I would put no stars If I could. Don’t go to the store, last couple times I’ve been there the employees are very rude, very last time I was there I asked the old guy at the counter for a marauder and he simply said good luck and walked away. I’ll never go there again hogans right down the street is way better always has the lures and gear I need and are very friendly and helpful.

Watch out! Dishonest business or seriously incompetent? I bought four items consisting of two packages of hooks and two spools of flouro line. What is the chance of being over– charged on three out of four items at the register for a total difference of $ 13.50? Either way, I am not going back here. Bad experience!

I pass this store everyday on the way to work. I stopped by to update my fishing gear and annual licenses. The employees there are two polite old salts, who are very knowledgeable about various gear. They have a true passion for fishing and will not pressure you to buy something or upsell. Definitely a nice shop.

I went there for the first time yesterday. The guys were extremely helpful and let me ask a ton of questions without making me feel like an idiot. They stayed open late until I had everything I needed.(Tip: they’re on the right of a one way street, so if you miss it, don’t make a u-turn like me and drive the wrong way. In my defense, the road was newly paved and didn’t have lines, so there’s that…)

My buddy dropped off three reels here to get them lined up. A Torium 16, a Torium 20 that he purchased from me and a TLD Star 20⁄40. He was running late to pick them up so the store stayed open a few extra minutes to let him get them, which was cool, but what happened next wasn’t cool. When he got home he noticed that the Torium 20 which was in mint condition had been switched out with a TLD Star 15/30, a much cheaper reel. When he called them about it, they said they just couldn’t see how it could happen and basically told him he was SOL. Needless to say, he wont be going back. Definitely be careful with these guys if you choose to have them work on your equipment.

There was a mix up when my brother picked up his reels. One was switched with an inexpensive model. Caught the mistake on the way home and called, they said it was impossible. Mark your reels before you drop them off and be aware.

This is the only place my husband and I go to for our fishing gear. Not only do they have great rods/reels/tackle but they really connect with their customers. They have gotten to know our family and great us when we come in. They give us the scoop on where to go, what is biting, and what to use. Awesome shop!

I spotted this store on one of our drives along PCH that my parents and I take just to get out of the house for awhile. It was closed at the time but I quickly took out my phone and googled it up. See, I’ve been fresh water fishing since I was old enough to hold a pole, but I’m only now getting into salt water. I saw all the reviews on Unilocal, saw all the nice things people say about them, and had to go. I just really wanted to see if they’d teach me things like proper salt water rigging.(I only knew the Carolina rig like I do when freshwater fishing. Only in that I use a bubble float, not a sinker like for salt water.) Now I happened to learn a little at The Fred Hall Sportsman show but I still wanted to go to Jig Stop. My brother’s coworker has arranged for a charter out of Davy’s Locker later in June and my dad and I are going. I want to get ready — amongst other things I wanted new, better line on my ocean pole. I only had the original red line that was on it when I bought it. Dad decided we’d go to Jig Stop to get our reels filled. Let me tell you, the men here are some of the nicest, and funniest dudes I’ve ever met. One happily filled our reels with proper line, explaining everything he was doing as he did so. They reassured me I’ll have an easy time getting use to saltwater. Dad and I wear given a knot tying lesson with our new line. We were told places we could fish from the shore in Dana Point. And we just had a great time conversing and shopping. I think this was the first time ever I’ve seen dad happy to spend money! In fact, I hope in the future if I can afford it, I can do a charter out of Jig Stop! It was just that good.

I spotted these guys as carrying the cork puppy and having just pimped out the old cork deckhands decided to protect them better this time around. Well as far as the visibility on this spot is concerned its tough! I was looking for it and dove right past it. It’s right on the corner in a greenish office building, but it’s door is kinda sunk low on street level. But any way I step in to a tackle and it’s got a great owner and Gamakatsu section so I wiz to the back and the boys are just chit chatting but breaks off to see what’s up and he promptly finds two of the hard to find in stock med cork puppies. I’m stocked but I hit him up on the price match to which he says«we sure do». Right on! then I find a fish works logo t then promptly see a Calstar rods logo tee, score, they also have a really nice shop logo tee that he gave up at the internet mistake price of 11 sumthin nice beefy tee with logo on pocket, and 5 color screen dorado. Any way spent about a bill but got decked out and fine tuned so was all worth it! Will definitely be coming back to restock. Thanks jigstop.

This place was great, the owner was the most helpful normal dude who didn’t make me feel like a dumb ass for not knowing a few things and he was more than willing to steer me straight. He even pulled out some line to show me exactly what not I should be using on steal liter. Great place and I will return.

Purchased from them online. Experienced some delay with shipment when they couldn’t supply a swimbait lure color the manufacturer no longer made. My fault partly because I gave incorrect Phone # and they had to contact me by email. I responded via email with lure color correction, but had to follow up with phone call to get things moving. The people I dealt with were upbeat and helpful. The order arrived, but the jig heads I received were 2 ounces heavier than those I ordered. I called about the mistake. No hassle, no problem. They promptly sent me the correct jigheads and told me to keep the bigger ones — no charge! I’ll do business with Jig Stop again

I was looking for a specific reel that a competitor of The Jig Stop was advertising as on sale, with free Spectra & top shot. They were advertising it, BUTTHEYDID’NTHAVEITINSTOCK.(Chark Bait) I called the Jig Stop, they had it in stock and matched their competitor’s sale price. AWESOME! While they put the free line on the new reel, we sat and shot the shit about fishing knotts, records, tactics, old gear etc etc. I had a great experience at the Jig Stop.

Best tackle store in Orange County! Whether you’re looking to buy, sell or trade equipment this place rocks! All the employees seem to enjoy their jobs as they get to talk about fishing all day. They’re always full of tips and know all the great spots to catch whatever is in season. David, the owner is very cool and personable and will remember you by name once he recognizes you as a regular. He also organizes fishing vacations to Baja as well as charters fishing boats. I really enjoy coming in here to browse all the different swim baits and lures. They’re already gearing up for lobster season. Are you ready?
