Slow service in mid-afternoon. Not worth the wait. Snooty bartender too. Nice setting.

Fantastic service, even when they’re understaffed or serving a large party. The food is always reliable, upscale, and paired well — you’re going to need to be a little bit more particular than usual about what you order, because the flavors are intense and more intricate than they may appear at first glance. What looks like a classic favorite to you may actually be something with much stronger & different flavors than originally intended. This isn’t a bad thing whatsoever; it’s merely something to understand when ordering. The location can’t be beat.

Do anything and everything you can to try this place at least once, especially in the summer. I use to live in Monarch Bay and never left the gates because this place was too amazing to ever go anywhere else. Always good food and wine. The scenery is stunning and in the summer you have the only beach in California you an drink on ! The margaritas at the beach bar are so good and the staff will take care of your towels, umbrellas and chairs. All you gotta do is show up

Not much to review on as we did not eat here as it was all booked up-weird thing though was I saw like 5+ empty tables the 45 minutes we were there sitting in the bar area having a drink. I see that people clearly just come/eat here because its right on the beach and has a beautiful view especially during sunset which we were lucky enough to be there for. My cucumber martini was excellent and I would have had another one had we had time. I am glad we did not end up eating here though after looking around and seeing people in swimsuits and coverups-we were dressed nicely as I was under the impression this place was fancy!

My wife and I were a little cautious about eating here after reading some other reviews, but we had a delightful meal here last night. It was a Tuesday in mid-September, just before sunset. Not many diners, so we had our choice of either inside or outside tables. It was balmy but breezy and becoming chilly, but we chose outside and we’re glad we did. Shortly after the sun vanished we asked a waiter to fire up the heater. We ordered cocktails and enjoyed them with delicious rolls and butter while we watched the sunset, which was spectacular. The food was terrific. I had a half Jidori chicken with fingerling potatoes l, and she ordered the veal Milanese with whipped potatoes. The service was very good: prompt, attentive, and engaging. The only thing I found odd about the service was that after we are our salad the bus boy took our bowls, and asked whether we wanted to keep our forks and knives. I would have preferred that he simply take and replace them, rather than interrupting our conversation in order to draw our attention to such a trivial consideration. Other than that, the service was ideal, in contrast to the impression we received from earlier reviews. This evening, Wednesday, we enjoyed in-room dining and were similarly pleased with both the food and the service. Tomorrow we have reservations at the Stone Hill Tavern. If you’re restaurant shopping please watch for our review.

I love the shrimp Cock-tail here at MBC. I always hit this place up after a long day rollerblading in Laguna.

I dined here during my stay at St. Regis since its convenient and the view is spectacular. Unfortunately, the food is just okay. It’s pricey and the food quality is mediocre. I was not impressed with our appetizers or main dishes– at all. I would also like to say that a Dirty Martini is $ 19 which is a bit too much! That’s even more than Mastro’s Ocean Club. They should reconsider the pricing on cocktails.

Had the BESTHALIBUT dinner I have ever had in my life. I would give this restaurant a 5plus rating til I evaluate the service and professionalism. Lunch service and food was exquisite. Although, tonight was our anniversary dinner was excited about my husbands special plans he made a few weeks in advance! The food was fabulous but the service was worse than average. I’ll admit, we brought our our veuve clouquet, and knew we would have to pay a corkage fee, but… Hello, are we going to pop it and serve it ourselves? It was over 1 ½ hours before the cork got popped! And then dinner… THEBESTKINGSALMONMEALEVER, but then … I am only ½ way finished my delicious Salmon dinner and the waiter comes and takes my husbands meal and asks if I am done??? Really??? What is a southern woman suppose to do? BACK AWay from my plate and let them take it away. REALLY? How rude??? And my husband did not say a thing??? WHATISWRONGWITH This PICTURE??? Yep… And then desert? Can’t quite rate it? Melted ice cream, more like cats milk on a nice plate with a chocolate treat in the side? Well, sorry to be so negative, but just so very disappointed it the evening. It’s not only the company we keep but the quality of food and service plays a Major part of our experience. I would say, that part sucked. Sorry to be so blunt? But this was suppose to be a special evening, and they ruined it

Bartender doesn’t know how to make a piña colada. On the rocks? Puerto Rico would be disappointed.

Lingering sunset reflects off the icy surface of my perfectly cold Belvedere martini. Fish chowder is hot and tasty, with small bits of smoky salmon swimming in creamy but not too rich broth. The bread is served piping hot, butter yielding instantly when spread. The seared ahi was a hit and the fresh halibut was well prepared and seasoned. Veal Milanese was tender but the breading was too heavy. Tasty roasted vegetable and a good mash. Couple of bottles of Stags Leap shared with good friends. The servers are friendly and well intentioned. But what makes this place special are the crashing waves and private sandy beach. Pelicans diving and the smell of the sea and the salt spray on your face, lingering into the night. I like this place and you will too.

