CrossFit Dana Point

I was in town for springbreak and spent a week with the great folks at CFDP. This is what CrossFit is supposed to be about. Great coaching and members. If you are within 50 miles of Dana Point go see JB and the crew. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been out of Crossfit for three years and moved to Dana point recently. I hit a hard snag in my life and need to pick my spirt back up. I walked in at around noonish to check the place out, it’s A small place but it felt like home right away. I was greeted by JB when I stumbled in and talked a little bit even though I had already made my decision. I also meet Zak and the sweet gym dog tugger that I will steal one day (JK), I felt right at home and in A safe friendly community of people that will always have your back in every way. As a combat veteran that means A lot to me and is hard to find. My worries wash away when I walk into my box in Dana point and I leave everything there, thank you God for blessing me in finding CFDP I call this place my home and family, look no more people this is where you want to be. Love, respect, honor, courage, commitment.

I have anxiety about dropping into boxes. It takes me a lot of online investigation to determine if the box seems friendly enough for drop ins. You know, sometimes, it’s just not a good fit.
I immediately got a good vibe from this place. I was made to feel welcome before I even got there.
My one gripe was, taking the 5AM class, it was dark as hell out and I had a hell of a time trying to find the entrance door. But that’s my own fault — but damn, it was hard. But then when I found it (and the parking lot for that matter), it was a total «duh» moment.
All types of experience levels here. Great coaching, great strength/​conditioning combos, and great, friendly community. Thanks for letting me share an hour with you all!

I dropped in three times this week while in California visiting my parents. The coach/​owner Zak couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The first drop in was free (I’ve never encountered that in the dozen or so boxes I’ve dropped into) and the rest were inexpensive. Moreover, his coaching was exactly what I was looking for. Technical, personal, and encouraging, without being abrasive and in your face. Highly recommend for locals or for folks dropping in!

I went to CFDP for about 6 months, I recently just left SoCal and I miss it greatly! I got awesome results but that pales in comparison to the life long friends that I made. Never seen a coach care as much as there head coach Zak does! I’m sure they will be around for a long time, for sure check them out!

I’ve been doing CrossFit for 3+ years and have dropped into 20+ different CrossFit boxes and Zak’s gym is one of the really great ones.
Everyone is super-​friendly and welcoming. The WOD programming is thoughtful and smart. The box itself is tidy and well managed.
Zak is an excellent coach. He has a focus on proper form and is energetic and encouraging throughout. Many other coaches during the WOD are checking Facebook, yakking to their buddies or standing around yawning. Rather Zak is making the rounds, giving form feedback and offering encouragement.

Great box!!! Dropped in for a Saturday class (out of towner) — and EVERYONE was so friendly. They checked us in really fast, asked all about where we were from and where we work out, and introduced us to everyone (even though most had already come and introduced themselves).
The staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgable– gave a good warm-​up and great instruction. All the members were incredibly friendly. Programming was fun, equipment was nice, and the gym was clean.

Awesome community! Starts from the top. Both owners Zak and JB are approachable and always willing to take the time to explain functional movements so they will make sense to you. I highly recommend CrossFit DP if you are living in South County or just visiting from out of town! Once you start. You.Will.Be.Hooked!

I have always loved to exercise and constantly challenge myself in new ways. At CrossFit Dana Point they exceed my expectations everyday with great creative workouts. Coach Zak and JB are a pleasure to be around and always very fun and helpful! I have never done CrossFit before and now I love it everyone that goes is very friendly and it is a great enviroment to be around. I look forward to going after work and spending my evening there. I love Crossfit Dana point!

If you’re looking for a CF in south OC seriously, stop looking; don’t be scared or intimidated and come join us! We’re an awesome friendly group that is all about «community» and we love new people :) Zak is THE best coach. If you’re new or experienced, he will guide you every step of the way. I grew up as a gymnast and for a long time now I have wanted to get back into the same type of training. I am older now and have had a baby~ so with that, I was intimidated and afraid to start CrossFit especially because I had never done it !!! I went to the first intro class they have on Saturday at 9am. I was able to spend time talking with JB & Zak (the owners) ~It was just what I needed to feel safe and comfortable on my first workout. Zak is an amazing coach, always showing us the proper technique and always cheering us on!!! He and JB have truly helped me find my place and I feel like I am becoming a better me. CrossFit Dana Point with Zak and JB is such a sweet, fun and loving community !!! If you want a gym where you can get an awesome workout, get in amazing shape and be around beautiful people… CROSSFIT DANA POINT IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! TRY IT OUT!!! I love it and feel great!!!

Remember when you told yourself that you were going to get in shape? Well you did it, you’re officially pear shape and you’ve become that dude who wears his shirt in the pool. Stop crying, There is still hope now that Dana Point Cross fit has opened. This place kicks more ass than Chuck Norris! Been coming here for 3 weeks now and I woke up this morning looking like Wolverine from X-​Men …and last time I checked the power plant isn’t leaking radiation. So put down that del taco and come try a free workout at Dana Point Cross Fit. No matter what shape you’re currently in coach Zak will give you the tools to reach your fitness goals!!!

I’m a long-​time competitive athlete, but brand new to CrossFit, so I decided to try out the new CrossFit Dana Point. I’m SOLD! Zak, the trainer (and one of the owners) is incredibly well-​versed on form and technique and an awesome coach/​motivator! 5-​Stars.

I am pleased to congratulate Zak Kepner on his new CrossFit location in Dana Point. Zak is not only an outstanding trainer, but an incredible person. He is professional, encouraging, and the type of person you will want to surround yourself with. Zak is the type of trainer that will not boss you around, but motivate you to become better and challenge yourself. Without a doubt, I am convinced Dana Point CrossFit will quickly become the top gym in South Orange County. If you live in Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, or Laguna Beach, Dana Point CrossFit is a must!
