Very nice instructors is the good thing. I could actually give the program a 5 star if you are simply looking for a baby sitter at the beach. I have signed my kids up for San Clemente State and OCJG and both were good programs. Both have a iron man type event that kids gear up for and is cool. I wasted my time to write this because I was so disappointed. I meant to sign up for OCJG again and when I called these guys they said, «It’s $ 300(150×2) if you want to leave the program.» I had not even started. I almost left but talked to the top guy who assured me this was a lifeguard program. In the first two days, my kids didn’t get in the water. They built sand castles, played lame games, goofed around… I will say the kids liked it because they did not have to work. The buoy swim was a man standing out in 4 feet of water. Most 4 year olds could make that swim. I burned almost $ 1,000 on 2 kids for a baby sitter. In short, its great for kids who can’t swim or afraid of the water. Very bummed to waste 3 weeks of my kids summer. Go down and watch the OCJG guys vs. this program. It’s night and day and my kids also loved OCJG although they didn’t like the long buoy swims with a lot of running. It makes them tired. awwww. hahaha. well, don’t let these guys fool you. It is not a junior lifeguard program in my opinion. Not even close. Please research more before you sign up. BTW, they did not even make my kids swim(even though they pretend like they need to tryout). It’s just a glorified baby sitting money maker.