We stayed at the St Regis for a week and ate here twice. The fish Tacos for lunch surprised us and made us fans for life. Sitting seaside watching the ocean in oversized comfortable chairs makes for a sensational place for an apéritif. We came back 2 days later for a sunset dinner and it only became better. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The wine suggestion was perfect for the dinner. Our meal was perfectly seared, tender and flavorful. A wonderful gem in the St Regis chain.

Daniel & his team at Monarch Bay were absolutely STELLAR. The service, the food, the ambience– IMPECCABLE. We sat at a completely private table with an exquisite view of private Monarch beach and ultimately a sunset never to be forgotten. How we were able to secure the spot at the last minute can only be attributed to a team of professionals who have a sincere and innate desire to create a perfect experience for their guests. We started with a divine butternut squash soup and shared a perfectly cooked pork chop for dinner. That brought us back the next day for beautiful prime steak and shortrib sandwiches with awesome sweet potato fries. We would have been back again for Valentine’s Day dinner but the bath at the St Regis ended the evening early. We will be back again soon!!!

Above average hotel food. We shared the burger, brisket grilled cheese, parmesan truffle fries, and mixed green salad. Burger was nothing to write home about. Dressing on the mixed green salad was fantastic. Barely any parmesan or truffle on our fries and the brisket grilled cheese on sourdough wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great. The sourdough was lost and it should have just been called a brisket sandwich with cheese. I’d go here again because it’s convenient to the hotel. We took the free tram down and back. Drivers where the highlight.

Everything about this place was great. We took the shuttle down from the St. Regis to the Monarch Bay club. The shuttle ride down was fun. We had reservations for Sunday brunch. Our server was really sweet and very attentive. I had the burger, the only lunch type item on the menu with the truffle fries. It was absolutely delicious! I ate every piece on my plate haha. My husband has an egg dish, it was just fine, clearly it wasn’t exceptional because neither one of us can remember what it was. After our meal we sat and enjoyed the spectacular view from the private beach. We also took a walk down by the water. We can’t wait to go back and reserve one of the fire pits for an evening.

My wife and I ate at the beach club for our anniversary. Since we were staying at St. Regis resort, we were allowed access to this exclusive restaurant. The service was top notch, the atmosphere was fantastic and most importantly, the food was fabulous. I had the Duck Confit and it was the best Duck I’ve ever had. If you are going to stay at St. Regis resort, do yourself a favor and have dinner at the Bay Club — you won’t be disappointed.

I had the double barrel burger. It was delicious and simple. No sauce, just amazing cheese and meat. And I’m a sauce girl. The fries were to die for.

I ate at the Monarch Bay Club twice during my stay at the St. Regis Monarch Beach, and both times, the views were great and the food was very good. I went for lunch both times, so I was able to try a good portion of their menu. I ordered the double barrel hamburger the first time I was there, and it was rather tasty. In general, I’ve had so many hamburgers that it’s hard to really do one very well and not make it taste like something I’ve had twenty different times, but this one had fresh meat and a good taste. I got half truffle fries and have sweet potato fries, and the truffle fries are definitely the way to go; though there was perhaps a bit too much truffle oil on the fries, the sweet potato fries were kind of burnt to a crisp(seemingly on purpose), instead of being long fries that resembles frites. The second time, I shared an order of the blackened fish tacos, which were absolutely delicious. Because there are four tacos, I was able to have two of them, but I definitely wanted more. There’s lots of tasty fish and the accompaniments didn’t detract from the overall flavor of the fish. I also had the Cobb salad, which came pre-chopped, and was very filling. They use quality ingredients, and that makes all the difference. The views are really great, as you are right on the beach overlooking the water. We sat outside both times, but the first time with a bit chilly because of the wind. They have a large indoor eating area if the temperature is an issue. The servers were friendly both times, and gave us good recommendations of what to order. Overall, I had some tasty meals the Monarch Bay Club, and would recommend going to it. As a note, only people who stay the St. Regis(or are club members) can eat here, so the food is charged directly to your room and you can’t use a separate credit card.

We had the most amazing experience having our wedding here over New Years. The manager Dan was exceptional and the food and service far exceeded all of our expectations. If you are looking for a venue for a small intimate wedding this would be the place. A special thanks to Josh for preparing a wonderful vegan option for my wife and I and amazing non vegan options for the rest of our guests. Thank you thank you thank you:)

Got a chance to hang out here while staying at the St. Regis and I gotta say, not totally impressed, unfortunately. Other than the stellar location, this place falls short. First off the beach, it’s not great, it’s covered in stinky piles of seaweed and though I’m sure the club could make an effort to clear it away in the mornings, they don’t. They also don’t offer cocktail service on the beach, which to me, is a totally deal-breaker, I guess they only do that stuff in mexico. You’ll have to haul your ass all the way to back to the bar to get a drink, though the staff will bring out chairs and umbrellas for you. Then the locker rooms are just terrible, I mean, just a notch above the public facilities. I was expecting beach club quality but it’s more like an old high school gym or something along those lines. Then the food, well, my wedge salad made with limp iceberg lettuce and over-ripe red onions didn’t really do it for me. Overall, I just hope the membership is reasonably priced otherwise I’d just save the money and enjoy Salt Creek for free.
