Love Main Street Pollo! The pork tacos are fantastic, and I love their plantains. Don’t let the fact that it’s in a gas station scare you. The food is amazing and fresh!!!

Wow! What a great find. If you’ve ever been at Taco Bar, variety not that much, but food is Amazing. Will definitely become a regular here.

I have spent some time in Mexico, not on resorts. These restaurant is very close to the real thing!:) i was completely impressed. Oh don’t forget to try the green sauce.

These tacos are disgusting do t get the burritos also. The steak is such cheap quality. Threw away y food couldn’t take another bite.

I have eaten here a dozen times now. Every time I am in Damascus, I make a point of it. Fresh cooked tasty Mexican /​Central American flavors. Great Peruvian chicken sauce.

Small mom and pop operation with great food. Their chicken is excellent, but the carnitas tacos are fantastic! The fried yucca was done just right.
Just a few tables inside, so take-​out is your best option. Parking is tricky

The rice, beans, rotisserie chicken, fried plantains, fresh avocado and this green sauce that’s a mix of fresh jalapenos and sour cream… Soo good! Highly recommend over Chipotle; half the price and tastes better!

No matter what you get everything is wonderful & extremely tasty. The only down side is the food takes so long to make even if I call ahead many times I’ve got there & it still wasn’t ready

I love love this place and the owners are super sweet! I always order the chicken quesadilla. It comes with cheese, peppers, and onions with a side of tomato lettuce and fresh avocado. The yucca is cooked perfectly and the cilantro sauce is amazing. Can’t forget the plantains. Don’t be intimidated by the fact this place is in a gas station lobby. They are legit ;)

I’m usually a little skeptical of gas station food spots, but I’m so glad I went in. I work in the Langley Park area which is surrounded by pollo restaurants. This little spot in Damascus is hands down the best Peruvian food around. It’s made to order, but worth the short wait. The couple that owns/​operates this spot might be the nicest people I’ve ever met; so nice that I was compelled to leave this review– the first one I’ve left on Unilocal

I’m sure Damascus residents rejoiced when Chipotle opened its doors, but I rejoiced after trying this place… It’s seriously good!
Nice folks, insanely good grub… Get some takeout from here immediately! I’m so happy this place is a short bike ride from my house!

NICE!!! All I have to say is, «Sorry, Chipotle.» Theres something about a nice, older lady cooking my food that makes it so much more desireable. Maybe because when my ACTUAL nice, older lady (my mom) doesnt feel like cooking, I can go to places run by people like you see at Main Street and taste the homey-​ness. A steak burrito and my beloved fried plantains (which Chipotle doesnt have, either) for under $ 10??? Absolutely.
In regards to gas station-​based Mexican joints, I prefer (only slightly) Taco Bar near Rio in Rockville… but I’m not always in that area and now I know I can get pretty much the same quality 5 min away from home.

I LOVE this place. The owners know me and my order so well because I always get the same thing. They are so sweet and really care about their business, and the prices are very reasonable. Give this place a try for some awesome food!

Don’t let the location fool you! This is an authentic, small family-​run operation, with top-​quality food and ingredients. The couple that runs it are super friendly, and have earned my loyalty. We are lucky to have them in Damascus.

I cannot believe I had not tried this place earlier! I was craving some tacos and wanted something other than Chipotle which is the only other taco place around. After reading the very positive reviews I decided to try this place out. I will say I did not realize the place was mostly take out. We got there and ordered and they said it would be about 25 minutes until our order was ready. Next time I will be calling ahead for carry out, no biggie. Everything here is fresh and made to order. I loved the tortillas that my tacos were served on, they perfectly captured the corn tortilla flavor I wanted. Their green sauce (I think it must be some kind of cilantro aoli?) is a great compliment to the tacos themselves. I had one beef, pork and chicken and all were delicious. What a hidden gem! I will be coming back here for sure!

My mom came here yesterday for the first time and insisted I try it. I’m always amazed at the hidden gems tucked inside of gas stations around here and Main Street Pollo doesn’t disappoint! I ordered over the phone and came to pick it up, but they also deliver locally which makes it incredibly convenient.
As soon as you turn onto Main St. you can smell the delicious rotisserie chicken wafting through town. Their set up is quite unassuming but if I’ve learned anything its that you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. The family that owns this spot is inside working hard over masterful food creations. No better Mexican style food can be found anywhere in this area. I highly recommend!

Let me start off by saying this is inside a gas station with three tables and a bar that seats four, so it is pretty much a take out place. While we were eating there several people came in for the chicken and asking if there was any left.
We ordered tacos and I thought they were pretty good. Everything was fresh and tasty. I thought the pork & steak were much better than the chicken. My daughter wanted salsa (red) and she made a rustic pico de Gallo no salsa. They have only been there for nine months and I am sure as their business grows they will have more options.
Everything is fresh, but the menu is limited. This is more of a taco shop and not a restaurant. There are no chips & salsa, but if you are in the area give it a try.

I was thrilled to find a new Mexican spot in Damascus since anytime I crave Mexican food it means driving 25+ minutes to go to a sit down restaurant (which is perfectly fine sometimes, especially when I could use a margarita).
My family and I were looking for something different to order for my mothers 10 person birthday celebration (other options were Chinese or pizza). After reading reviews I called Main Street Pollo just to see what my options were and Patricia, the owner I believe, was more than helpful in providing me with a variety of things she could make for a group.
We did a taco bar type thing with sides. Patricia and I worked up the following menu for our group: tray of chicken taco meat, tray of pork taco meat (we picked the carnitas style. she did offer a pineapple pork style), tray of grilled cheesy potatoes (has a name that I can’t recall), a tray of rice and beans (has a name that I can’t recall), green beans, guacamole and 2 veggie options.
Both taco meats were delicious. The carnitas were full of flavor and very juicy… a big hit. With the taco meat we got plenty of freshly made corn tortillas which were warm and soft, freshly chopped cilantro and onions, a house made creamy jalapeño sauce (yum) and a house made spicy chipotle sauce. All the sides were very good as well. We even got a small bag of limes to top the carnitas with.
Patricia was very awesome to work with in the 24 hours that her and I talked. She was able to work up anything I felt our small party needed (I asked for veggies-​she said she could do green beans… even though its not a regular menu item). She emailed and texted me with any questions, updates, estimates and even pictures of how to assemble the tacos!
I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back and try their regular menu items

After reading through Unilocal reviews, we called ahead and reserved a chicken. My mom went to pick it up, and returned with the chicken, cut into pieces, tons of amazingly delicious «green sauce», a quesadilla, a potato rounds and cheese dish, and plaintains for days. All for $ 25!
The chicken was moist, flavorful, and easy to share since it was already cut up for us. Everything was superb with the exception of the quesadilla– it had what looked like mayo in it, and fell apart easily.
We will be back to try more of the menu! Very friendly service and an exciting option for this area.
