and completely burned. I’ve never had a burger screwed up so bad. And, it really didn’t have much flavor. The fries too were tasteless. Even though this is in the perfect spot on the Creeper Trail, I would not visit again. I’ll starve until I get back into town.

We were very hungry. It was good. Nothing fancy. They were lined out the door. No complaints food appeared clean

I’ve always been happy with the food each year my father and I ride the trail. It’s one of the highlights, and perfectly positioned if you start at White Top Mountain. Don’t stop in Damascus itself, you probably won’t find anything as consistent. The food has always been cooked well with good seasonings and flavor. It’s quick too!

This is a perfect place to stop while taking a bike ride along the Virgina Creeper. Are you going to get five star food here? No. Are you going to get really friendly service? Nope. You are going to get a great place to rest, have a bite to eat and regroup before heading back to Damascus. We stopped in here over Memorial Day weekend, so the place was hopping. The line was long(maybe 5 minutes total?), but it gave you plenty of time to scope out the menu and use the bathroom. Our party was planning to eat in Damascus, so we just wanted something to snack on. Our party of six got an order of chili cheese fries, a hot dog and ice cream and milkshakes. Everything was pretty decent, but it really hit the spot after a few hours of biking. We placed our order, and went outside to sit at a picnic table while waiting for our order number to be called over the loudspeaker. It took about 15 minutes for our food to be prepared, and we spent that time enjoying the beautiful scenery and watching bikers. If I ever make it back here, I know I will stop by the Creeper Trail Café for some light grub and a drink!

After reading previous reviews was not sure that would be our stop for lunch. but we did. Lunch was good and prices were reasonable. The staff was courteous and we enjoyed the grub. Mostly, typical food fair with dogs, burgers and Bbq. Eat inside or outside on picnic tables. Lots of friendless from creepier travelers and good place to regroup and finish trip to Damascus

We pulled off the creeper trail for a short break and recharge. The menu mostly consisted of things you might find at any burger joint(hotdogs, chicken strips, and of course burgers). We decided to split a Trail dog and fries. We were thankful we split it because it was not good. I will say I am a bit of hotdog connoisseur, so when a dog comes out resembling a large Vienna sausage, I get worried. Maybe the other food is better. We asked the lady working what we should get before ordering, and she just said whatever we got would be good… not so much. It probably wouldn’t survive if it wasn’t in such a prime location. But again, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Great chocolate cake. A must try. Pretty good hot dogs and burgers to boot. Amazing to find this place in the middle of nowhere. As you come down the Virginia Creeper trail from Whitetop Station and hit the 1.5 mile stretch of Private Land that is flat, it is near the end of this stretch. There are several roadside stands before this place, they aren’t the Creeper Trail Café, which is well marked when you pass by.

Location, location, location. When you’re riding the Creeper Trail, you can get off your bike and eat fries, big burgers, and other things right here. Outside, if you like. The best thing about it is, it’s there if you need some calorie intake.
